  1. Yeah mate I agree, Im not going against you at all. Perfect time to do it without coverage but winning culture is a good one and the effort and disposal efficiency for me was disappointing thats all.
  2. This was what I was trying to say in the other thread. I think weve dismally been unlucky through injury and also very poor recruiting.
  3. Yep I agree. Just an honest appraisal of where we are actually at. Still hoping.
  4. Im very optimistic but Im also a realist. Culture with change with success, even if its winning NAB cup games. I can certainly understand the heartbreak of some of the older generation, alot probably on here, I respect the fact they are impatient. You cant blame them for being disgruntled, but Im sure they would agree that at least we are heading in the right direction off field. Its the on field effort and execution that is the problem.
  5. 55 tackles to 48. Thats always going to happen when the majority of the time the opposition has possesion of the footy. However my concern still ls the fact that our skills are dredful. Apart from Watts, Jurrah & Tapscott there arent to many great kicks in our side.
  6. Its pretty obvious from what Ive seen of their games so far.
  7. Good post mate. Make some valid points. However how many of those top 20 draft picks are in our best 22? How many were drafted with injury concerns or now have injury concerns? And how many have poor disposal, especially by foot? Thats how they were recruited. Look at the Hawks, they drafted elite kickers of the footy. If our disposal hasnt improved by now then Im a bit worried. I love what Neeld is doing but theres only so much he can do, Prendagest needs a jail term for this!!
  8. As somebody mentioned, Adelaide have no problems with their game plan. I'm sick of people making up the same excuses. And if we were trialling things, then it still doesn't excuse our rubbish and always pathetic disposal and lack of desire for the footy and contest. Winning is an instinct, but not at this club. Winning form is good form and winning gets you more members and profitable sponsors. This team has no ambition or desire no matter which was you try to twist it. Stop frigging making excuses.
  9. Good post striker, Im keeping the faith also, Its just when I see the same things eg disposal, lack of effort it infuriates me. My wife has told me to tell you this: Cats: 2004 - 4th - Pre lim 2005 - 6th - Pre lim 2006 - NAB cup Premiers, 10th in the season proper. 2007 - current - speaks for itself. She is driving me nuts so hurry up Dees!!
  10. Thats it. The players are the only ones who can stop that though.
  11. Yeah mate and you?
  12. Yes. I hate Port fans more than Collingwood fans. Never experienced anything like it!
  13. I agree and I am fully aware of your post. However have we drafted the cattle?? And have we got the foot skills to succeed? Is where Im trying to go.
  14. All Im asking is where you think we are at as a team? Not the waffle you just stated. Why dont you sayhow good or bad we are? Im sure you have an opinion so why not say it? If you think this current crop can bring us success Im stumped, and I agree with you about the Bris game
  15. We can, but arent you a little concerned?? I agree with you mate but god I just dont know.
  16. Captain obvious that it is only the NAB cup, but in 4 weeks the MFC have dished up some pretty awful footy. I have seen enough to warrant some concern. Concern about where we are actually at as a football club. Tonight we were smashed by Port, yes we did have a few out, but so did they. We never responded when challenged and for me there hasnt been many positives in this whole comp apart from the same 5-6 putting their hands up every week. We seem to be still mentally fragile and look like our players just run out onto the field for their pay and not for the passion and success of what they are there for in the first place. Same old mistakes and skills are down, perhaps even worse in some cases. Big questions are, have we drafted properly especially compared to other clubs. Our first round picks have been a failure, not mentioning names as you know the list. We have snagged a couple of high picks which is a positive but our first round picks, the picks that are meant to bring our club from the doldrums are soft or have failed. A lot of people live in hope but I think its time for people, even me, to wake up and smell the roses. We are so far off the mark I wouldnt disregard another rebuild as the crop we have got now will not bring us success. Discuss amongst yourselves, I have been positive in hope but reality is we are an average football team.
  17. I agree fully. Add disposal to your list also. I was positive and crucified the NAB cup but after 4 weeks of it, Im actually very concerned to be honest.
  18. I thought this ship had sank?? Obviously not!!! Its back again!
  19. The honest truth is we are all living in hope. We have recruited so poorly in the last so many years. We are so far off the mark that we need a thorough clean out of mentally fragile players. We are years away from success and even thats not guaranteed. It is only the NAB cup but I have seen enough in 4 weeks to warrant saying that we are in a lot of trouble. Everyone, including me needs to wake up and smell the roses and stop dreaming, our players arent as good as we think. They are good B graders.
  20. Unfortunately he has never been able to kick. First thing I thought of when we drafted him. Will fit in well with the other spuds that cant kick and havent improved.
  21. Absolute fail. I said this 6 months ago and everyone went off their chops.
  22. People looking for excuses already with listing players not out there tonight. How many make up our best 22?
  23. I hope you are right mate. But we shouldnt be stressed out in a practice game vs Port dont you think?
  24. I agree with you - I was referring to our skills, they are still dredful.
