  1. As fantastic as Grundy has been for Collingwood this season, surely this stat gives Maxy the edge in the battle for AA? Mind boggling numbers.
  2. Improving by the week. I was particularly impressed with his game last night as it looked like he copped a nasty hit to the shoulder, yet was still able to display incredible strength and creativity in the stoppages. Expect a lot of centre bounces featuring Petracca, Oliver and Brayshaw over the next decade. Exciting stuff.
  3. Great minute from JKH!
  4. Working tonight which will require some strategically placed bathroom breaks for the occasional score check. Dees by 19 Salem as smokey for BOG
  5. Am I the only one not huge on Zac Jones? Not a bad player, but if he wasn't related to a certain Melbourne skipper, I don't think there'd be much interest in him.
  6. As mentioned above, although it's not a 'homegrown' milestone, it's still a significant milestone for both club and player. Also, aside from Neitz, does anyone know any other 300 game players who have donned the red and blue? Bit of a rare occurance at this club.
  7. Provided both Harmes and Oliver are fit to play. Out: JKH In: Kent Kent was in some great form before he injured his hamstring earlier in the year. I'd like to see him have another shot in the seniors.
  8. Considering Lewy's 300th game is likely to be a substantial talking point ahead of this weekend, I thought It'd be only right to acknowledge that his milestone will be shared by Dom Tyson, who'll notch up a century of AFL games (13 with GWS, 87 with Melbourne.) Although it hasn't been an ideal season from Dom's perspective, I'd like to take the opportunity, regardless of what happens at seasons end, to say thanks to our number 12 for his contribution so far to the red and blue!
  9. How about that handball that led to McDonald's third major? I hope we're all enjoying this because there's still another 10-15 years of his career to look forward to. Also, happy 21st Clarry!
  10. Bit of an overreaction on OMac. Was in seriously good nick in the first half of the season and was lauded by some on this forum as a potential AA smokey. No, his form lately hasn't been great but the same could be said for our entire back line since Lever's injury. JKH though is another story... He was one of my favourite players back in 2014 when he burst onto the scene when he kicked three in a NAB Cup game and played a neat forward pressure role during the year. Can't say I've seen much since to suggest he's going to be around much longer.
  11. This has shades of the West Coast game last year where we traveled to Perth without Jones, Watts, Hogan. We all know what happened that night. There's no reason we can't replicate the effort at the Cattery without Viney, Hibberd and Lever. Dees by 9 points.
  12. Its been mentioned on the Demonland socials, but congratulations on 50 games to Gus Brayshaw! All of Salem, Harmes, Petracca, OMac, Oliver, ANB and now Gussy have passed 50 games this year. Not a bad group. EDIT: On a similar note, Melksham plays his 150th game this weekend. Congrats Milkshake!
  13. Just heard that Marcus Bontempelli won't play this weekend. Apparently had his appendix removed.
  14. Watched the second half of the Casey game yesterday. Honestly could not believe that this was Vanders' first hit out in nearly two years. He was fantastic to watch.
  15. 254th this week. Played his 250th against the Dogs. We've since played Collingwood, Port and the Bulldogs.
  16. On a side, side note, congratulations to Clayton Oliver who lines up for his 50th game this weekend!
  17. On a side note, Nathan Jones plays his 254th game for the Demons this weekend and goes level with Brad Green on number six on the list of most games played for the club.
  18. Great changes. Amazing how much better the side looks with some pace! Petty seems like a great young player but seemed completely out of his depth last weekend. Frost should've been included straight after Lever tore his ACL. While his disposal leans more towards the 'tear your hair out' kind, he provides us with some much needed dash out of our defensive 50. Can take a mark as well. Garlett and Spargo in the same side is something I've wanted to see for a while. Hopefully Jeffy can re-consolidate his position in the 22. He may have the occasional stinker, but our forward line is far more dangerous when he's at the crumb of the ball. He's won a fair few games off his boot over the last few years. Also very pleased for Billy Stretch. I think he's unfairly judged by many supporters. He's still very young and I've seen him do some very clever things in the senior side. I'm hoping he's given a few weeks to show his ability.
  19. 6. T.Mac 5. Oliver 4. Jetta 3. J.Smith 2. Fritsch 1. Viney
  20. I believe Gus was in rehab when I arrived. Was participating in main group drills by the time I left. Don't remember him being too hindered by anything.
  21. Was still a great crowd considering the weather. Sausage sizzle and hot coffee easily best afield in these conditions - Cam Pederson looked in ripping touch. Beat TMac at least three times in some one on one drills. Looks a lock for Monday. - Joel Smith did some nice things although disposal was a tad ordinary at times. Don't mind the coaching group backing him in for the Lever role as I think he has more upside than Frost. - Mitch Hannan had his knee strapped and rotated between rehab and the main group. Didn't seemed too restricted by his injury. Obviously, expect Jeff Garlett to get the call up should he not feel 100% for QB. Speaking of Jeffy, seemed to be doing most things right aside from a bullet pass that landed directly in the hands of the opposition player (Charlie Spargo) during some match simulation. Sort of sums up Jeff's season so far - Kent looks very close to rejoining full training. Participated in a couple drills with the main group. - Jetta was Jetta. Good lord, he is a marvel to watch in one on one drills. Never gets beaten, even when he was matched up against the likes of Hogan and McDonald. Always broke even at the bare minimum. Happy to fill in any blanks if anyone has any questions.
  22. Pending on Darling's form/fitness in the second half of the season, I think TMac is a strong case to make the final side based on his current form. Hibberd made the AA squad last year after missing the first 4 or 5 games so McDonald is still every bit as likely. Also, Dusty getting the nod over a Cripps or Coniglio is laughable.
  23. Speaking of Jesse, when was the last time a Demon kicked back to back bags of five? EDIT: Just had a look, best I could find was Russell Robertson back in 2005.
  24. We've won the same amount of games over the last six weeks than we did during the entirety of the 2012 and 2013 combined. Quite a way we've come.
