  1. I like the look of his play and it was Buckenara who suggested we got a bargain as he rated him at 22 in the drafte and the best key position player available.
  2. Not sure why he was cut from brisbane Academy but he looks well balanced, has some pace and hits targets. Clearly the FD have kept an eye on him
  3. And now pick 28 has been used by carlton to get their GWS player. Just got a bit easier if we want Fritsch
  4. Bulldogs have traded picks 28 and 30 for pick 16 to Carlton. MFC have shown that they are prepared to list or rookie Casey players
  5. Note the rumour came from a Kane Cornes tweet. This year Kane has been incorrect, rude and insulting with his tweets. I still think Lever is worth 1 first round pick only but they sound like the new Essendon
  6. There are some in Adelaide according to the news who think Lever shouldn't play this weekend as they are sure he is leaving. That is crazy IMO and thankfully Richard Douglas reckons while he is contracted to the Crows all they want is Lever's best. How different is the attitude from NRL where players declare mid season if they are going. We all believed Frawley was going and Roos played him up forward to groom a replacement backman but still played Chip. Adelaide demanding Trac or Clarry tells me they aren't coping well with someone wanting to leave Adelaide to return home.
  7. The Woods have more bargaining power than us as they have pick 6 and possible hand over of Scharenberg who is an Adelaide boy. Waldron on SEN keeps insisting that Lever is going to the Woods, RE Stringer, he has the sads as the coach told him some home truths at their end of season interview. Luke is not one to let some of Stringers behaviours go without comment. Wallis confirmed as much on radio this morning. If Stringer isn't prpeared to buy in them he will be seeking a new home. And no I wouldn't want him at Melbourne
  8. I am happy to be corrected but did we not trade the Sylvia compensation pic for Vince giving Adelaide pick 21 which netted Matt Crouch who is a newly appointed All Australian. I wouldn't give the Crows overs for any trade as long term I think they have the better of that trade. The challenge as I see it is balancinging bringing in ready made footballers 3-4 seasons or more versus top end 18 year olds.
  9. And while I think of it, sign him up on a Dusty like deal and lock him in for life. Once his team mates work out how to best feed of his lightning ball handling we will improve to the next level and he and Trac will be our marquee players. o
  10. Presented with his award as the best young player on AFL 360 tonight. Earned high praise from Richardson the Saints coach. Awarded to players in their first 2 years after making debut. It is also notable that Petracca also figured in this award third.
  11. According to AFL site "Trengove of Port Power has spent the past two weeks in the SANFL, where he has been best on the ground in both games. The former Calder Cannon has attracted interest from Victorian clubs, most notably the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne, with his ability to play at both ends of the ground and as a pinch-hitting ruckman making him an attractive target.". He is a restricted free agent. So are MFC hedging their bets hoping for Lever or Trengove for down back? I doubt they want both.
  12. Talk on SEN of Max about to ink a long term contract which is good. Slowly tying up all the loose ends and I don't believe Jesse is going anywhere. The one player I haven't seen signed up is Alex Neal-Bullen who has slotted into the mid field and plays his role. Does anyone know his contract status? If he is returning to S.A. will he be part of the deal? We have already got his best mate Billy Stretch contracted for 2 years and am surprised Nibbler isn't.
  13. SEN also said that Hawks, Demons and another were right into Lever but Jason McCartney recruiting manager and Lever are good mates and the respective families are friends. The Crows will want suitable compensation. Re Frost he wanted to return to Melbourne where his family are cannot see him wanting to go interstate, nor would I want him to go as I obviously rate him much better than many others on here.
  14. Zac is a much-improved player and provides run and grunt, but my preference would be to fill the gap we have in key position players before we get another mid.
  15. This is purely opinion but Jake Spencer is a RFA at years end and is a Qld boy. I would be loathe to see him go but he has been forgotten in the rush to get Max back. We need a back up ruckman but Gold Coast rely heavily on Witts and GCS may target Jake if we start targetting theirs. As an RFA we don't have much bargaining power either. As we know from other threads all clubs have the next 2-3 years planned for recruiting from under 18's, free agents and others who cannot get a game but may fill a role. I find Lyon's comments unhelpfull. We need to shore up our own stable and look after our a grders and reserves before we look too far afield
  16. Forget Kelly Zac Jones is according to "On the Couch" out of contract at seasons end. Surely MFC would inquire to his availability. He is a better kick than his brother.
