Wadda We Sing

I have a wise old mate who has a method of selecting horses. Its not by any means the be all and end all, but quite an interesting weapon in the armory. Its actually very simple. Look for a horse in a field that has had 3 runs since a spell and has a win or a place at its last start. (So X472 for example). I know you can argue against it, for example when stepping up in grade or distance, where the first 3 runs dont correspond with the next start, but you would be amazed at how many times it comes in. Also there is usually only a few runners who are on that number. A good example is the Doncaster today, where all 3 of the placegetters had those numbers. Brutal X362, Dreamforce X813 & Hartnell X532. Its simply a good gauge i think, but sometimes when im stuck for choices i lean towards that formula. Just putting it out there.

Not really bashing the jockey, just didnt think it was a great ride particularly. But its all good. Tough race. I agree with you on the umpire excuse though. ive never bothered with that one too much. Staying away from DL for a while. Pissants is being kind. Thank God we have our little Oasis here huh? Yeah Tye Angland the terrible things that have happened to jockeys over the years. Tommy Berrys brother as well. Lest we forget.

Id forgotten about Bossy.....where did he come from? 49yo good effort. Brutal is a great horse Hartnell ran a great race for 3rd. Not sure it was the best ride on Alizee, but the Doncaster is always a hard one to pick. Had the winner and Hartnell in the Trifecta, but never saw Dreamforce. Yep thats racing. We will have a look at DZ pick next in the last at Caulfield.

Gee 50 Stars is tiny.. Like Fundamentalist for the place....$4.00 so honest in his runs and always runs a good race and always seems to get a great price. Come on Alizee

Well that TJ Smith was a surprise. Ossie ran a good race in coming 2nd, but the winner handled the ground better. Certainly an impressive win by Santa Anna Lane. Bring on The Doncaster.

A winner already, well done! Yes i came to terms with it last week also i think. I totally agree with you Macca. I have already posted 2 or 3 times thats it like the 90s, 1 year on 1 year off, of course to no avail. Thats ok im happy to ride it out and see what we can revamp for the rest of the season. Some wholesale changes will be made for next year i am sure of that. I think making Max captain would be a good start. A bit harsh, maybe, but hes the only natural leader we have apart from Lewis who wont be around. I hope DZ got out of there alive. Anyway, i digress. I sense a good day coming up.
