We certainly didn't help ourselves today and I say it every week but the umpires were shocking.

However, we have already raised the bar this year and Roos was clear that it would be a rollercoaster ride for this season.

This is one of those downs that will happen... but it would have been nice to dish out one thrashing this year and North would have been perfect.

Seriously though... if I was an umpire I would be ashamed of the decisions and non-decisions made today. We didn't help ourselves but wearing black and white stripes was a big advantage today.

Our players have a choice right now. They can pretend they've made it like they did in 2010, or they can use the good results of the past few weeks as a springboard for real development. I hope they understand just where they're at, and how far they still have to go to be any good.

At least I have confidence that Roos will be able to communicate this to them in a manner which will actually help them.

Its great to have that connection to the team from earlier generations, Todd Viney was a lot of peoples favorite player back in his day and he was a real heart and soul player for us a long time and a great skipper

Actually... If what I have read is true Melbourne actually lobbied the then VFL to create the Father/Son rule.

Carlton were the first to actually benefit from it.

Fair dinkum watching Game Day and they have Cotchin and Chaplin as panelists and you would have thought might have won yesterday. Cotchin 3 things we learnt was disgraceful. Could only muster up one positive for the dees saying how our big man stretched there backline then had the guts to say Ben Lennon is a younger player to watch in the future.
