  1. What’s Geelong learnt in the last few weeks? How to beat up on bottom 8 teams and win at home? They’d have no idea how they hold up under pressure.
  2. Any week that Fritta’s Mum and Dad are on the TV is a good week to be a Demons fan. @WalkingCivilWar tell Frittas mum she was brilliant in the post match. Loved seeing her and Maysy’s mum on the TV. They should all be very proud.
  3. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen us have so many options running by. Everyone was moving in waves. It was so beautiful. 🥹
  4. Tough night to be a Bride of Demonland. Heavy lies the head that wears the veil.
  5. I didn’t like seeing that. It was a horrible look for the game, and really cast a shadow over the last quarter and post game. It’s prime time Friday night. This is going to be a story, and I think Zorko is either going to look shady, or the reality of it comes out and he looks worse. Im not sure why anyone thinks it’s going away. Am I missing something?
  6. They call him the ‘Barometer’ and they aren’t wrong. 🥶
  7. He will be remembered fondly for both that clutch goal against the Eagles, and his ability to give Demonlanders a way to sneak a euphemism into their username. Onya Kenty!
  8. That list of emergencies is each in the starting 22 of at least 15 of the other teams. We have one list issue currently - tall forwards. Aside from that we are well stacked across the board.
  9. That was wild, and it was exactly the vibe in the Southern Stand. Anger, followed by utter silence, and then some punching happened. It’s hard for us to understand it in the context of how good Melksham and Kozzie were, but that was also one of the almightiest chokes in AFL history. Playing for finals. 7 points up with 2 minutes to play. I love that it happened to their horrible, whiny, entitled supporters. Their players are actually much more likeable than their supporters. They deserve to stay out in the cold for longer until they learn some manners.
  10. The disconnect between the way football is currently played versus how it’s reported on, and the amount of time reported on it, is becoming more extreme each year. It’s either painfully dumbed down, or so shouty and antagonistic that it’s objective is to become its own story. I always imagined that as your team became more successful you enjoyed and devoured more of the footy media to soak it all in. Sadly it’s been the other way for me. I find it dull and devoid of insight.
  11. Welcome. Stick around! Everyday here is a long, slow, painful redefinition of the term ‘supporter’.
  12. Is there a way to automate this comment so it’s automatically the second post on every thread? Will save a lot of time.
  13. Counting down the moments until some lazy journo reads this, turns it into a ‘Kozzy contract drama’ headline, and Demonland explodes in fury. We are like an animal that eats itself. I believe the Egyptians referred to it as an ‘ouroboros’ (but the good news is there’s a painful pedant here who’ll point out if that’s correct or not).
  14. That was right I front of me and it was so confusing. Also, Melk kicked a ripping goal as a result that was disallowed. It would have given him another goal, and it was a crying shame because his game was incredible and he deserved 5 goals. I really think he won us that game.
  15. I never understood, after finishing top 4 last year, how Geelong got a mid table draw, made easier because they play on a beach towel sized ground surrounded by 30,000 of country Victoria’s least intelligent people.
  16. No stress @Demonstone I’m overly sensitive because I’m still waiting for the weekends result to get overturned on appeal. 👍
  17. Yes, it only tells half the story because it’s only half the season - which is why it says clearly FROM ROUND 12. This place is filled with grumpy pedants at the moment, that want to argue with you about the things you didn’t say. Weird vibes.
  18. This will make you feel better. It’s from tonight’s On The Couch: Matches vs Top 8 teams since Round 12: Melbourne - 7 Freo - 5 Carlton - 5 Richmond - 4 Brisbane - 4 Sydney - 3 Geelong - 3 Collingwood - 3 We also played the Dogs in that time. We’ve had a hard run and come through it. Also, Jeremy’s Cameron’s done his hammy, and Essendon are a shambles. Lift the veil and look around. We are going ok.
  19. I liked that Ralph said Melbourne have already told him he is required to the end of the year regardless of what he’s doing next year. It seems like a mature, well rounded way to handle it. He’s done a lot of work and he deserves to see it through.
  20. The man who said the LGBT flag was ‘divisive’? It’s colours Neil. I’m sure you’ll cope.
  21. This is a great video. The ABC commentary is the best because they called the action, not the emotion of one set of supporters. Was also nice to see that Blues supporter lose her mind 4 times in a row. I actually feel for her - we’ve all been that fan as Dees supporters.
  22. Lever knew exactly what he was doing. There’s no way that our strongest player and our quickest player are at centre half forward out numbering their opponent 3-1. We NEVER set up like that. That, I believe, was what they trained for after last week. Don’t bang it long from the wing, go corridor and deep from there.
  23. Essendon’s board have all the emotional resilience of a Demonland Gameday thread.
