  1. One of my favourites! Makes our team so much better. Intrested to see where he plays most of his footy, I absolutely love him off half back but I reckon he could easily be a gun wingman
  2. i personally would have a fully fit Vanders or harmes ahead of melksham in my best 22 but because he's the new recruit most seem to see him as ahead of them
  3. I think it's really hard to judge the value of a particular style of training with a general view, it might help some players, it might do nothing for others, the same way some coaches work for individual players more than others. I do believe these commando type training programs are aimed more at mental strength than physical when you reach elite level sport/fitness. I think we have a really young team that is going to get better with time and hard work under what is a really strong football department these days, and I am happy to back them in to get it right
  4. I might be crazy but I'd nearly be selecting stretch in front of Bernie vince
  5. Bit younger so haven't seen as many but 1. Jeff white 2. Jeff farmer 3.aaron davey 4. Cam bruce 5. David Schwartz 6. Todd viney 7. Jack viney 8. Jayden hunt 9. Max gawn 10. Nev Jetta
  6. oscar McDonald
  7. i reckon the boys had the Carlton and bombers wins banked before the ball was bounced and if that's the case it's something we need to stamp out very quickly. We can't afford to believe our own hype.
  8. Agreed pro dee, I just wonder if the Essendon game in particular was a result of a level of complacency amoung other things, which I think is understandable for such a young team that had been in particularly good form around that time having won all three nab cup games and won in round 1 as well. I understand your point that sides sometimes have a bad day and we need to find a way to win, and I agree but I also see a pattern against teams we start favourites against and that is something we should have a look at, can't afford to drop many of those games if we are to play finals in 2017.
  9. I hope it's that simple stuie, I do worry that a lot of our consistency issues might be above the shoulders though. Perhaps experience will help with that but our losses to Essendon and Carlton show we still drop a lot of games we should win
  10. I think I'd swap us and the saints around given third man up is now gone, max should have a pretty strong influence and our midfield looks strong and deep if we can get the same natural progression and development.
  11. I genuinely think we have some players of Fyfe level talent on the list already and don't need to go after one as much as say the saints who I think are a little more light on top end talent. i do however think we should have a look at a high quality free agent if the right option is there at the right price.
  12. He is backing us in, no more reality bus or rebuilding we are now a finals contender and anything less than a finals birth is a failure. Exactly the cut throats attitude we need
  13. That's pretty intense!
  14. This is going to in my opinion make max even more dangerous
  15. It's hard to put a goal expectation on a player because he is relying on players further up the field to be able to kick goals, but if we improve the way i think we should i reckon he'll kick 50 and average 8-10 makes a game. if his accuracy improves i could see him kicking 65 and being all australian this year, and if that happens we play finals
  16. Seems like there is a lot more to this than what it seems. seems like Collingwood were the big winners of that trade Clark= gone H = MIA Varcoe = solid best 22 player.
  17. I believe Jesse is capable of being a 60-70 goal a year mobile CHF but to get there he has a little work to do on his kicking, whether that's mental or technical i'm not sure but it clearly needs work. we're developing our spread of goal kickers with Watts and Garlett showing they're consistent goal kickers this year, Kent kicking 25 and Weideman looking promising as well but for Hogan as an individual i think his kicking is going to hold him back if it hasn't improved from last year, i would see 40 goals from him this year as pretty disappointing given his talent and the supply he should get. obviously there are other KPI's he'll have but i think he'll still be our main source of goals and we need him to kick 50-60 this year.
  18. I know a lot of people are really positive about them but i think that in a couple of years time they will be seen very differently, i don't think they have enough top end talent compared to the other young sides coming up and they are relying way to much on the older guys to hold things together. i can see them being a North Melbourne, consistent finals but not really getting close to a flag
  19. My opinion is personally if any athlete in any professional sport is found guilty of drug cheating they should be banned for life if they did so knowingly, i understand there have been circumstances under the WADA code where the athlete was silly or negligent and i believe 2 years is about right for those cases, but if these players have indeed cheated, and lied about it i strongly believe they and all involved deserve a lifetime ban from the AFL, obviously that won't happen though because $$$ matter a lot more to the AFL than justice or integrity of the contest.
  20. The AFL should have said Pick 1 doesn't reflect where their list is at and we can't penalize teams like the Brisbane Lions who didn't cheat so we're going to give Essendon their first pick at the end of the first round giving them pick 18 I think that would have been fair, Pick 1 is an absolute disgrace.
  21. Yes! regardless of whether they are as guilty as a lot of people think, they are convicted drug cheats and the number 1 priority of the AFL and AFL media in this and all situations like this should be to make sure that that is condemned! regardless of the personal opinions of those involved, these players have been found guilty of cheating and should be treated as such by everyone outside of their club.
  22. To win more than 50% of our games, zero losses of 70 points or more, and to see Genuine development in all of our young players. i'd love to make finals but i'd still see that as a bonus rather than an expectation, but we should be very close to the mark.
  23. I can catagorically say i will never go to another Essendon home game, i don't want to contribute money to a team that believes cheating is okay, and STILL to this day the players have never publicly taken responisibility for their own failings in this situation, they just play the victim card.
  24. I appreciate what you're saying P-man but the three players i listed in Jones, Dawes and Grimes are the three i view as being willingly moved on, where as Dunn requested a trade due to opportunity, so if we weren't going to play him in the seniors he was going to look at other clubs. i think Casey will take a hit, but i think they'll still be a fairly strong side with the natural progression of our younger players that will rotate through there this year, ANB should be better again this year and he might spend a bit of time there. I'd have also kept Grimes on for one more, he's an experienced player with an AFL body who would have been very handy if injuries hit hard at some stage.
