  1. There’s an awful lot of people who seem to love to criticise everything the club does. We don’t turn over the list! No one wants to come to us! Why are we allowing this player to leave! Why are we recruiting that guy! Have a little faith. Our winning percentage over the last few years is insanely good, and we have an excellent track record of recruiting and trading well. I honestly don’t know how some of you survived as Melbourne supporters. This is the best team, and club culture, I’ve seen in my lifetime.
  2. Ok, so I need to set aside 10k for consulting fees for the dates on the time machine. Good note. 👍
  3. You have a fake million dollars, what do you spend it on? Mitch Georgiadis? No. Instead i’d spend the fake million on a time machine, go back to 1986, move the Hawkins family to Alice Springs, wait for Tom’s arrival in 1988, keep him away from everyone, and pick him up for nothing through our academy. Bang! 15 years of a gun forward. If you’re going to get theoretical why not get weirdly, deeply theoretical?
  4. Lorraine at the bottom expects 16 wins plus 2 finals wins. Just for context Lorraine - 16 wins would have you top 2, so add the 2 finals wins and you’ll be in the grand final! Oh Lorraine. May your heart be broken by May.
  5. Another Scott on the TV every weekend. Sometimes life is cruel.
  6. I really hope the Collingwood supporters look at this as letting go of Grundy for De Goey. Then Brodie can become a multiple premiership player at Melbourne, and Jordy will do something dumb in February and waste their cash.
  7. You don’t know that we didn’t try. He said he only wanted to go to Brisbane, or stay at Hawthorn. Not much we can do about that. Just because we missed out on one player also doesn’t mean we are putting all our eggs in one basket. Quit throwing the toys out of the cot. Long way to go - in fact trade week hasn’t even started yet.
  8. You forgot to add that this is going to be the ‘busiest trade period ever’ - followed by a week of nothing happening that culminates in North swapping 2 third round picks for a Gold Coast future 2nd.
  9. Ask your mum and dad. It’s not appropriate for me to explain how it all works.
  10. It seems like an odd public relations move. A player with very public behavioural issues publicly declares he’s not interested in a contract with any behavioural clauses? Doesn’t that make it almost impossible for any club to put a contract to him without publicly acknowledging they don’t value their culture? Surely disagree to your manager and just put the feelers out to other clubs quietly? Unless of course that’s already happened and this is being leaked not by the player, but by Collingwood. In which case they may be trying to reduce his value in the market and teach him a lesson.
  11. I’m assuming you’re aware of these membership costs due to a notification about auto renewals? I can’t seen any info about 2023 memberships anywhere on the site. Am I missing something?
  12. I think we all know that you’ve got to have a combination of things go your way to have the ideal preparation. Collingwood kick one more goal in that first final and the sky would have fallen in on Geelong. Everyone would be saying their draw was too soft and it hurt them. This year taught me that there’s the plan, and then there’s this weeks version of the plan. It’s easy in hindsight to say anything was ideal when it won you the premiership. I think that thinking may have hurt us the most this year. You need a plan, luck, adaptability, and courage. Probably in that order. I think we only had the first and last of those in 2022.
  13. This makes sense, in terms of no announcement of his intention. He’s forcing them to say they traded him - because that’s the truth I found it interesting McStay nominated Collingwood before they announced anything about Grundy. Assuming De Goey stays I couldn’t understand how they possibly have the cap space to bring in McStay. This explains it. It’s a done deal, but he’s not going to do their dirty work. Fair play.
  14. Fingers are crossed. I’d love the ambition of playing Harry forward. It’d show we now know we need to score to win.
  15. I think we need a key forward. Not for the Grand Final, but for the season. We need somebody who helps make it easier for us to take advantage of our midfield effort more efficiently. They may not win us the Grand Final, but they’ll make it a lot easier to get there.
  16. You could see the moment on the siren when Hawkins looked over and saw Gary Rohan, and he clearly thought to himself…. ’I still reckon you’re an average bloke who can’t play finals, and shouldn’t have left his wife when she was pregnant with your child to shack up with our team Physio’. It was a nice moment.
  17. Not a great day for the ‘Bloods’ culture.
  18. In fairness to the Bulldogs last year they fought for 3 quarters but got rolled by the most demoralising and blistering 5 minutes of football I think I’ve ever seen, and it broke them. Contrasted to the Swans who have never been in this. Not for a minute.
  19. I can’t believe that any of the Swans players haven’t crunched in and try to make it slow and physical. Make it hard for them. Instead they’ve just rolled over. I reckon our boys would be a bit embarrassed today. May, Viney and Oliver wouldn’t have just accepted this.
  20. Sydney have shown absolutely nothing. This is gutless from them.
