PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 22nd November 2024
MO FINE replied to Satyriconhome's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree. This is a fan forum and posters should treat each other with respect, not accuse others of lying. -
Even Robbo in the HUN today concedes that those in charge couldn’t be blamed for all the issues, and nor for the team going bang-bang in two consecutive finals series post the 2021 premiership although it became increasingly obvious the fans were on war footing. I’m in no doubt that every club has issues and many worse (hello Essendon, hello Richmond). Maybe, our fans are just hard to please.

Club in crisis - Media pile on - August 2024
MO FINE replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Bailey Smith is coincidentally an ambassador for Geelong’s major sponsor, Cotton On. Any integrity issues there? -
Since he's an over ager, does this mean he's no longer in our NGA (or eligible to be selected by us as an NGA?

Get set for lots of repetition, meaningless chatter, sensational headlines and irrelevant banter. A waste of time.

Like both Kennedy and Owies if cost not too great. Both were regulars at Carlton who were close to flag favourites before they imploded. Neither player was responsible for that and indeed, Kennedy was good for them. Didn't he stop Tracc in the first quarter when we played the Blues forcing Goodwin to move him forward?

This week’s match preview - the people speak
MO FINE replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think it should be mentioned that since that terrible day at Alice Springs is that the coach has benefited from some learnings and is managing the players so much better over recent times. An example is the way Clarry is being managed to get the best out of him in light of his highly interrupted pre season which has limited his performance from time to time. On Saturday, he spent a fair amount of time on the bench in the first quarter and was limited to just one disposal. He got into the thick of things as soon as the second quarter started and added 10 possessions to his belt by half time and finished the game with 25 disposals. It was telling that Goody went to him soon after the final siren and looked so pleased with Clarry and his contribution on the night. -

Hopefully, we’ll not only get the W but we’ll stay unscathed so that with the bye, we’ll have a few more back and a much healthier list.

I just can’t see the Eagles advancing much over the next decade even if they change their approach to recruiting. They could have traded three first round picks for their number 1 pick last year but I suspect Harley Reid will be outta there after a few seasons.

Did I read correctly that Casey’s next game is against Port Melbourne next Saturday 6th April at Kinetic Stadium, Frankston? That’s a fair trek from the inner city area just to watch a game of footy and get a Burraberger?

Well, the Herald Sun hasn’t disappointed this morning. The headline says TALL FALL AS DEES TAKE ON BIG WET and it’s about our uncapped defender Jed Adams who slipped in the soaking rain and faceplanted while in the middle of a kicking drill. Trainers were called, he might end up with a shiner and finally the club confirmed there was no fear of concussion after the slip. Meanwhile, Lachie Hunter’s sore calf kept him away from the main group but he “moved strongly and ran at good speed” and could “return to training with the main group as soon as Friday’s session”. Hallelujah! The club’s season is back on track. Thanks Herald Sun.
