CHANGES: Rd 04 vs Geelong
In the Burgess’ injury report he said we played an intra-club with the Casey guys on Saturday. Smith, M Brown, Lockhart and Hibbo all got through it unscathed.

Max Gawn RSN Interview (6/4/21)
I was very slow working this out, was wondering why Langdon has played the wing furthest from the bench in the first 3 games and Gus the nearest. Makes sense to have a winger that hardly leaves the ground for a rest on the other side of the bench and the wingers that get rotated more frequently nearer the interchange.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Yes it’s incredible, it was evident in the first practise match of 2020 against the Crows. A few times he won the hit-out that day and accelerated by our mids to get the ball first.

Christian Salem Re-Signs for 5 Years
Throw a little barber shop in the fine print and it’s a sealer. I’m sure we’ll do everything in our power to keep one of our better disposers of the ball.

Anyone know if Casey played a practice match on the weekend and if not why not? There were at least a couple of VFL practice games over the weekend.

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs GWS
Seriously AFL, I get that there’s a game still to be played this round but get your priorities right, like informing us about ticketing for our huge game next week. Really enjoying our start to the year, there’s a spring in the step every Monday, the kids squabbling is now entertainment and how good to have a team most of us can start trusting that when the chips are down they will fight it out. There will be down days, hopefully few and far between.

CHANGES: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Work rate has to be the main reason Sparrow continues to get a game, although he’s ok when he actually gets the ball. Looking at the Tracker stats, he’s our leading player in the first three weeks for average speed in both attack and defence. Stats for tonight have him down as 5 contested possessions but 4 disposals. 4 intercept possessions, 1 goal assist and 3 score involvements. Not bad for a quiet game.

GAMEDAY: Rd 03 vs GWS
Last week was a win and a good win, not many wins are perfect. Not sure why people are trying to take the gloss of it just because the Saints got smashed by Essendon. Saints played a hell of a lot better against us than what they did yesterday. There’s no way Essendon are a 13 goal better side than them, it just shows you how quickly the game can change week to week. Port and Saints both got smashed yesterday but for different reasons. Port tried hard but were just outclassed by a unit I believe has the best foot skills in the league and they couldn’t break down the Eagles’ system. Blind Freddy could tell you the mindset displayed by the Saints was very poor. I’ll be happy if we keep beating what’s in front of us, continue showing a level of maturity and team ethic that was on display last week and you go a long way in winning games.

CHANGES: Rd 03 vs GWS
It’s obvious that most of us really dislike the ritual of Thursday night teams vanishing. All because clubs think it gives them better flexibility to name a team the night before. That’s pretty much the answer I got when I contacted SEN to find out the exact reason although the host did agree with me that it’s rubbish. Like mentioned above teams pretty much know their final 22 two to three days prior to a game, the NRL clubs announce squads on the Tuesday before and there’s nothing wrong with that. At least give us an extended squad on Thursday nights so we can argue on here for a good two days about the final interchange.

Maybe we will see a 100 goal season by a forward this year. I’d like to see that, any chance it can happen?

With goals like that no wonder the headline from the Round 2 ‘Nine things we learned’ read The Kozzie Show is must-watch TV No pressure Kozzie, just go out there and keep having fun.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
They were talking about this on SEN yesterday t_u. The ‘Stamina Men.’ In round 1 four players (didn’t catch the names) across all games played 100%, in round 2 that number increased to 7 and as you stated 3 were ours. It will be interesting to see if the number keeps increasing league wide.

CHANGES: Rd 03 vs GWS
Sub switch. Baker out Melksham in. Hibbo probably has still a bit to offer, but I wouldn’t want to change the back 6 at the moment.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
That’s awesome work by Spargo and ANB, this stuff is infectious. The hard work is evident early this season. When the Saints had their little patch in the second quarter I saw a lot of finger pointing at the ground from our boys, instantaneously I thought here comes the blame game between them, but i since read on here it was all about working out how to restructure. Really pleasing to see some maturity creep in.
