Would think highly unlikely. We already traded out our pick 42 into the future and with the 2nd round starting at 30 it would be a massive waste of currency to buy back in. We're done apart from promoting D. Turner and hoping K. Brown gets through to the Rookie draft.

Going by the list you'd have to ask Brisbane. Our original pick 42 got traded to St kilda (for a f3) and St kilda then packaged it up for Gold Coast pick 27. 42 then disappeared in matching Academy bids.

Cal usually does a write up of all the trades that fell through and who clubs were targeting a couple days after the draft. He mentioned on his recap video that we had a crack at Roos pick 4 for Duursma and Hawks pick 5 for Watson. Would also be curious to see if we made a significant play for GWSs pick 7 and who we had in mind there.

Twomey confirming on his draft recap that we attempted to move up for Duursma then Watson.

I think we can apply occums razor here Tholstrup wasn't going to be available at 14 and we traded up. There may have been other hopes and designs for that pick to move even higher, but I think it's wrong to say Tholstrup would have been available to us at our original pick. Multiple articles pointed to interest from rival clubs starting with the Bombers at 9, St kilda 12 and Sydney 13.

Guess we won't hear for a while but will be interesting to see what numbers all our recruits will receive. Don't think we did a # reveal like some other clubs did tonight? Perhaps #4 to Windsor and #6 to Tholstrup?

Pretty happy overall, was hoping we could trade up for Duursma but wasn't to be. Glad that we've retained our future 1st as well. I reckon both kids will play some games next year.

Said it before but kid has some aggressive and loves a tackle. He may start outside as he builds his body but don't think he'll be pigeon-holed there his career.

Quite possible, this draft is as unpredictable as ever its seems and wouldn't surprise that clubs are doing their best to manipulate an outcome with disinformation.

Sounds like he's not really in our primary plans. If that's the case I hope the roos or hawks take him early and one of Watson/Sanders/duursma (unlikely) slide through.

Don't think I've ever seen such negative comments made public about a potential recruit in the lead up to the draft.
