  1. I feel like Hipwood gets off the chain 3-4 times a year because their forward line is stacked with potentially damaging players. In an ordinary side I reckon he’d struggle.
  2. They got pummelled by 90 points. I thought he was one of the only players who looked able to control the ball.
  3. Workplace romances are one thing, romances with clear disparities in power dynamics are another thing all together. Kyle Sandilands married his former assistant. I feel like that makes my point, and I rest my case.
  4. Aaron Hall had the most possessions for North and second most fantasy points of anyone in the game last week (behind only Tracc)… and got dropped. Clarko clearly ‘going to the draft’.
  5. Have you lived in Geelong? Saying it ‘offers more to young people’ is a huge stretch. I grew up there. The players like living there because it’s not a big city.
  6. Like Luke Jackson did in Melbourne, and conversely Kozzie didn’t? It’s horses for course, and a lot more to do with culture and the individual. This reductive thinking that ‘young people don’t want to live in Tasmania’ that you keep trying to sell is such an over simplification. You still can’t tell us why it doesn’t apply to Geelong - with half the population.
  7. Melk was the difference between the sides last week, and Box Hill are a good side with a lot of talent. I wonder if Max’s marking prowess makes it easier for him to play forward? Let’s not forget he almost single handedly won us the Carlton game last year, before Koz had his brilliant cameo. He’s a very talented player.
  8. I really hope the Naarm merch is as strong as last year. The scarf and baseball cap last year were, what the kids would call, ‘fire’.
  9. This image is giving me final scene of Willy Wonka vibes.
  10. How is Tasmania different to Geelong? It's got twice the population. If they get their internal culture right, they could become a very sort after destination. Kozzie doesn't want to go home - because the culture of our club is strong. Everyone goes on about eyeballs. There's a lot of eyeballs in Western Sydney - but less than half of a percent of them turn up for a game of AFL there. It's not as simple as population, or else everyone would be starting teams in Tokyo and Shanghai. It's also about culture.
  11. As an impartial football fan I think this is the most exciting announcement for the AFL since Adelaide joined. This is a genuine football state, that has provided some of the stars of the competition for a hundred years, finally getting the team they deserve. I can't wait to go there and see a game. I genuinely wish it nothing but financial and cultural success, not just for the people of Tassie, but also to show the AFL that it should look after the communities that already support it - before chasing after speculative communities.
  12. Last year, according to the media, we rated GCS at home as our hardest game of the first half of the season.
  13. I like your 3/4 length army pants in that pic. For some reason I always imagined you were taller Daisycutter.
  14. I’d be interested to know if he has any good recommendations for French restaurants in Prahran?
  15. Triggered? Me! How dare you?!
  16. Good footage of Ben Keays working over Nick Daicos On The Couch tonight. I think there’s a blue print there. He didn’t work back as hard as he did forward. That was very evident.
  17. Luke Jackson? I think he’s got a long term contract in WA.
  18. Thirty mother trucking six!
  19. I disagree with this. Scoring is now born from winning a turnover and going quickly through the middle of the ground. I know some don’t like it, but it’s high risk, high reward. It’s fascinating to look at the scores from the weekend. I think teams are now aware that they’ll turnover some, but it’s the most efficient way to score. Geelong let Essendon kick over 100 points. Most teams that won scored well over 100. So coaches aren’t trying to win 70 to 50 anymore. They acknowledge that they have to take more risks through the middle, and that they will get scored on if it doesn’t work. I also think this is having an impact on where teams are kicking goals from, and the subsequent effect on goal kicking efficiency. The game has changed a lot this year I think. Last year felt like competing styles. This year on the whole most teams are quicker and embracing more risk.
  20. I love how Collingwood winning annoys everyone so much that we start arguing with each other.
  21. I’d hazard a guess that the wind would be making it hard for marking forwards. Was really impacting ball movement that quarter.
