  1. I reckon you will be fine. I lived in Waverley Park for a few years, I can't see how they could practically close the sessions off. The residents would be livid too. Good spot to watch training, good viewing spot, decent Cafe, I reckon you'll enjoy it
  2. Thanks for the update. Any intel that pick 24 and / or 28 not likely part of deal or just your opinion?
  3. The bit I don't like about this is the pick back should be pick 28 not 24. There is a chance, however likely, that we can trade 24 for a future 1st. Does GC honestly walk away from this Trac deal over that?
  4. I'd be surprised if that's accurate, and concerned if it is. Personally I think it would have no influence on BH ultimately being traded, and in my opinion is just not a great way of going about things for a whole host of reasons
  5. I'd have to agree with this. What were they thinking with the Tan meeting? Zero upside and just really poor. I got the feeling from Lambs interview he wasn't impressed by the decision either
  6. I find it strange and also annoying that media don't make any effort to report on contracts $ as a % of salary cap. I genuinely have no idea what $900k annually looks like in 3 years time in comparison to where the salary cap is likely to be. As in this Flanders contract could actually be really good value depending on how the salary cap is likely to move. Or it could be really bad value. But nobody genuinly has any idea because there is next to no reporting on it.
  7. A lot of people inferring that Dannyz said he HAD signed? He wrote he's GOING TO sign. Therefore the latest report that he met with King and is now likely to sign all lines up
  8. I'm guessing these posts a couple of years ago are the area that is now been discussed. Looks easier to get to, walkable from Glen Huntley station
  9. Is it confirmed we only have 1 pick today, which will be Mentha? No more list spots after that?
  10. The same reason that club recruiting teams player rankings have also most likely changed since the season finished......
  11. This times 1000. First and foremost this is a workplace. Not a cool venue for members to visit every once in a while.
  12. Out of interest, do you live closer to Port Melbourne than Caufield?
  13. Possible option. WC may prefer 11 and Future 1st rather than 7 or 8 on it's own.
  14. North have 2, 3, 15, 17, 18 Dees have 6, 11, Future 1st Is 2 & 15 better than 6 & 11, I reckon it is, unless you really want Curtain and are super confident he gets to 6 and think 11 is much better than 15. Then Dees would throw in their Future 1st on top, which North probably wouldn't do because they may finish bottom 3 again next year. So they would have to match with another of those 1sts, and does WC think thats better than our future 1st? I think North are still favourites for number 1, but I can now see why we might be a small chance. And maybe why we were so keen move our pick 14 up 3 spots. We'll see, it's all guesswork
  15. This would be a sensational outcome. Worthy of enormous praise to the Administration if it comes to fruition. This home base issue is simply extremely complex and difficult regardless of how much and for how long we have all wanted it. In my opinion, the most importance aspect of high quality facilities and a great location is the attraction and retention of MFC staff. This caufield option seems to ticks a lot of boxes
  16. Caufield is just as good a location as the MCG precinct in my opinion. If you can set up larger facilities (oval, gym, pool, offices etc) it's a much better option. Multiple train lines run through Caufield. It's also a very attractive area for players / staff to live reasonably close to, which is more important than fans IMO
  17. From memory you mentioned a similar situation last year, and it was Tim Membrey. Him again?
  18. Hypothetical trade if Hawks get Bowes and pick 7 from Suns. Hawks: In: 13, Meek. Out: 7 Freo: In: Jackson. Out: 13, Future 1st, Future 2nd (North), Meek Dees: In: 7, Future 1st, Future 2nd (North) Out: Jackson Are Freo giving up too much? I think Jackson is worth a lot, the future picks effectively the equivalent of a top 10 future pick.
  19. Any idea if you need a member code for every ticket you buy today. Or can 1 code buy up to 10 tickets?
  20. If you're an AFL member with club support, you're a member of that club. Counted in the membership numbers, chunk of the coin goes to the club, club sends you the member pack etc.
  21. Also AFL club support melb with no email or code
  22. We are about to lose a ton of money from no NT then QB game. This after losing a huge amount last year. Would be a bloody tough thing to decide to do, but I have empathy to why they would
  23. I think the most important part of any new training facility is it needs to be super attractive to players and staff. That means the space needs to be large enough to house all facilities with room to grow and in a location where it's attractive for players and staff to live nearby or that it's an easy commute. Any facilities for fans in my opinion are secondary. However honestly if it has the above, it basically covers fans needs also. Players and staff also want access to good coffee and food, either onsite or nearby. If the MCG precinct can provide this then great. Otherwise in my opinion we should not be wedded to it
  24. In my opinion there are plenty of reasons why it may not be appropriate to publically announce a preferred option yet. They publically announced a preferred option of Jolimont a little while ago and going public in hindsight was a bad move. Fingers crossed we hear something soon ?
