You neglected to mention the plain FACT that these three/four of our brave lads are BALL players. The ones aforementioned by LDV and LH are not, and i don't care whether they won Brownlows or not.

I have a different slant on players from opposition teams being quite often given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to penalties being incurred during games against us. I think that the MFC is on the receiving end of a well orchestrated, "try it against this mob because you can probably get away with it........they are hated by Umpires, so stretch it to the limit" . Would i go so far as to say that it comes from within the Clubs or on field, anyone's guess, but i put it out there anyway.

Interesting to watch/listen to the lagging that was going on during last nights shellacking of the Cats, from both sides. If not from deliberate out of bounds to being too mean to "Danger", Ablett would have dobbed everybody on the ground in for doing something, while the little robot brothers, when they weren't too busy kicking in the wrong direction, were appealing for the usual "frees"

Watch out for the New Rules........... run as far as you like, push the nearest opposition player into crowd whenever the opportunity arises, talk lovingly to opposition and the judiciary. Cannot fail....

Does anyone else get that feeling, more so this year, that scores are being satisfied before the games have even ended??

Disgraceful performance of "magotting" tonight. Endangered players livelihoods, by not picking up and halting play in an obviously serious concussion situation. Tried to manufacture result by favouring Hawthorn and "Roughie" after their ceremonial burning during the week.Might as well not go for marks any more, not worth it. just tap to advantage. The word Maggot is not abusive. if one decides to add adjectives to Maggot like yellow or dead, the description itself would probably not stand up in court....anyone elaborate?? I have a pet maggot at home who is very good at cleaning up morsels on the floor, or in the bin and its the words yellow and dead that upset him the most.......his name is "razor" and he lives in my shaving kit......

In relation to your last paragraph, i think there could be a future technical answer to that , as is done in a not very tidy fashion with goal/point decisions. This is pretty rudimentary at the moment, but could be sped up gradually. I have rights to vent my opinion as do you. Umpires in interstate games were picked from other states for many years, why not now? This is a good conversation which at the moment i must withdraw sadly because of moving, Will watch.
