Having watched the Casey game i don't think anyone actually earned a promotion, but I guess it's a bit short sighted to think senior selection is based on one game.

Having watched several of these finals it's clear that the umpiring interpretations are vastly different from the home and away matches. The amount of time allowed for the player being tackled to get rid of the ball and the interpretation of the method of release as "knocked out in the tackle" is amazing. There has obviously been an instruction to allow this, and from my perspective it has dramatically improved the intensity of the contest. I wonder if the success of these games will cause these "new" interpretations to apply next season?, and how our newly acquired "contested possession" mantra will be even more beneficial if it does?

Generally agree with this thread except the repeated suggestion that it will take two more pre-seasons before we can expect any success. It's obvious that there will be numerous list changes, but at this stage we have no idea about the inclusions. How many will be trades? Mature recruits? Strong bodies etc etc. Now you may all be right about 2014, but reading these predictions makes me think you're all a little gun shy (understandably) after recent unfulfilled high expectations. If the fundamentals are in place, things can change very quickly.

The prognosis for his procedure will not be known until next year (after lists are lodged) so I suspect that he will be delisted and then perhaps placed on the rookie list.

All clubs would be envious of our lack of soft tissue injuries this year, so Misson gets a tick for that. If he's the problem then how do you explain St Kilda's successful recent history? Neeld cannot be judged until he is coaching HIS list, and they have been through more than one season. If the players listed are so fantastic, why have we been at the bottom end of the ladder for so long? The fact is we don't have a great list, regardless of draft position. We recruited poorly for a style of game not being played. Our better players are getting old and no-one has stepped up over recent years. A big cleanout, a different structure, and the dividend will pay.

The demise of the site was predicted for quite a while due to both structure and content. At the end of the day, the structure failed and the posters can join here, so the world keeps turning.

If Jamar is sore why name 2 rucks on the bench? No offence to Spencer but it's called FOOTball and if you can't kick....... I rarely understand selection policy and these confound me.

Hate to make my first post about delistings but having watched Spencer today on the box, i cannot imagine keeping a player who can't kick and who is so slow. I know he's coming back from a reco, but he couldn't kick before that either! With Gawn, Jamar, Martin, and now Clark and Sellar all able to ruck I suspect he will be cut.
