  1. Essendon first round team B: Fletcher C: Goddard F: Daniher (out, forgot he was at the club last year) rest....who cares.
  2. So now Tim has changed his position, they may have known about the process but they didn't know what it was. Why don't they tell the truth, James looked shattered because he was caught out. Whether it was misplaced trust or incompetence who nows.
  3. How can Tim & Andy believe that the club didn't know what was going on. A club with a history of lies.
  4. Fletcher has been carrying them for years another couple won't matter...
  5. Dank quietly left Essendon last year amid the fallout from the club's dramatic slide down the ladder. Melbourne Football Club has since knocked him back for a job in its own football department - perhaps a rare stroke of fortune for the tanking-accused Demons. If you have taken notice of the approach our club have taken to rebuild then you would know that there was no way we would employ him. Rare stroke of fortune my a... Craig and Misson know what they are doing and as Craig has been quoted as saying we won't reach the required levels until half way through 2014. Essendon were stupid enough to try and fast track something you can't do (legally and without complications). Even if they are not charged with anything here they are guilty of gross miss management and soft tissue injuries are going to dog that playing list for a long time to come. Bring back a club hero with no coaching experience and this is what you get, someone who listens to the wrong people, someone who appoints the wrong people. ...and where is that DH David King who was lauding the Essendon approach as far superior to ours last pre season. The tortoise and the hare Kingky, a lot of people need to go back and read that one. Including some at our club who have us embroiled in another issue at the moment. ...By the way this wouldn't have been a CS appointment it would have been Misson and/or Craig who turned him down. I hope we can hold these guys along with Neeld for quite a time yet.
  6. Guilty or not there is obviously an issue at Essendon of who is in control. As I posted on another thread doing an analysis of them as one their supporters so kindly did of us Hird has surrounded himself with insiders, his mates. There are divisive people in senior positions (one well known to us) because of Hird and as I said then and say again now it could well be his downfall. Couldn't happen to a nicer club. On another point, how will the players who took the whatever it was be identified? If there is action to be taken how will the culprits be punished, is there a record or will the club have to name a list...bet we could list who wouldn't be on it, Hurley, Watson, Heppel...
  7. Just a sideline issue but with Dank and the weapon's involvement with Manly do the Storm get their premierships back?
  8. These guys have a history of lies, in fact it was so bad that Patrick Smith gave away a lifetime of support in protest. I wouldn't think you trust anything that comes from the mouths of Robson, Hird, Thompson or Evans.
  9. Very ethical holding secret meetings in the Presidents office to get rid of Knights and take over his job, then denying everything.
  10. I think Taggert is a similar type player and I like the look of him more, Trengove and Grimes are others. If we get Wines we have another. Need to look at some good outside running ball getters, MacRae, Haynes, Garlett, Kennedy would be a better bet.
  11. Exactly!
  12. Like Essendon did when they asked for Hurley last year, and like last year Caddy won't get to where he wants to go. He is not a free agent, either a satisfactory deal gets done for GC (Wellingham will not be it), he stays or takes his chances in the PSD.
  13. Minimum ask will be Beams.
  14. You can guarantee GC will be looking after themselves, don't worry about that. They will be wanting Beams, Pendlebury or Thomas or no go from them. Remember last year they wanted Hurley from Essendon and the deal fell through. Caddy will go to whoever can offer GC the best deal, not who Caddy wants to go to. As for Adelaide, if they get pick 2 for Tippett my bet is they will pick up Toumpas and not Grundy, would guarantee it with Ox's 98%.
  15. We have a big bodied kid who didn't get on the park much this year in Taggert, strong mark, good kick, think he will be a ripper and at pick 30 ish..... Just saying.
  16. Maybe his mind is in different place at the moment. He seems to get a lot of raps, I just don't see it. Has the emperor got no clothes or can he really play?
  17. I'm with you Ben, I've not seen a lot of Caddy but from what I have I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Would rather keep pick 13 and use it wisely.
  18. Not sure about Caddy, hasn't really set the game on fire and have to agree with the post about this draft and the available talent at least in the first round. We also have Rory Taggert who is already a bigger body, good pace but yet to play senior football, good skills, elite kick. Would Caddy cost us someone like Stringer? Just thinking aloud with a keyboard, dangerous habit at this time of night.
  19. They have a kid called Smith who will be a top line ruckman, I wouldn't think it's high on their list and if it is they will have first shot at Grundy.
  20. F/S is done before trade period Pennant, pretty sure another club will bid for Danniher, maybe even us so they will be forced to use their first round pick. We are in the box position for Caddy if we want him.
  21. ...and I doubt GC would take him with his injury history, they would want someone like Cremeri or Stanton and that's not going to happen. so we are in a good position if we want him.
  22. Brian Taylor = Rex Hunt with hair.
  23. 7 are wasting their money covering live football, they should have paid for replay, crowd and bench shots and left the football to someone who actually want to cover what's going on. I swear I'm going to throw something at the tele if we miss any more live action tonight or if the producer looses the f..in ball again. Good game though.
  24. I think Mick Malthouse could be used more as he is on top of the current game and very much the same for Cameron Ling, you can see the respect he gets from and gives to the players in his boundry role but he would be a world ahead of most of those masquerading as expert commentators (Luke Darcy a joke for one, Kingggy, Lynch...........................).
  25. Ok, now you are throwing 2 different issues into one, development and trade. I agree with you that development is important and it is an area we have been sadly lacking. Trade for players is not such a big deal in my opinion. If we look at the yardstick in Geelong then appart from Ottens they have not traded anyone into the club for quite a while. They have traded some good quality players out for picks and that's what I would be looking to do. We have traded in Clark and Mclean out for a high pick, I know he was picked up as a high pick but for us to get what we got for him wasn't a bad trade. We're not going to pick up an A grader with a trade (I think you are alluding to that in your PS) and if we did the cost would be too great, we are better with astute recruiting and quality development to grow our own. Diamond Jim, Big Carl, Templeton, Croswell, Moore etc. didn't bring us team success. At the end of this season we need to see who has real currency then make decisions to trade for more picks or if a Kennedy or Mumford are around have a serious look. We are too late now to start to top up our senior players, that horse has bolted. It's now up to the new leadership group and coaching staff to show the way forward. By the way Tim Lamb's police experience might be a real benefit in interviews (interagation), I reckon he might just be able to sniff out a bit of the BS that goes on from time to time.
