WELCOME TO DEMONLAND: DANIEL TURNER
Hampton 22 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Let’s hope he breaks Jake Bowey’s record. -
14 disposals last week, so I like the idea of a rest rather than dropped through poor form. He’s been pretty good all year.

4 more wins to finals!

Just 2 players different from the premiership team.

Why Petracca, Oliver & Gawn could be best Demons yet
Hampton 22 replied to Romey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Members’ wing at the MCG. Ball kicked high towards Robbie and his opponent. No other players near. There was never a question as to who would weave left, weave right, win the contest, grab the ball and kick it long towards the Melbourne goal. -
This is a good topic to consider. I watched AFL 360 tonight and immediately thought of the fact that should be so obvious to the 2 hosts - by nature, sport involves winners and losers. Every week, excepting a draw, there will be 9 winners … and 9 losers. Little surprise that despite the best efforts of the coaches and players, in any year, some teams are going to win very few games. It is far too simplistic to blame just the senior coach. The reasons for failure, as we Demons supporters well know, are often complex, deep seated and can take years, skill and probably a fair bit of luck, to turn around. Essendon are an easy target at the moment, and don’t deserve much sympathy from us, but the simplistic analysis this evening did 360 no credit.

Aptly named umpire in tonight’s Canberra game: Justin Power.
-
Presumably the first ever Demons player to have featured in (at least) 8 wins by round 5.

Thank you very much.

Would a kind Demonlander please share the link to watch tonight's game live please? Many thanks.

I’m beginning to think that Port aren’t very good

Bowey doesn’t understand what’s happening

A really well run, enjoyable day. All credit to the club for organising such a great event. Who would have thought - professionalism on and off the field. Wonderful to see.

Your weekend football trivia question. What is the significance of the following score line? Melbourne 53.40 v 25.18? -
Sliding Doors - Alternative 2021 MFC Premiership Team

One of the ‘team’ did actually play in the GF - and look how that worked out. -
It's the little things that make the whole
Hampton 22 replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
That this is Melbourne’s first ever national Premiership and to achieve it we have been victorious over 17 teams, not just 11. -
A few important omissions, such as Jack Viney and Steven May, but great viewing.

I’m wondering if there’s any chance of a book chronicling the year like Konrad Marshall’s ‘Stronger and Bolder: The Story of Richmond’s 2019 Premiership’

Yep - the Harmes steal was for me THE MOMENT. Magical.

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Hampton 22 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
2021 Premiership 50% better than all the others as we are top of an 18-team competition rather than the old 12-team competition. -
POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs

Special mention to the Demonland poster who this afternoon calmed me down with a detailed, and what turned out to have been a stunningly accurate, assessment of how the Bulldogs could win only if they managed to hold us to around 70 points. The poster thought this highly unlikely, and turned out to be completely correct. Apologies that I can’t easily find that post to give due credit. Go Dees. -
Even better, I’m wondering if anyone is going to livestream it.