  17. Are you suggesting he may play Ammo's next year with Collegians?
  18. Repeat ANB, Dunne and Garland are contracted and less likely to be moved on.
  19. Obviously anyone out of contract will be worried. We don't have a lot of picks and there is no sense clearing blokes if you don't have someone better or have a trade in mind. From previous Demonland posts listing 2016 contract renewals the following are for consideration Key position players I believe will be a choice between Dawes or Pederson, I cannot see us keeping both. The 2 Mac's are still be sign contracts Mids out of contract are Michie (upgraded from rookie list), Grimes (RFA), Newton, Trengove, M Jones. I would expect us to keep at least 2 of the five. Michie could stay on the rookie list or move elsewhere and Grimes can move where ever he likes. I doubt Trengove will be cast off after this season and Matt Jones hasn't had a bad season. Remember we are still a very young list and we need some experience and older bodies. I can see no future at the club for Terlich. Of the rookies I suspect King will be moved on and I am unsure of where White stands. Rookie upgrades this year were to cover Melksham the forgotten man and Mitch King. Michie may remain on the rookie list and Wagner may be upgraded or remain a rookie especially if Hibberd is coming. I suspect that unless Heretier's concussion issues resolve very quickly that he will retire. Dunne and Neal-Bullen are contracted till 2017 and Garland beyond that. So to leave they would need a trade and the club has not in the last 3 years dumped a contracted player. They may not if Hibberd is coming. Minimum reduction is 3 so I don't see a big list movement, maybe 4 off max 5. So Terlich, Dawes, Grimes initially, after that depends on the Macs and signing contracts and anyone who wants out
  20. Easy to see why Essendon never seem to be able to get trades done, much like Collingwood they are so un reasonable. Wouldn't it be funny if GWS trade Treloar to the Tigers because the Pies cannot offer up a reasonable trade???
  21. All I have heard this week is that MFC would be mad to get rid of Watts and Howe (AFL 360 Maclure & King and in one paper). At delisting time expect those without currency and out of contract who will not be offered new contracts i.e. Bail, Riley, McKenzie and maybe Terlich as well as the retirees Cross & Jamar, maybe even Hunt onto rookie list to a total of 6 and of. Roos said the other night uncontracted players like Howe can still be negotiating until end of October and of course Garland is a free agent. Any movement of contracted players is a bit more complicated and there are those who want to leave like those at GWS and GC who want to leave and those who don't want to leave like Jack who openly states he wants to stay. When did Beams move on from Collingwood? It was really late. I don't expect any major changes at the first announcement and no real surprises
  22. Gerard Whately on AFL 360 hinted Saints No 1 pick to go to GWS for an undisclosed player as they want Petracca real bad
  23. So many Pies fans crying foul over Beams and demanding their pick four yet think it is OK to [censored] Clark and give MFC nothing or a late pick. Karma.............. They have a reputation as the most difficult club to deal with in trading and expect the world in return for peanuts.
  24. Everyone talks of culture. Well forget about the personalities involved and whether or not you like Jack, a good culture DOES NOT GIVE AWAY ITS CORE PLAYERS and a good culture DOES NOT LOSE PLAYERS to other teams. Jack's confidence is shot and he is too scared to do anything because of the way he is treated (I cannot name my source as it will compromise their position in the club) so what sort of culture denigrates its players. What culture belittles a leadership group when you have been in an organisation for a week. Ask the board member who let it be known that the coach has had a blue with every member of his staff. Good culture don't leak like a sieve. PJ needs to send a message that we don't give up on our players, we don't treat them like dirt and we value their contribution and efforts and we want them to stay and improve. Fix the FD first and do it yesterday. I want Chip, Sylvia, Watts, Davey and Gawn all to stay because we will miss them when they are gone.
  25. Re Beamer & Martin and even Gysberts I care because they were all victims of coach Neeld. We have all forgotten how he sacked the old leadership group including Rivers at the start last year and cleaned out the club so he could get his players in and play his style of football. We all have short memories of his arrogant uncompromising attitude and angry manner (just ask players and staff around the club). There are 7 former players deemed good enough to get a game at other clubs that is an extraordinary number Well now part of his assessment this year will be the performance of the team he has built as well as the players he discarded. Our ruck stocks are thin and I certainly didn't agree with giving Martin away. It is only February but he will be judged this year and remember how we all couldn't believe how the team could go from 8 and a half wins in 2011 and hope for improvement that led to a bottom 4 spot in 2012.
