Probably wasnt the downhill bits that created the need for the wheel though

Interesting the Joe will have to pay for winning the case His credentials as treasurer confirmed with his inability to place action over ideology.

Genuinely sorry I have trouble expressing through a keyboard sometimes. Yes the warming that may have been caused by the actions of humans (which much scientific data supports) May have been stalled by the actions of humans (which is too recent for enough evidence to be yet collected and analysed) Natural climatic influences that have been going on forever have certainly been identified and I am not certain that they have or have not been related to the hiatus you refer to. Will be interesting to see if the volcanic activity impacts in any way. But Ill wait for the scientists on that too The definition of natural is also confusing as mankind is part of the natural construct so even any consequences of our actions which seem to provide a trend of global warming may be considered by some to be natural influencers.

"I am openly supportive of the centre right conservative Government" Abbott certainly to the right of centre so far right his own party has trouble supporting him at times. Liberal party as the minority with a very right wing conservative rural rump may be centre right ALP is increasingly seen as so right that it is claiming the same ground as the libs. Gillard Rudd as a consequence of Minority government was beholden to the greens and other left of centre but still contained enough very right wing to bring it down. -
I like these options. Have always wanted red and blue opposed blue and red. If AFL insist on white the Invincibles is a good link. Red socks are a consistent key identifier for players and we can insist our opponents were non clash alternative. Well done. Will be interested in others responses

Not implying anything approved means approved under the legislation which was in existence which was where the debate commenced. Wrecker asked where was the legislation etc you identify it as "rubber stamp.......(for what ever reason)and yes it was "procedural" so seem to understand my nuanced argument that the Royal Commission is a waste of time money and effort ans it has found nothing but it impresses Wrecker Bolt and Bronwyn so I suppose that makes it worthwhile.

Carbon Dioxide has emerged as the most readily identified and I think from an economist view manageable factor. Don't think the hiatus has yet been proven as the result of any driver. At least you have not resorted to the simplistic it's all just a part of normal cycles. And no I don't want to return to an argument of what is normal.
-
Power bases? That's the way parties work. Ask Malcolm Turnbull or Peter CostelloRe workers rights The government legislated body that approved the agreement disagrees with you Or the Royal Commision if given the powers to examine that would be able to reinforce your contention But I don't think even Abbott wants to open that can of worms
-
You obviously need none but some including myself would like to know what caused the hiatus and I don't know how long that examination will take they may find that it has occurred due to something we have done

Not sure which centre right conservative government you support W Don't think Abbotts Liberal coalition fits that description. Closer to the Rudd minority government -
the part that allowed them to have agreement with the employer ratified. It's been a while since I looked up the act so can't refer to the exact sections but that's how it's done If the corporation didn't want to pay for services not provided by union or anyone else they don't pay. If they paid without agreement then you are right there was no legislation. Perhaps you don't want to consider answers you don't want. Which does beg the question why is the royal commission asking only Shorten when employers and tribunals were part of the agreement process. Oh that was the legislation which we are not attempting to demonise. Perhaps you'd like a three word slogan rather than a reasoned response. Stop the rot. I await the well paid commissioners decision and hope he can avoid commenting on individuals presentation style. Criticising Shorten for to expansive answers and then criticising him for too brief answers FCS. When he concentrates on the facts he will no doubt produce an outcome similar to every other politically inspired RC.

Would WADA be worried? Only significant new evidence which would support WADA case is likely to overturn parochial AFL decision

Sorry again wrecker refer to other thread for brief outline. But not sure if unethical as the increase in his power base directly gave his union and its members greater power. The perceived reduced workers rights used by the company to win contracts was the intended outcome of the legislation. Bill would probably also add that his members received greater long term benefit which was the rhetoric of the government of the day not so much in favour by our current infrastructure PM
-
Sorry Wrecker I did say "too recent and short term". My emphasis was on the recent which has not allowed the same degree of examination of the data that has been applied to the previous warming and other change records. The conclusions of the rapid warming led to many models being developed which has only just begun with the hiatus revelations. I also said some "minority of countries" China is one of the significant countries of that minority due to its total volume of pollution and the measures it imposed to reduce those volumes. Australia is a minor producer on total volume, but has a significant volume per head. As a developed advanced country if we wanted to actually have an intellectual leadership we should be recognising the results of the science and research which has occurred with more advanced and sophisticated technology and taking action.

You are wrong the legislation allowed the employer and the workers to reach agreement which would be registered through the process. It was designed to ensure flexibility for the employers, to achieve control and flexibility of the workforce. An admirable position. Unfortunately workers were also capable of using that flexibility especially when united (as in unions) Workers often saw that there were improved industry rather than employer benefits that they would benefit from if their individual employer changed and so industry benefits occurred and union membership increased. It is a little more complicated than that, the legislation passed was not intended to achieve that outcome but it was one of the results.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16
dpositive replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
How about the need for some consistency with the Casey team. Dont bring too many up and weaken that team Let them come up and learn the pace and what is needed at AFL seniors but dont let them become infected with the losing mentatlity. Drop a few of the newies so they get the taste of winning. JAmar played well last week and may provide relief for GAwn off the bench. Means a different style for Bears to adjust too as well. Howe well I give up. Reckon hes gone unless he shows some significant change to his game impact. -
If we DONT beat Brisbane I will ...

does this equate to min return of $350 (7x50) max $550 (11x50) for $150 outlay . Seems like easy money -

I know you meant chopper earl but it was delightful irony. with the need to police these sorts of activities. -
dc said something about " our ability to make major future technological breakthroughs rather than pissant things like carbon tax and windmills" I think we will need to use more sophisticated windmills and economic structures to accommodate the population (Millions of whom are moving not due to gcc as dc also points out) which can move into the vacant North of Australia, hopefully turn it into productive food generation without disturbing the spirits that recognised kakadu (uranium country) as sickness country. Might have to do something about the increasing intensity of hurricanes etc but that may be assisted by also taking appropriate action on guess what. It is an enclosed system after all.

Weellll Uranian mining and nuclear weapons are much greater global challenges, Middle East relations, population movement all much greater Food production and consumption of all production are all much greater. They are all related perhaps but Climate change and our action is minor as we can control it and have many proven monitoring and more sophisticated measuring techniques available to us Abbott won't be able to destroy all global action although some political actions do have long term impacts
