  1. 'Jack', I think there is no doubt that McCartin will go number one. He didn't have a great championships but has been struggling with injury this year. As for our midfield; Petracca looks ready made, I'm not convinced about Brayshaw. Think Laverde maybe Fyfe like but could be just Murdoch and really like the look of Gore, not rated yet but if he has some good games at Sturt will come up the list.
  2. The AFL 'old dee', they didn't give us a PP. We should get one this year if they are serious about evening up the competition. It's sides like us that have born the brunt of the 2 new teams coming into the comp. That along with totally inept people running the club in the past has us where we are today. Roos can only do so much with this list, he's made a start but losing Clark then Hogan for most of the year hasn't helped. We need a serious injection of talent. The results at Casey are a good indication. People calling for changes, well who are you going to bring in? there is no one there worth a game.
  3. Correct 'Nasher', there is a reason why we are 15th. We've improved a lot this year but are still a way off the top teams. Freo are setting up now for a run at the flag, we're trying to get competitive. Some people need to grow up a bit here.
  4. Who put their hand up at Casey today? Riley and Nicholson the only listed players in the bests, and both show nothing at AFL level.
  5. Disappointing only 2 listed players getting in the bests.
  6. I would err on the side of caution, I think some desperate clubs may not.

    Round 16

Other way around 'Axis', Petrie's fingers went to Lakes eyes then Lake went for the throat the way I saw it. Would really like to see a slow mo of this one. edit: just had a look at video on the AFL site. They go to ground after a Lake tackle, Lake is on top of Petrie with his arm around Petrie in a headlock then Petrie's fingers go to Lake's eyes. Lake then pushes up and pushes his other hand down on Petrie's throat. I think Lake is the one retaliating.

    Round 16

Looked a bit red around the eyes after, Petrie was having a good dig. I would be surprised if they both don't get weeks.

    Round 16

So what would you do if someone was gouging your eyes?

    Round 16

They're running hot tonight. Interesting last Q coming up.

    Round 16

I'm not sure if I'm seeing things tonight but wasn't Lake being eye gouged by Petrie when he retaliated by putting the chocker hold on him. The commentators seem to have totally missed it and are focussing on Lake's reaction. Am I seeing things?
  12. Yep, and I think he did the right thing by the club but some within are trying to hang him out to dry.
  13. A bit hard on Leuenberger, probably the best of that lot but injury prone. ...but I agree with you on Wright. Looks to be a ruckman and the only reason he will go as a high pick is some desperate sides needing KPP's.
  14. I'm sure you are right there, it will be interesting to see how it all pans out at draft time. I think we are a bit more astute than in past days so lets hope for the best. I wouldn't pass up on McCartin if I were the Saints or Brisbane. I don't really see Petracca as Dangerfield like 'Machsy', he's very strong and takes a really good contested grab but he doesn't have the explosive pace. Would be a more polished version of Wines I would reckon. Do you know much about Gore? he really impressed me in that game. Really slick at stoppages, made good decisions with the ball and used it well. Also positioned himself well at times to stop Petracca getting at the ball.
  15. That's the way I read it too 'Redleg'. I seem to recollect something about this conference and Harcourt's speech being reported before but nothing much was made of it. Now it seems to be the biggest news in town. Maybe I'm dreaming...
  16. Brayshaw would want to show a lot more than he did yesterday for me to be happy with giving away a top pick.
  17. The point is not it's value to us but that no one is knocking the door down and until they do there will only be changes that have been forced through injury or suspension.
  18. Depends on if he gets rubbed out and for how long. We really can't touch an Essendon player until this plays out or if we know for certain that they have not and are not likely to receive show cause notices.
  19. That's why the Casey match reports are valuable to us supporters. It's pretty easy to see why Salem retains his spot as no one is banging the door down at Casey.
  20. He's (Carlisle) never been an AA.
  21. I've always thought they were going to miss Kerr and they really are. I think we've talked before about his off field behaviour but there is no doubt he was a key player for them and very underrated over here with Cousins and Judd taking the limelight.
  22. Agree with this, he looked good to me and may well be a steal at the draft.
  23. Would love him if he has a clean ASADA slate.
  24. Wright looks like a long term development pick but I think McCartin is probably the one. Injury interrupted but had some good form as a bottom ager last year. Petracca is very strong overhead, Brayshaw disappointing today but I did like Gore. Laverde has got some tricks, made some poor decisions at times but showed real class at others.
  25. Dean Gore looked good to me, have only seen him in this game so if anyone else has any more info I would be interested. It was how he worked the contest and used the ball that impressed me. Strong at it and a good decision maker on todays game. The pick of the mids.
