  1. Yes you are right someone could grab it by the horns that would be great
  2. 2 wins i have a bit of faith that neeld can beat that.
  3. 1858, on 27 February 2012 - 03:34 PM, said: Well in relative terms to top class mids I would agree it's not as big a priority but in isolation as an issue of discussion I would disagree - no problem each to their own. It is this kind of sentiment where this site suffers IMO. This is as relevant as any other thread. Do we dimiss any discussion about our rucks (they won't have any top class mids to palm the ball to), do we dismiss any discussion about our defence (they won't have any top class mids to kick to)? Our forward line is an important part of the ground - especially as we develop a forward press. We've discussed the need for a tall target for some time ( to the point where some promoted the idea of pick 12 for David Hale), such discussion didn't lose it's relevance simply due to our need for more midfield class. A small crumber is another component of our forward line, the club needs one beyond Davey and the discussion of this is as relevant as ever. I think the same mate of course it is relevant all the talk that you need a mid before we look at a small forward is not right if you are missing a key position you look at all your options we are not that simple as a club that we say no we cant look at this cruming forward we still need a midfield star. We need to fill a few holes on the list and we can attack as many holes as we can with the drafts and trade period along with free agency. This type of thinking will not happen in a football club they will explore all options to speed up the progress and development of the team we also have a strong hand to get the mid we all want with our compo so with our 2nd rnd we can look at a crumer or even trade for it. Cheers
  4. Davey is very good at his best i agree and might get that back this year but he is getting on in terms of AFL age so i just think it would be good to see whats around and rpfc i would not use any of the compo picks for a small forward you can get them with a trade or 2nd rounder i to think we need mids but i was just thinking one good small forward would help our quest going forward.
  5. I think 6 wins can be done but i must admit i have only one eye. GO THE MIGHTY DEMONS
  6. Nice work but i think you get the point i was making that all the top sides have players who play the modern small forward role which is cruming and pressure and getting to the right spots i to think jurrah could take this role but his pressure to date is bad for afl level no dobt he has the skill and neeld should get him going in this area even petterd is very good at his pressure and tackling sometimes so hope neeld will fix this but i still think we could look around to fill this role. Also think we might be a lot better in this area now we have a coach that really does no what the forward press is. Bailey said we had one but i went to every game and never saw it.
  7. Geelong = stokes 165 goals, varco 113 goals even Johnson 363 goals plays this role Collingwood= krouker 137 goals, blair 33 goals, beams 61 goals Westcoast= LeCra 234 goals, nicoski 61 goals and now josh hill 75 goals Carlton= Betts 215 goals,Garlett 99 goals As you can see all the top sides have good pressure small forwards i do think jurrah could be good at this role to if he gets his pressure up this year. Cheers
  8. Brisbane m.c.g win West coast p.s lose Richmond m.c.g win Western bulldogs m.c.g win St kilda m.c.g win Geelong skilled lose not by 189 maybe 30 points Hawthorne m.c.g lose Sydney s.c.g win Carlscum m.c.g lose Essendon m.c.g win Collingwood m.cg lose So i have us down for 6 wins and 5 loses my crystal balls is telling me
  9. Yeah i still think a small fast forward is a must have and sammy could play this role.
  10. Maybe but we might have 8 wins guess we have to wait but we do have a good draw maybe the best if we can get 5 or 6 wins in the first half of the year it will give us a real crack at finals.
  11. I think you will find the corridor will be no mans land all year.
  12. I agree but we have room in the cap i think? to maybe trade for one
  13. G'day guys just been thinking melbourne should really try and draft or trade for a top class crumbing forward. The small forward is a hole in our list in my opinion we have davey who is getting older by the day and might have 1 or 2 good years left we also have bennel and lawrence who are yet to make an impact at AFL level but a really good small forward is a very important player in the make up of a really good team. Stephen milne is a good example of a top class small forward he has 490 goals next to his name as a small forward he plays the role perfect.Having been sitting at the feet of Nick riewoldt and getting in the right spots for the last 8-10 years. Melbourne has Jack watts and mitch clark who will bring the ball into the hot spots for a small forward so we must get a really good quality small forward. We must make the most of this rebuild and a small forward is one role that's open for the next 5 years at our club. I have not seen much of lawrence but bennel is a fairway of in my view does anyone have thought on who is out there at other clubs or coming through the tac cup who can fill this really important role? Cheers.
  14. good call bad call?
  15. maybe its time for a change of sport
  16. Really good post mate and think you did a great job are you a coach? could not have said it better well done.
  17. Great to have a strong man who is not scared to get the dirty ball that has got to be neelds go to man for the queens birthday game he was talking about hope he drives all them magpie dirtbag's heads into the ground GO DEMONS
  18. Well you are just a bad fan curry & beer matt was almost best on ground the fox footy guys said and the sen boys. So you just dont like him and yes he was really good for a player who never got a run under bailey and i think if neeld thinks he has something to offer i will take his view on who is extremely averge. Why cant players get better and why cant fans give someone who plays for our team a 2nd chance or have you just payed out on matty to much in the past and you are to proud to give a little credit when its due.I have said bad thing about bate in the past but he looks like he has been given a new direction by the coach and is one player who could really shine in 2012. I for one will be hoping he does as he does still play for the red and blue.
  19. Very happy for matty bate he worked his but of and now is getting the reward keep going matty and you could have the break out year you need. Mark neeld made sure we held on to matty and looks like a master move so far.
  20. Bate was really good last night and you think let's bag him. Top support mate your a great fan. How about saying looks like you have worked hard and your getting the reward well done matty bate he was very good and if keeps playing like that he could have a really great year give some support to players when its due
  21. Im going to say it now we will play finals this year we will finish 7th 13 wins with one win on the queens birthday.
  22. You are like my old cd player on repeat and a broken record. Are you happy that energy watch is worth more than both our FOJ and BOJ from last year so we are allready in a better postion and chris connelly said the china deal is almost done in public that says its done to me. Cheer up thomo
  23. How does the game plan look?
  24. I am a bit angry we could not knock of a poor team like the gold coast it is the nab cup but we should be putting teams like this away bennel was shocking
  25. Yes i think it might take some time to get the gameplan running well so we will have to see some up and down games this year again but it should be alot better than last years form with such a big gap between our best and worst. Thats what i will judge the season on
