  1. T-mac normally kicks those and kozzie panicked twice when he had plenty of time and space to drill those snaps. Poor kicking is poor football. Make no mistake though we outplayed them everywhere except where it mattered most. If we don't win next week I'll be surprised. And angry.
  2. Dominated most of that game but our forward half entries were shocking. Why we went with 4 medium talls in JvR, T-Mac, Fritsch and Smith when we haven't done it all year and then leave a key defender out I'll never know.
  3. JvR, McDonald, Smith and Fristch. We've never gone this tall throughout the season. Meanwhile we've identified we play better with 3 key defenders and to allow lever and may to get their intercept going. So we drop our third defender. This was lost at selection.
  4. Surely we need to put Smith behind the ball. We have set up with three "talls" in the back half for most of the season. He plays tall and has closing speed and is not needed up forward.
  5. Btw, love the possessed marketing campaign.
  6. Thoughts on Jordon Sweet? May decide waiting 1-2 years behind Max is better than 2nd fiddle to English indefinitely. Ned Moyle is the other one I like but doubt Gold Coast will give him up.
  7. Missed out on tickets so will be watching on from home. Hope everyone here that is going has a great evening with hopefully a dees win to celebrate. If we're comfortably winning with a minute to go, an ironic Collingwood chant from the Melbourne faithful would be hilarious.

Interesting. Dogs apparently favourites for pick 4 as well.

    Like these little guys?
  10. If true, we could even target that pick as gold coast would again want to trade it out probably. Pick 10 for 18 and 24. There will be ways for us to get up the board I'm sure.
  11. Concerning about Smith. He would be a fantastic sub for insurance at either end of the ground.
  12. Presume Spargo, Tomlinson, D Turner and Laurie are all training with the ones?

I didn't really analyse it too closely. More just hope and put a slightly different look to it. Having said that, Brisbane and Collingwood going out in straight sets would be glorious. Can't see it happening though.
  14. This We saw last year with Brisbane that they were able to generate extra points for both Aschcroft and Fletcher with live trading on the night and did it relatively cheaply. 1. Brisbane gets 41, 50, 52 and 63 - Hawthorn gets 36 and future Round 3 2. Brisbane gets 40 - North Melbourne gets 63 and future Round 3 For a draft that only gives 50odd deep and speculation that most clubs will be taking only a couple selections (as mentioned by Paul Connors on twomeys show), clubs will probably be willing to bundle up multiple late picks to get as high as possible this year. Fair point re Graham, but again I don't see it as too much of an issue for them to find points if they choose to. Particularly if Chol and Hollands find new homes. Also a possibility they will be happy with their 3 first round kids and pass. Agree entirely on your last paragraph, this is all very much premature speculation and we will get alot better lay of the land come trade/fa period post grand final. I may very well be off the mark, these are all just my opinions. And as you say, we are in a great position.

  16. Duursma has been dominating the back end of the Coates Talent League and looks to be realising the potential people thought he had after starting the season off a little inconsistent. Definitely in the mix for top 3.
  17. Lorna Shore would be great. If not for the half-time entertainment, then perhaps our amp up song. "To the hellfire" would work well. *not for delicate ears
  18. 5381 subtracting 20% for their academy discount makes it 4305. 4305 - 4191 = 114 points. Their short the equivelent of pick 62. Outside of pick 4 they have picks 28, 31, 42, 47, 56, 60, 65, 69 Most of these could easily be traded down to cover the points if needed. That's before a potential 2nd or 3rd round pick comes in for Hollands. They aren't desperate for points, but any deal will have to cover the points equivelent of pick 4. There's a few clubs interested allegedly that could cover the points. The team that gets pick 4 will have to offer more than just points this year in my view. I'm all on board having a crack at pick 4, for either a bundled up package for Reid or two high end players. I'd be happy either way.
  19. I have no doubt they will trade out pick 4, apologies for not making that clear. My belief is that they will trade pick 4 which will net them 2000 odd points plus a future selection(s). There will be enough competition for pick 4 to ensure that happens in my opinion.
  20. Nick Bryan (essendon ruck), Harrison Jones and Tarryn Thomas have all re-signed for their clubs. Edit: Thomas hasn't re-signed but has committed to seeing out his final year of his current contract in 2024
  21. This is why I think it will be harder for us to get the Gold Coast pick than some think. Many clubs will be able to accrue enough points for this year and as far as I'm aware, no clubs are restricted from trading out their future first next year. Alot will come down to a clubs risk appetite and philosophy to trading futures. Another factor making this a competitive auction is the reduced list sizes and rules that only mandates 1 national draft selection. Many clubs will be looking to only take 1 or 2 picks max and promote a rookie(s) to make the mandatory 3 list changes. As a result, nearly every club could justify trading out the majority of their draft capital to get a top 4 pick, particularly in a draft that is said to drop off significantly after the first 6-7 selections (they say this regularly though).
  22. Can cross off the list. Has re-signed with the Suns for another 4 years.
  23. Would suit us perfectly I would have thought pending he passes a fitness test. Fills in that missing established key forward role that we have been searching for this year in T-Mac, BB and Petty. Should play high level footy until 33 paired with JvR which will give Jefferson plenty of time to develop and in theory be ready to take over best 22 responsibilities when he's hitting 22/23yrs. Does Richmond actually want to get rid of him though? And I'm fairly certain his contract was back ended so could be coming with a $1mil + price tag.
  24. Jefferson smothered the ball and centred a kick to the goalsquare leading to an AMW goal at the 8.15 minute mark of the last quarter. Not sure if he had any other possessions go uncredited. I only watched parts of the 3rd and 4th and didn't see him have any more of the ball then.
