Hogan has a lot of improvement still in him and every other club would offer a trade for him. Talk of trade is nonsense as we don't have enough A listers or key position players now. We need to replace Jones, Vince and Lewis in the next 2 years as well as a backup for Max. Trading Hogan out for their replacements will yield nothing. Gaff is a RFA and will come to us if the Eagles don't match his offer.

Aaron Hall of Gold Coast, quick outside mide who will be a lot cheaper. Weideman is being groomed as the 2nd ruck. Dalhaus doesn't impress and I think Gaff and McGovern will be too expensive. The loss of Naitanui complicates things as now they need Lycett more than Gaff or McGovern. They may be less inclined to stick with Gaff

There is a lot that can happen in the next 7 weeks but a quick look at the ladder predictor makes me believe it will com down (like last year) to the last game against GWS. The draw they had gives them 2 points we tend to overlook when the wins column shows up. I suspect it will be the same scenariuo as last year, must win last game at the G to sneak into the 8 and rely on other teams to win. I don't feel confident against the Cats at GMBH, I cannot remember the last time we beat the Swans and Eagles at home with all their forwards back. No easy and maybe 9th again

The proposed parkland is where the club held its family day this season. It is a great location and much better suited to being an open park and oval. The only drawback is it is on quite a slope so no jokes about downhill skiers plaease.

Jane02 wont kiss and tell but I will. Same source close to the Gaff family. If he returns to Melbourne MFC is preferred location. As RFA the Eagles can match whatever he is offered but historically very few if any clubs match offers made to RFA's. Sorry Jane

If Gaff returns to Melbourne it will only to play with MFC despite what others offer atm.

The throw away line in the news articles is that this has the approval of the AFL. Last week on radio one pundit stated that PJ favoured a succession plan as did some at MFC but the AFL did not like this idea, for whatever reason. Maybe they thought Mahoney was a risk or lacked experience. Pert's credentials are impeccable and far more advanced than any of the internal candidates. In some ways the AFL still owns MFC and dictates our fixture, where we play and who we appoint to senior positions. There is still a little way to go before we start dictating who we play and when and where. This has AFL all over it

You didn't mention Balic! I thought he was on a 1 year contract for this year. Agree McKenna if he cannot get on the park and similarly Vandenberg and when Gaff nominates MFC I suspect JHKH will be surplus too. Mitch King is a ruckman and they need time so doubt they would discard. Bernie and Pedo might get another year. Then there might be a left field decision like Jack Watts last year which no-one saw coming

Too early to call who is more polished. When recruited together all they wanted to do was play in the same team. Trac does a knee in year 1 and is a season behind. Gus has a great first year, gets knocked out and basically loses a season and a bit. I would be interested to see how many games they have played tgether. On the weekend, don't forget Trac spent 4 days in hospital prior to playing and was a little sluggish. That was the best game I have seen from Gus since his first year so it is a bit early to call who is better. I seem them as 2 different styles of footballer who will compliment each other and form a very formidable team with Oliver and Viney in the midfield. I like that each brings something different to the mid field and hope Angus signs up soon.

Well done Charlie congratulations. My son will be spewing as he is a Kangas supporter and rates Charlie highly and cannot belive the Roos didn't pick him. They couldn't get him as a father son as his old man played 81 games with North. I like the look of his play and it was Buckenara who suggested we got a bargain as he rated him at 22 in the drafte and the best key position player available.

Not sure why he was cut from brisbane Academy but he looks well balanced, has some pace and hits targets. Clearly the FD have kept an eye on him

There are some in Adelaide according to the news who think Lever shouldn't play this weekend as they are sure he is leaving. That is crazy IMO and thankfully Richard Douglas reckons while he is contracted to the Crows all they want is Lever's best. How different is the attitude from NRL where players declare mid season if they are going. We all believed Frawley was going and Roos played him up forward to groom a replacement backman but still played Chip. Adelaide demanding Trac or Clarry tells me they aren't coping well with someone wanting to leave Adelaide to return home.

I am happy to be corrected but did we not trade the Sylvia compensation pic for Vince giving Adelaide pick 21 which netted Matt Crouch who is a newly appointed All Australian. I wouldn't give the Crows overs for any trade as long term I think they have the better of that trade. The challenge as I see it is balancinging bringing in ready made footballers 3-4 seasons or more versus top end 18 year olds.

According to AFL site "Trengove of Port Power has spent the past two weeks in the SANFL, where he has been best on the ground in both games. The former Calder Cannon has attracted interest from Victorian clubs, most notably the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne, with his ability to play at both ends of the ground and as a pinch-hitting ruckman making him an attractive target.". He is a restricted free agent. So are MFC hedging their bets hoping for Lever or Trengove for down back? I doubt they want both.

Talk on SEN of Max about to ink a long term contract which is good. Slowly tying up all the loose ends and I don't believe Jesse is going anywhere. The one player I haven't seen signed up is Alex Neal-Bullen who has slotted into the mid field and plays his role. Does anyone know his contract status? If he is returning to S.A. will he be part of the deal? We have already got his best mate Billy Stretch contracted for 2 years and am surprised Nibbler isn't.

SEN also said that Hawks, Demons and another were right into Lever but Jason McCartney recruiting manager and Lever are good mates and the respective families are friends. The Crows will want suitable compensation. Re Frost he wanted to return to Melbourne where his family are cannot see him wanting to go interstate, nor would I want him to go as I obviously rate him much better than many others on here.

Zac is a much-improved player and provides run and grunt, but my preference would be to fill the gap we have in key position players before we get another mid.
