  1. Hmmm, Not quite the same thing. There are no blends in real Italian cheeses. Worth tracking down the real thing otherwise it is like 'chalk and cheese' no pun intended but its true.
  2. I'm impressed someone on DL knows what that is!
  3. Make Hawthorn pay for it!!! They have all that lovely poker machine money just rolling in the door...
  4. Looks like GWS #21 is gone in a pick swap with the Lions. News Corp’s Marc McGowan reported on Wednesday afternoon the Lions are set to send pick No.15 to the Giants in exchange for pick No.21 and a future second-round selection
  5. Interesting there is no mention that the proposed TofR have been supplied to Andrew Newbold's legal rep... Equally interesting is that the panel will be 'assisted by' the Gordon Legal law firm. They do so much work for the AFL they could be considered an extension of AFL Legal so is it truly an independent process....
  6. Maybe so but let's find another way to sweeten the Grundy trade than giving Bedford away for a mere 6 spot slide.
  7. Isn't that like giving Bedford away for next to nothing? It is 6 spot slide in a very even draft. Every chance a player we would take at 21 will be there at 27. And if we get 21 Coll will demand it. Let them have 27 and we get a fair deal for Bedford.
  8. And on it goes: From The Age Here’s what employment lawyer Josh Bornstein told ABC Radio Melbourne a few moments ago: Based off [media reports] there’s a prima facie case of religious discrimination. If you say our values are that we don’t want to employ people who are gay or don’t like having women working for us who are pregnant ... then your values or your contracts or policies may run headlong into discrimination law. It’s a fundamental [point] that you can’t contract out of anti-discrimination law. You can’t have a contract that says if you fall pregant, you have to leave our organisation, for example. LOL. How stupid is that club to give Thornburn the 'Church Chairman or Club CEO' ultimatum. Blind freddy could see the religious discrimination in that. It would have been smarter but not by much if they used his forced resignation from NAB, after the Royal Commission, four years ago as the reason to stand down. The smartest thing would have been to do a proper search process and proper due diligence. Instead it looks like 'job for the boys' as the guy hasn't been able to find a job in the corporate world since the NAB resignation. But as always their cesspit is of their own making.
  9. Thank you. I shall delete my post.
  10. I reckon we will throw in whatever pick we get for Bedford and we are asking for better than #44 from GWS (the pick they received for Hill).
  11. The opportunity to edit a post expires after a few hours but not sure how many, maybe 4 hours...
  12. Can't have been that thorough a reference check. Should have checked Thorburn's preference 'club vs church' before giving him the job. Now looks like deflecting the blame. Ess are still a mess.
  13. The highlights make me sad that i will never see him in full flight again, well not in our beloved red and blue.
  14. Jayden's salary is about $400k and McStay's is about $600k
  15. The man has a right to his beliefs even as abhorrent they are to many of us. It comes back to the lack of due diligence for a cultural fit to today's AFL and general Australian environment. Someone messed up.
  16. In a way I think that is sad that someone could be hounded out of a job for their beliefs and the church they belong to. Someone at Ess ad the AFL didn't do enough due diligence on the cultural fit. Just shows some clubs just don't get the importance of being an inclusive club, not just in word but also in deed.
  17. He is just trying to save face as he started the rumour, propably for his own selfish reasons. As they say 'attack is the best form of defence'. I just don't like how he discredits good people.
  18. True, a list spot is needed which we have. But a draft pick needs to be 'used' albeit as high as 6th or 7th round. That upgrade 'draft selection' counts as one of the 3 minimum players each club needs to draft.
  19. Chandler will be upgraded with our last pick probably #86.
  20. The pick for Bedford is part of the #27 swap. As it will become a pick int he 40's its final value is a lot more than the points it currently has. Just saying we paid a hefty premium for # 27.
  21. I was comparing on a straight points basis of the swap. I'm sure the club has a plan for #27 but I'm surprised to give away such a big premium in a pick swap.
  22. Not necessarily. With 3 F/S and 1 Academy player in the top 20 a lot of mid range bids will be chewed up by matching bids. So a pick in the low 50's will come in to something in the low 40's. Not to be sneezed at.
  23. That is a lop sided trade. We give up picks worth about 1,200 points for one worth about 700 points. I would have thought whoever is getting pick 27 would do better with the picks we swaped Odd.
  24. TPP? They used AFL assistance picks. Not ok?
  25. Not when you consider his contract is for about $350K F2nd and F3rd is all NM have.
