If there is no drama, Caro will create some, it's her job I find myself constantly thinking she has pushed the relevant point at the time too far
-
I would think there will be plenty, the pies mini rebuild has their list in a really good spot at the moment, some really good top end talent and like us they tend to do alright with later picks

Players to target at the end of the year
Ted Lasso replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not sure what trade value geary would have -
We could realistically finish last again as depressing as that is, surely if the AFL considers that we might well finish last, we have lost Clark, and will more than likely also lose frawley, I think we have the case to strongly push for a pick, just a question of if they're willing to give us one given our past

If you watched Grundy play at the end of last year you would have seen he is an obvious talent, but these big boys take time I personally was shocked Grundy was taken outside the top 10

I'd hate to suggest it but surely if we finish bottom 3 again an application for a priority pick will be made, we're sitting on 37 wins in 8 seasons -
Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

when was the extension for the show cause notices granted too? -
I suppose if he wants 800k for 7 years GWS are about the only chance of paying that, James frawley is the only player they rate? haha wow they're smug up there in western Sydney haha Nathan Jones imo is a better player than anyone on their list

Mate, even that wouldn't help Neeld -
Lets be honest, if frawley leaves and that compo pick results in us landing Jeremy Cameron people will be saying Chip who? and marvelling at how we have without a doubt two of the most exciting key forward prospects in a long time

If he wants dollars and success the suns would be the obvious choice, the only downside would be moving out of Vic
-
Would be interesting if PJ asked the AFL to investigate a potential breach of free agency rules, not that it would come to much, i'm sure our club is doing the same thing

strange I have heard the opposite, he has interest from several clubs, and extremely keen to get home to Vic -
I'm not 100% sure, but I thought clubs weren't allowed to meet with the player personally during the season, just their management? I saw it too and it was obvious he has personally spoken to chip

A lot of slices of the humble pie might well be dished out. plenty of players that take 2-3 years before they start to get going at the top levels and go on to be elite -
I suppose the other thing to consider is all reports indicated that Watts had a verbal agreements with Carlton last year.

I hope Roosy asks him directly

if Bomber Thompson was coming on board it would presumable make us an even more attractive destination for Cameron Ling -
Big fan of the suns logo, it's simple but not too simple and really reflects the gold coast imo

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Ted Lasso replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was thinking about the coaching situation at essendope before and I think they're going to find it very difficult to maintain Bomber Thompson as senior coach, even if they would like to. I'd be assuming that Hird is on between 500-600k per year, and has two more years remaining starting next year, Bomber Thompson would require around 800k per year at least to stay on as senior coach if they decide Hird isn't the right man for the job, so that means the Bombers would be down potentially 2 million just in the coaching changeover after they pay out Hird and sign up Bomber at the end of 2015, that may not be possible if they have massive legal fees hanging over their head. I assume that they will fail in their court challenge, and then appeal to try and stall the investigation process for long enough to turn over the list as quickly as possible, the bombers are also paying the players legal fees, these could get very large very quickly, there is also the distinct possibility that the players may look to take legal action against the club if infraction notices are issued, I know I would. I'm curious what others think about this matter but in my opinion it would be irresponsible and silly to try and change the coaches as much as Hird doesn't deserve to have a place in the AFL anymore imo. -
I agree, I think Dom Tyson is a less essential player so they're happy to swap him for Josh Kelly but a bloke like Cameron is going to be a far more significant loss, if they feel they are no chance to keep him and we offer a couple of top 5 picks I think they will take it and run, I also agree that I don't think the saints will finish last, I think last will more than likely be decided by who wins out game against the Lions

I reckon a lot of them feel they are constantly competing with each other for limited spots, where as someone who comes into the mfc is afforded time to develop and some more senior role models to learn off, a super experienced and respected coach and a solid board and decent prospects for the future, the ability to play a lot of games on the MCG, it's got to be getting a few players interest
