  1. You are insufferably negative today.
  2. It was a bad day for most. No need to stick the boots in, and write anyone off. We will need 3-4 of those guys to gain confidence and play a roll if we are going to go deep in 2023.
  3. Harmes is too good for this level
  4. If you get a chance go see David O’Doherty. He’s nuts.
  5. I’ve been called worse.
  6. Thought the same thing Jaded. Petty, JVR and Max must be the tall forwards. I like it. Lots of marking strength in that group.
  7. I could be wrong, but they don’t usually award the premiership on Monday nights in April.
  8. The delicious irony of Freo being up last year and then down this year is that there’s a really great recent example of this happening to another club and resulting in a huge positive, and it’s the absolute last story they want to tell.
  9. Well you’d know mate, so that’s actually really good to hear. I only watch on the TV and get really frustrated by the lack of support for us given the investment. 👍
  10. I’m on the record for never being a fan of this game, and it’s also on the record when I whinged about it a lot of Demonlanders shouted me down and said I was being short sighted. It’s worth noting that those that shouted me down were people who could afford the time and resources to travel to Alice Springs from Melbourne. For me it looks like a lot of back slapping and throwing around the term ‘community engagement’ - when all we do is literally show up for 72 hours and then don’t think about Alice Springs for another 12 months. It’s about money, and it always has been. Now it looks like theres no way that the AFL will schedule a game there next year, which just makes the whole exercise seem pretty pointless. If you’re following what’s going on there it’s deeply concerning. It’s probably not a place that should be encouraging tourists at the moment. The last thing that town needs is another bad headline. I hope things get better for the community in Alice, I’m just not at all convinced that us playing a game there has done much more than bring 1000 tourists in from Melbourne.
  11. And they served up garbage, so I’m sure they’ve been reminded of that all week.
  12. This is very interesting. By my count the losses are: Sydney x 2, Collingwood x 2, Brisbane x 2, Essendon, Freo and the Bulldogs. When you break it down to the sides, the context of those losses, and what we know about injuries in late 2022 the sky isn't exactly falling, but we certainly struggle against the best. For me the worst of those losses was the weekend. The form line in 2022 suggested we couldn't maintain the effort for 4 quarter. The form on the weekend looked a lot more like we didn't bring it.
  13. I don’t think booing individuals is ever ok. It’s why I was happy to see a fourth umpire added. Makes it seem less personal.
  14. I’ve been told different.
  15. Such a ray of sunshine. 🌈
  16. Oh gees. This thread is still a thing.
  17. Somehow in 3 years time in Adelaide it’ll still be 1998.
  18. I didn’t think the umpires had any impact on the game at all. We got belted around the contest and outworked on spread.
  19. Some classic ‘Demonland after a loss logic’ floating around here.
  20. I am, and will always be, a huge wrap for this current list of Melbourne players, but that was as lifeless a performance as we’ve put in for years. We got out coached and out worked across the ground, and we showed virtually nothing in response. I’m actually struggling to comprehend it. The Brisbane game I put down to emotion and context, but that performance I’m thoroughly confused by.
  21. It’s a very lifeless performance across the board. I’m actually shocked at a side that is this mature has looked so disengaged.
  22. I thought he’s much older than that?
  23. There is a woman in the crowd at Norwood with a Slipknot T-shirt on. How is it always 1999 in Adelaide?
  24. If the club is interested in a washed up has been, with no leadership skills, and a high level of self interest I’m available for a lot less than $1.1 mil.
  25. The savagery. I’m here for it. 🍿 ‘Make of this information what you what you will’ has just became my email sign off.
