  1. Yep... with that slippery surface following the light rain it was a perfect scenario for an injury
  2. Must say during that last quarter on Sunday ... while I was enjoying the win I was dreading a late injury. Kept thinking... Take Gawn off etc
  3. Just noticed that the best players at Casey may (and I emphasise may) be listed in order of performance. If so they were as follows: Pedersen, Bugg, Hunt, Frost, White, Scott, Garlett I know people may not want to hear it but if you are picking on form .. Bugg was probably a reasonable way in front of Garlett last Saturday. Jeff had 18 disposals in a midfield that was absolutely on top including one on target snap for goal. Bugg had 22 possessions with five goals.
  4. How does the game feature in the phsyce of the town RGR. Does it have any sense of occasion or is it just a novelty amongst the locals. For that matter is the Alice an Aussie Rules town or a rugby league town?
  5. Port aren't a bad side ... they beat us well last year if I recall. Ex Tigers player Nahash (?) played a blinder. Very nice surrounds down at Port although having the same colours and theme song as the MFC can be a little confusing. And of course the famous Burra Burger not to mention the dim sims. Weather froecast looks okay if not a little cool so I will probably head down.
  6. I know it's only 24 hours but for me the site seems to be loading a lot faster. Well done guys. I see we are nearly half way to our donation target.... Come on let's keep this great site going
  7. For a player who only has one year of VFL under his belt he looks as though he belongs on an AFL field. Together with Brayshaw they have added so much to the team.
  8. Perhaps a Victorian club for China next year ... I vote for the Pies but seeing that it is such a high profile TV game why not send the "Friday night darlings" otherwise known as Carlton. "Gold Coast have said now that two games there is enough and they don’t want to go back to China next year. But someone will. Initially reluctant, the AFL has been persuaded about the merit of the game by the TV numbers and the scope for new advertisers and sponsors, so someone else will be dispatched to Shanghai next year. The Victorian government has said they are behind the idea of continuing games there, and would likely throw in some funding to give the idea added impetus. The federal government will not have been displeased that the game provided a thaw for frosty international relations. As a football match it was more trade mission than game. We can assume then a Victorian team will play Port Adelaide there next year. There is no end of Melbourne teams reliant on the AFL drip-feed, but presently none more so than St Kilda. Last year they received as much in their AFL distribution as clubs in the expanding markets. Logically it looks like the Saints in China next year." https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/4-points-free-scoring-dees-continue-to-excite-20180520-p4zgfy.html
  9. Ahh... I love it when we start changing the narrative... We can be trusted ... Wait for the headline !!
  10. He's not you know but your over reaction is almost amusing. Even if you kick 1:4 .. it means you have got the ball in the scoring zone 5 times...........not bad
  11. if only it was ..... Adelaide will have 80% support........ why do we play in the NT... money.. I know....... but it's only $50 per member and we could be back ... HOME
  12. Wonderful win ... we beat the four teams that we were expected to beat but what was good was that we are demonstrably improving as a team. Hogan playing up the ground together with the purple patch being enjoyed by Gus Brayshaw has been wonderful to watch. Fritsch seems to be growing in confidence by the week. Kudos of course to so many others including Lever and Tom Mac who have contributed to the last four wins. Lots to like and I will be disappointed if we cannot win the next three and turn at the bye at 8-3. Go Dees The QB game could be a 85k crowd if Pies win the next two. (mind you..hope they lose both).
  13. No changes is my guess but there are three areas for discussion. 1. If Bernie Vince is suspended.. who replaces him.. not sure 2. Does Gawn need more help in the ruck in Alice Spring conditions and are we prepared if necessary to use Tom Mc.... my thought is no change but you can make a case for either Weid or Pedersen replacing Smith who if dropped would be very unlucky. IMO the selectors made the Smtih over Pedersen call this week and they will be happy to roll that dice again. 3. Did Spargo do enough?... not sure but if he is to be rested I would play Bugg before Garlett on VFL form but who knows.
  14. Looks like they may just do that !!
  15. 6. Jones 5. Melksham 4. Lever 3. Tom McDonald 2. Gawn 1. Fritsch Great team effort
  16. Time for the deep whirlpool ??
  17. My man... number 31 strikes again
  18. Light rain falling during the half time break
  19. Strong second quarter. Repeat that in the third and we can enjoy the final quarter. Jones playing well. I thought brayshaw was quiet that quarter after a strong first quarter
  20. Blues just hanging in. Would be great to put on a good margin this quarter. And there's one to anb. Go dees
  21. Dodged a bullet there
  22. Great play dees. And a goal
  23. Let's hope we can get some scoreboard reward this quarter. Clearly the better team in that quarter
  24. Looking good... need to put it on the scoreboard. Lots of blues supporters. Need to silence them
  25. Come on number 31
