A Day at the Races
2k gee wiz mate. Thought you bet with cups of coffee! or perhaps that was Monkey? Nevermind. You have a right to gripe! That horse came last in a listed 1300m race last start didnt it? Perhaps when they were showing the Gatting delivery over and over last night for Warnies 50th we should have twigged! Still we came very close and we will get some good collects this Spring, im sure of it.

The Ashes - 2019
Hard to believe what goes on in Indonesia on a yearly basis. Ditto Amazon. Perhaps the next major war will be fought over climate change. Storm off to a slow start. Who did the Boomers lose to, i missed that?

The Ashes - 2019
I think the captaincy on both side has been pretty ordinary. They dont set attacking fields on a regular basis, in a series where the ball has totally dominated. I just cant understand it.

A Day at the Races
Nice winner in Mizzy Macca Jamie Kah nearly won on that South Australian horse Parsifal i just gave you! Just got done in the last 50m $3.40 for 2nd was pretty good i thought considering its form.
-
A Day at the Races
Yes well you sure dont ! But it does happen about once in a 100 races! As a possible get out, Kah is on an interesting runner in the next. She is ridding a horse Parsifal that had a picket fence in its last campaign and is 10 & 3.30. Just something i noticed the other day. To be fair on Bin, i dont think he actually reads our best bets sometimes, he just writes what he writes....but yes, that is our unwritten. Dont touch the bbs!

A Day at the Races
Heartbreaking. Jamie Kah is just one hell of jockey. Follow.

A Day at the Races
Yep come on Mystic. I just thought i might have been looking in the wrong spot? In the old format they were always in the box with the pending bets.

A Day at the Races
Are you across this new Brokelads website Macca? The format is kinda better i guess once you get used to it, although at times i find it awkward. They dont seem to have cash out offers? I can never see them anyway...

A Day at the Races
Dang, i really like the Spanish's....Reef and Whisper. Just always think the longer odds indicate something i dont know...haha. But ran well first up, so .... Fundamentalist 3 flops now. Goes into the wait and see book for now.

A Day at the Races

The Ashes - 2019
Agree. Smith could get 294....
-
The Ashes - 2019
It was a crazy move to put them in, you never do it unless there is a clear advantage. 294 is a good score, and we answer with 2/14. Smith and Charlemagne to the rescue.........Archer bowling well.

A Day at the Races

The Ashes - 2019
Went to bed at Tea. Looking at the stumps score 8/271, did they score pretty slowly in the last session? Getting close to 300 now, not good. 250 max i would have thought. Still if you hold your catches.....

The Ashes - 2019
Well its warm beer Macca thats the thing. If i was forced to party with that id be dropping catches as well !! Crazy shot by Stokes gets us off the hook. 386 the average score at this ground batting first.

The Ashes - 2019
It does seem a strange decision at the end of a very long Summer that included a World Cup. They added 2 bowlers basically & Broad and Archer look stuffed in the last game. We could have made a big score on this wicket, batting first and it would be all over. Easy to say in hindsight i guess, but im wondering because weve won the Ashes, do they think they can do no wrong? Going for the kill too soon? Good toss to lose perhaps. Like you say Macca, a dead rubber and it does have that feel so far. 2 dropped catches and even Smith had to juggle it 3 times. Siddle nowhere near it. Been partying just a little? Its only been a few days, perhaps we will get down to business now.

The Ashes - 2019
Not looking good so far. Why send a team in when you have the best batsman in the world in your side just itching to go..... Mind you Roots had 2 lives already. Surely cant last much longer. Lunch soon.

Farewell Sam Frost
.....probably just lost a footy he kicked..

The Ashes - 2019
Shall we start a "Changes for the Fifth Test" thread Macca? Much like our beloved Demons every week ! The side was down and out 18m ago and has been rebuilding ever since. Im still not that convinced on anyone except Smith and Cummings tbh. Take those 2 out and its a pretty ordinary side. But thats ok, the others will come on and there will be new additions. What to do with Dave Warner? Well he opens 1st test in Brisbane in the summer i think. Pakistan is it? Do you send him into the 5th test and tell him to go find some form which he may well do now the pressure is off, or do you give someone else a chance. Drop him down the order? Hes a specialist opener really, so not much point with 1 game to go i guess. Do you rekon they might play a few who havent had a chance so far on the tour? Its been a long summer so a few may well be rested. Onwards to the Oval.

The Ashes - 2019
I also think a big shout out for Joffra Archer is in order. Joff was the one who felled Steve Smith and Poked the Bear. If not for Joff, we may not have selected Kid Charlemagne, discovering a new No 3 batsman in the process. The Kid went on to help steady the ship in Smiths absence, forcing his selection to be retained, eventually leading to the hand-grenade delivery that sent Leech on his way and thus handing us the Ashes. Good on ya Joffra, thanks.
