  1. Pick 7 would be ours. You're missing Gold Coast's pick 6.
  2. I don't know this space very well but Caracella was supposed to have good wraps on him. Has spent time at Geelong, Richmond and now Essendon.
  3. That's actually a decent shout if we can't get our hands on that Gold Coast pick, which is looking increasingly unlikely. We get pick 3 and can choose from McKercher/Duursma and North end up with 3 picks in the top 7 (post FA and Academy picks).
  4. Cheers, that makes more sense.
  5. Article on sen in regards to suns pick 4. β€œIt will be changing hands. Whether North can compete with the Bulldogs remains to be seen, or whether North pivot and go for Melbourne’s first pick.” Swear afl journalists have such a poor understanding of the trade and draft period. In what world would we accept pick 14 and 19 for a top 5 pick. We don't need points and 14 and 19 will become compromised by at least 4 academy and f/s selections. Would roughly look more like pick 7 for 18 and 23.
  6. Online article on the Herald Sun website purporting to have the "latest" on Petty. Can't access it.
  7. If harmes goes to gold coast I wouldn't be unhappy with pick 5 and harmes for pick 4.
  8. Presuming they're encouraging North to trade their extra future firsts under the guise of it being possibly taken away next year if they improve.
  9. I wouldn't be opposed to grabbing a mid like Sanders (or McKercher if possible) and take Ollie Murphy as a key defensive prospect, assuming O'Sullivan is gone. Think he's got fantastic upside as a 200cm defender. He's skinny so will take more time but I really like how he goes about it, is aggresive and has good disposal from what I've seen.
  10. Guessing the oval has good energy
  11. Takes some kids a bit longer to adjust to the professionalism required. I wouldn't discount him just yet.
  12. How did Christian Moraes go? Kid looks a star and potential top 5 pick next year.
  13. Guess it's up to the Lions now to stop all evil.
  14. Don't forget this justification from the afl as well. Melbourne has a high level of young talent including Jesse Hogan, Jimmy Toumpas, Jack Viney (father/son selection at 2012 draft), Jay Kennedy-Harris, Christian Salem and Dom Tyson. - Melbourne was able to attract a number of experienced players during the 2013 Exchange period including Dom Tyson (2nd best and fairest), Bernie Vince (3rd best and fairest), Daniel Cross (5th best and fairest), Viv Michie (from Fremantle) and Aidan Riley (from Adelaide); - Melbourne may be able to trade Mitch Clark for another player or a draft pick and will receive a compensation pick if they lose any players to free agency
  15. They are but the assistance they receive will be separate from free agency compensation. That's not to say they won't influence or manipulate free agency compensation to what they want Strong talk of pick 11 and even future picks being a part of an assistance package. Could leave north with picks 2, 3, 11 and 14. 11 and 14 is probably the strongest hand for gold coast picks 4 (5 after fa compo) They could very well end up with 2, 3 and 5.
  16. Ben McKay has chosen Essendon. Allegedly they offered less than Hawthorn. Fingers crossed it doesn't trigger band 1 but all the noise still points towards it.
  17. Apparently hawks are into Chol now.
  18. [censored] Collingwood, [censored] Carlton. Also [censored] Brisbane (read zorko). I'm still angry about last week.
  19. Tom Fullarton maybe as another cheap option. Out of contract I believe but haven't heard about any specific speculation around him.
  20. Good crop of youngsters there. A few names I liked this year include:- Christian Moraes Finn O'Sullivan Levi Ashcroft Jagga Smith Harvey Langford Josh Smillie Tom Gross Jesse Datolli Isaac Kako Thought Cooper Hynes might have gotten a gig as well but not named. A lot of small/medium mid forward types.
  21. We should have plenty of salary cap space to go after a big target in the next year or two. While I can't see a "big fish" landing this year, next year has some tantalising prospects out of contract. In no particular order I'd be looking at: Oliver Florant (RFA) Hugh McCluggage (RFA) Ben King Aaron Naughton Tom Stewart (RFA) Sean Darcy (RFA) Tim English (RFA)
  22. Interesting, roos might not get pick 3 after all.
  23. I'd be all in but not sure how we get it done.
