Ok, thanks Macca, thats a lot clearer. But i still dont understand the process really. A group 1 is a grp 1 surely because of the grade of horses in the race? Europe has Grp 1 races and i dont think theyre waiting for a green light form Racing Victoria? It seems then it just local politics here, which is bordering on the ridiculous i would have thought. I didnt know the Golden Eagle was the first time its run either, thanks. Thought i just hadnt noticed it before, haha......7.5 M! Just crazy money hey. We wont have to have any more save MFC raffles.....just go and get a good horse! 1500m is always a strange distance i think.

I really dont get that? Top quality field of the best sprinters in the land at one of the best tracks in the land with the whole country watching. Why dont they just make it a group 1? It also makes it hard when you read the form and a horse has won +6m rubbles but only won a few races without winning hardly any grp races. Doesnt really add up sort of thing.

Managed to get the tri on the Cup by standing out Mer and Constantinople for first. Somehow i managed to leave out Con for 4th in my FF. Oh well. Constantinople was the run of the race i thought and i immediately got on for the Melbourne Cup.

Well when we include Binmans pick we are pretty close to the 5k mark. Worth a cup of coffee eh? By the way all 6 BBs place bets add up to around 20/1 depending on where you put it on. Not bad at all.

Me as well DZ. They are my 2 standouts. Both very tough fields though. Will be following Maccas routine and doing a few exotics hoping to snare the outsider who gets in among them.

Well actually i was just being sympathetic to someone else's post. Think ill just put in my best from now on. Jockeys make mistakes, theyre only human. They get paid a fortune to do a job and they are open to criticism if they make a mistake. Mark Zarah made $90,000 in 40 mins and good on him, but hes not infallible. I agree it was beaten by a better horse on the day.

Was a light hearted dig at the jock....he didnt see it coming not his fault. Does anyone know where to find the sectionals for that race? Caulfield Guineas....love to know what that last 200m was.

Oh no....Caulfield or Randwick? I had an ok day in the end. Was all over Black Heart Bart for a place. Couldnt resist after last week. Wont be 18 & 4 next start thats for sure. Had Nights Watch cause ive seen the painting in Amsterdam...haha.....was on Shadow Hero and Trekking. Trekking in the Everest....has to be a bet doesnt it??
