The AFL tribunal is a joke. Carlton argued that McKay was trying to ‘push’ - but with 2 elbows up that hit him clear in the head. It’s like the tribunal is so at pains to declare its independence from the AFL that it deliberately flies in the face of what the league claims it’s trying to do. Protect the head - but run at a guy with both elbows up and hit him in the face, that’s fine.

Is this the worst umpire bouncing performance in AFL history?

How good is the score review? Just really adds so much to the energy of the game.

We are doing ok. It’s hot, the Eagles have a plan, and 4 supporters on the field pretending to be umpires. I feel like some of our players are doing well. Jack Viney is growing with every game, Nibblers tackling has been great, and Fritta knows where the goals are. Koz needs more work on his goal kicking. It’s a raffle. He’s much better in traffic.

That knock was as innocuous as it gets on a footy field. I just can’t see how he, or his family, are ever comfortable with him playing a contact sport again. It’s only a game. He’s achieved so much and should be so proud of himself, but you have to think long term.

Clarry’s biggest problem in the Brownlow is the same as it’ll be for most of his career. He plays alongside Tracc. If he played on his own for almost any other club he’d probably have 2 already.

There’s not enough mongrel in modern day AFL. Not anything illegal or thuggish, but just genuine physical aggression. Daicos keeps being left along at half back to do what he wants. Collingwood would send Maynard to him and rough him and make him earn it, so why doesn’t anyone else? It’s odd to me. Throw them off, go after him. Rattle them a bit. It’s all way too nice.

This is what I could never understand about Taranto and Hopper. They both played all year last year in the same GWS midfield - which looked well off the pace. How getting them to Richmond this year was going to make them so much better always baffled me.

Just once will a team slow the ball down against Collingwood and make them defend. What’s wrong with going slower and longer into their defence when they have a hole in terms of size there? I feel like we are all being forced to watch them play every weekend and hear all week about how they play, only to watch the games where it seems like the opposition coach has never seen their game plan before.

Brisbane decide when to try. They were embarrassing in round 1. I hope they get shown up on the road this year.

They sat off us at the centre clearances consistently. They were always on the outside. I’ve never seen a side capitalise on our mistakes in the centre so often. I wonder if this was part of it.
