  1. It is all anecdotal, so who knows the correct answer, still think he will be here for a good few years, don't think the pull is strong
  2. Not that brave, we will just have to wait and see as with all top players these days He loves Perth, coz his family is there, he actually finds the environment compared to Melbourne boring, (from quite a few sources), I know for a fact he is a big fan of the coffee culture here, live in same area and know which ones he likes to frequent
  3. But we got ravaged by injury las year BB if Kent vandenBerg and Salem had stayed fit hopefully this year we have a better standard of cover
  4. It will have to be a massive turn around for Terlich - he was rarely mentioned in the best players for Casey last year, and his match reports were hardly glowing, often criticising his positioning and decision making. Will keep an open mind, hoping to be pleasantly surprised. He has to perform this year, who knows whether he can crack a spot in the 22, but he is giving it his best shot, which is good on him, interestingly he was very good on Friday, with the main culprit for turnovers being Viney, so you can never tell..........last year because of the mass of injuries we had, he played with a couple of hampering minor injuries, ankle and hand.....he is hard and competitive, and yes some of skill errors in the past have been horrible, but who knows we may have fixed those
  5. HL didn't put a time frame on return, he is back running and has been doing heaps of indoor work, looks super fit body wise, can't see him being too far away, needs to test the ankles with twisting and turning etc though Spoke to Alex S who is head rehab guy, got a bit of a straight bat about Oliver 'is a young guy, making sure we don't break him, no real issues', he did a heap of work in rehab
  6. To anybody who thinks we will eventually lose Jesse back to WA, he really likes Melbourne, didn't think much of Perth growing up, has settled well into the Melbourne lifestyle, especially the live music and coffee culture...has established really good friendships with JKH, James Harmes and Petracca....has total respect for one Nathan Jones and wants to give him the success he craves.........and wants to payback the club for the way they have looked after him during his back issues...don't think the money would be an issue with him....just got the feeling back in my arm after shaking hands with him and wishing him Happy Birthday on Friday
  7. Amen to that Ron I am expecting us to surprise a little bit
  8. What I meant was you could have 18 in their positions on the field at the start and 4 on the bench who can cover a few positions, Kennedy being one of those, I see the point you make
  9. Just a note on Lumumba, had a chat to him at training, another one who felt he let himself, teammates and supporters down last year, ankle issues just wouldn't settle, nearly back, issue totally fixed, although we compared how far we could turn our feet to 90 deg. just wants to get back in full training
  10. Bernie would get a good laugh out of that, I had a go at him at training on Friday, told him he was in rehab when I last got to training before Xmas, said with his history of hamstring issues, they are working on strengthening them (even at his age), the broken finger didn't help, said he knows every blade of grass personally around the perimeter of Goschs reckons he has run on every one of them, said he is feeling even fitter than last year, and a total believer in the program he is on Dom Tyson was bitterly disappointed with his output last year, has worked his arse off at training, increased his size and strength as well, looking at repaying the supporters As for Kent if he can play like his training wow
  11. "Unlike others, I don't overly worry about the draw, because we have no idea who'll be an easy or hard opponent. The Dogs went from 7 to 14, while the Suns slid down the ladder. Port didn't meet expectations" Totally agree, I personally think Hawthorn are getting close to hitting the wall, especially with Roughead going down, their core is getting older without the younger players being given the opportunity to get experience, the older players are still great players but they will be coming up against younger players who are bigger, stronger and faster, and if they pick up a slight injury it will take longer to get it right Goals will come from Kent, vandenBerg, Harmes, JKH and the midfielders, they will have to, to keep their place in the team
  12. So once for Kennedy then? Kelly O'Donnell must have missed that game to put him forward as a potential trade GWS had what we have been craving, competition for spots, obviously the player who Bugg could take the role from in the team was obviously playing too well to be dropped, it doesn't mean Bugg suddenly lost the ability to be a player
  13. I think Bugg was brought in to replace Cross, played a similar role for the Giants, of course needs to get into the team Agree with Kennedy, perfect bench player for me now the sub role has gone, can play on wing, midfield or as a small forward
  14. So looking on the bright side then........can I ask how many times you have actually seen both Kennedy and Bugg play, probably not as many as the recruiting team, we seem to like what they draft these days, but not trade? From what I have seen, heard and been told I think 8 wins as a minimum is a pretty realistic expectation for this season
  15. Agreed, this year I am slightly more upbeat, we have depth finally across all areas, and some real young talent being allowed to develop, whoever is in the 22 each week will be there because they are consistently performing at a very high standard and deserve to be there
  16. Maybe he should give himself a rest from the site now and again like I do
  17. Another thread of looking over the shoulder, hands up anybody that has not taken a job for more money or a better chance of success, the hypocrisy displayed when players move clubs these days amazes me it is 2016 the whole game has changed for the better who knows
  18. I spoke to him yesterday, told me 2 weeks away from rejoining rest of squad, the rehab staff have a program mapped out for him
  19. You must remember Wiseblood not all of us still live with our mothers, as I have stated before I post for people who want to read it, I teally don't care who doesn't. I used to enjoy jousting with you, but I am bored with it now, a battle of wits with an unarmed man can become tedious, if you want to ask a question about training I will endeavour to answer it, if not would appreciate if you kept your inane comments to yourself, this topic is about training which some of us attend and provide reports, unfortunately some of us don't share the same opinion of some players that you do, you will have to live with it, when you are proved correct about a playetr, which according to you invariably happens you will be allowed to gloat I am waiting with bated something for your first training report for this year, that's if mum will let you out to play with the big boys of course.
  20. He told me before Xmas he thought he was still growing height wise, they are also building him up, but don"t want him too heavy The rehab group is quite big because as I've stated previously the slightest niggle and you are in rehab
  21. Actually it is good, the only mystery is White, all the rest are due back in full training in the next few weeks
  22. I asked about White and got nothing, which is what usually happens with somebody who is not training, if it serious website usually announces it, could be nothing
  23. King has just had a couple of issues, spoke to him today, he is just working back to full fitness, still growing, so trying not to break him Some of the low raking kicks were excellent, some were woeful I had a joke with Sam W re the step on Oscar Mc, said that was the first time he had tried it, being encouraged by the coaches, is agile so use it
  24. I reported a conversation I had with Jason Taylor about Hulett a while back, could be anything but shows the attributes to be an AFL player his size is an attribute only one of the newbies who wasn't pulled out of the last quarter of match sim
  25. Just a note on Hulett, he has put on about 2.5kg already, they want him to play around 95-98k, he is 92.5 at the moment, not bad for an 18 yr old, looking forward to having a bit of fun at Casey Viney’s tackle on T.Mac was beautiful. Tommy, as he does quite often, took too long to kick and Viney grabbed his wrist and right hip and just pulled him to ground. Not as brutal as the tackle on Tuesday, but as effective. agreed
