A month until television finals.
The heart beats true replied to leave it to deever's topic in Melbourne Demons
I like to imagine that my $30 of Kayo is divided into $7 alimony for Jerry Hall, Wendi Murdoch, Anna Murdoch Mann and Patricia Booker, with the final $2 going to pay for when Tracc is on 360. It makes it much more palatable.- 23 replies

My preference is that we win the quarter final by 15 goals, the Prelim by 20, and then I get a shock mid grand final week phone call from Goody, whose been covertly studying my comments on Demonland, and wants my football nous in the box for the big dance. Then when accepting his Jock McHale medal Simon says he couldn’t do it without me, and gestures me on stage, where I politely decline the medal (I’m not a narcissist), thank all involved, and then turn to Basil Zempilas (whose inexplicably been flown in to MC the event) and scream at him ‘Now for [censored] sake Basil, let Simon say a few words’ before ushering Goody up to the microphone to FINALLY have his moment. That’s my preference.

Buddy Retires Effective Immediately

Wait until one of your former teammates sons gets drafted. I pulled out the calculator and checked the math twice. Turns out the numbers don’t lie. I’m old. -
Buddy Retires Effective Immediately

I did find todays announcement very unusual. No comment from the man himself. They either have something special planned for later in the year, or he’s the new Tom Brady. -
What a shock. Both in concussion protocols. This should be a 100k fine. https://www.afl.com.au/news/992464/port-duo-in-concussion-protocols-afl-issues-please-explain-

I’m really happy for Bud. He’s had a brilliant career, achieved it all, and now he can return to his true purpose as a footballing legend… Supporting the Dees. -
It’s the nature of the teams we’ve played against. The Crows and Tigers played with a lot of run from stoppages. Adelaide have a great forward half so they want that high scoring style. Richmond got lucky with their scoring efficiency in the first half, but they also burnt us with run and opened us up early. With Brayshaw, Jordan and Viney on ball they tried to use speed to spread with Bolton and Martin, and it worked really well. Clayton makes us more dynamic in their. Goodwin feels as you do though. He said in the presser that scores like that ‘aren’t the plan.’

What They Are Saying at Punt Road
The heart beats true replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
Statistically the umpiring was very unusual. It was 8 free kicks to 2 Richmond’s way in the third quarter, and then we got 9 frees in a row over the next quarter. I thought it was over umpired in the last quarter. In the first half it seemed the umps stayed out of it. -
The current ladder is a great example of how uneven the fixture is, and how it makes teams look much better than they are. The Saints are 5th and I reckon every team down to 15th would pick them to play if they had to pick a side above.

Shaun and Bez do celebrity Gogglebox in the UK. They are as washed as you’d imagine, and have some hilariously confused banter.

I reckon we’ve seen 3 absolute crackers at the G the last 3 weeks. It’s been a brilliant reminder of how good that stadium is for live sport.- 129 replies

I think they might take it away from club doctors and make it independent.

I reckon the Tigers played out of their skins today. Martin was the best he’s looked for years. Shai is a gun and his speed from contest killed us. I’d be ok with that I saw from them today as a supporter. They tried to win. I like that attitude.- 129 replies

The media is going after Port for the handling of those concussions. The AFL will hate this. We all know the league loves a court of public opinion. I bet the rules change after this.

Doesn’t get enough credit for being a very traditional forward. He’s a finisher, and he’s done his job magnificently in the last month.

Have we officially found our full forward?

Balta is a strong player too. I really rate him, particularly one on one. I loved in the second quarter when Harry ran straight at the kicker a couple of times and it created space all around him. In wasn’t just his obvious strong marking, it was his leading with pace that really impressed. -
I’m starting to believe. That last quarter was very reminiscent of late ‘21. Fitter, better, for longer. Sound familiar?

I’m in an Uber to the grounds. No trains west of the city today. My Uber driver is a Dees supporter. Doesn’t rate us as a side. How did these people survive the 70’s, 80’s, half the 90’s, and most of this century? I don’t get it. This is the best, most consistent team of my life, by a mile.

I was just thinking about that Saints game. I chance to secure 5th spot. It’s just the sort of game they’ll cough up.
-
There’s a lot to like about Adelaide.
-
Yeah good point. I do feel like he’s coached relatively well, but I still don’t like their team defence or structure behind the ball.
-
Port look exhausted. Kens contract might end up being an administrative blunder.
-
I love that for Essendon

Ainsworth kicks the sealer from 55, turns to the crowd… and there’s no one there.

Any idea what Zorko accused Miller of then?
