  1. - Do players understand/stick to the game plan. - Players dropped (more so regular season) for non performance. - Fighting out every game until the end regardless of result. - Do the players come to play every week.
  2. But the problem is Macca we are struggling at training, we have players that still struggle with the games basics. The introduction of quick ball movement is clearly troubling some. If we are to rest players I'd only rest Jones, Vince, Hogan, Tmac and Garlett.
  3. I don't think we have the luxury to treat the pre season with contempt, whilst the club has improved out of sight off the field as a footy team we have a long way to go. Reading Friday's training reports one poster describes the "full ground drill as having low trajectory passing, powerful, flat and accurate" whilst another wrote "skills difficult due to wind and there are numerous turnovers from missed kicks or errant handball. Monday's training report read "the match simulation stuff was very scrappy" but by all means let's rest our senior players for the first two games and bring them in for a bit of a run around for the last game. I don't think the players have taken ownership yet, I don't think some of them know what it even means. We are struging with the concept of quick ball movement, some players simply don't have the skill level required. I'd like to think players like Frost/Bugg/Kennedy go hard and push for round 1 selection, Watts was dropped for rd 23 last year, he needs to impress, if he is to play as a permanent fwd lets bloody bloody see it, whenever practicable his leads must honoured. With the loss of Melksham we need to trial some other options off half back.
  4. To extend the life of my laptop I'm not playing SC this year but would be all over him if I had the patience.
  5. Won't be too many more after this season.
  6. Thanks the reports. Sounds like the skills are up on last weeks "sloppy full ground drills". Which bit threw you BB? Low trajectory passing, powerful or flat and accurate?
  7. After losses (is that spelt correctly??) last year to Essendon and Carlton I will take any win, but ... considering we are still a side that "gets up" for certain games as opposed to coming to play each week I would like to think the players have this game bookmarked as hammer time. If ever a side was there for the taking its Essendon. They have an away game against the Suns then return home to play us. This game is a litmus as to whether the players have taken ownership.
  8. I don't buy into the "he dropped himself", writing was on the wall. I also think the process of dropping a player (anyone not just Watts) only to bring them back in the following week doesn't serve its intended purpose. If a player is dropped this year it should be a minimum two weeks before he's even considered for a recall, make that player earn it.
  9. Well I'm not sure what to say, that wasn't my intention. I've had one day off in three weeks, 12-14 hours a day....I'm wrecked, the occasional spelling mistake is bound to creep in. I thought my point was valid, misspelt or not.
  10. 13 posts in and you're worried about spelling.... Go hard.
  11. Thanks for the report TGR,Please enlighten me, what is the role of the "fifth" and the "launch". cheers
  12. We need to start coming up with excuses for the club should we loose, we can't honestly expect the players to take responsibility. I think it's fair to say we've overplayed the "under developed" or debuted too early card". I think the club should run with something along the lines of "we were unable to do a proper opposition analysis due to the nature of Essendons list, they've only been together for such a short time but they've gelled together really well and are a highly unpredictable side".
  13. Considering the whole Roos factor a round 2 loss to Essendon of any margin will be worse for this club than the 186 against Geelong. In fact if we do loose it should spell the end.
  14. And if we loose the players must be held accountable....for once.
  15. And it coincides with a year that three overpaid footballers collectively worth about 1.2 million coming out of contract. We we simply can not [censored] this up. That fact we were proactive last year was a good sign but as many have alluded to already we must win more games. 10 isn't a pass this year as we should have beaten Saints/Bombers/Blues last year. To win more games we must eliminate all passengers as the players are flat out of excuses.
  16. Is it Tim Gossage (spelling??) who does the WA games for SEN, he's a little bit different and I like the way he goes about it.
  17. That is our weakness in a nutshell, get in our face and get physical with us. Essendon hasn't even puts its list together let alone train together. A loss here would mean the players have learnt nothing under Roos.
  18. Obviously not to scale Old Dee?
