Roos really shot themselves in the foot last year not getting Reid. That win hasn't exactly built a winning culture and cost them a generational player.

Dont mean to come across as a smart [censored] but they only give one days notice for Thursday, Friday and, as it appears, Monday games. I don't like it either and we should have at least had an extended squad tonight in my opinion. Bit of a joke that the senior team may not be announced before your reserves have played a game.

Also I'm liking the players we've been linked to so far in Battle, Moyle and even Angwin. Another mid would be ideal but I see a lot of promise in Angwin and he looks super competative for his size. Also would love to add Cumming to our defenders which may give a chance to promote Rivers through the midfield.

Great post. If Moyle stayed at GC he could also be competing with Mac Andrew in coming years who made a name for himself as ruck during his junior days. Can see a future where Andrew rucks and Read plays as a key defender.

Interesting that the media continues to push the narrative that we dont attract crowds. If I'm not mistaken we've been top 5 for attendances the past 3 years at least.

Goodwindees has an excellent track record of good mail that they generously share here, often well before it hits the media.

Have to disagree re Sestan. He's played one good half in the last month of footy and has been wildly inconsistent within games in my view. Tholstrup and yes, even Laurie, have been playing much better footy than he has.

This is a significant factor I feel. We went into retention mode post grand final and signed up our stars to long term deals. We retained our core players, lost some depth and tried to replenish that with other players outside of teams best 22 on low $ while attempting to trade as high as we could to bring quality youth. We should start to get some wiggle room, as early as this year, to make a play for established best 22 players rather than peripheral depth. Pending details on Brayshaws contract situation.

He's just starting to find his feet at VFL level, let's not destroy the kids confidence by putting him in a forward line that barely sees the ball. Next year will be the year for jeffo.

This seems logical. We need to get back to our brand of contest/defence. Can't expect our forwards to fire when we can't even get it in there.

I thought he had potential forward and we'd see more games like he had against Geelong. Sadly it hasnt been the case and we can't persist with this much longer. Get him back to at least regain some touch.

Wardlaw probably next in line and think Wilson is having a more consistent year than Windsor thus far.

After a slow start to the year, off an injury interrupted pre-season mind you, Jefferson is starting to hit his straps. Spent a few games back early in the season and when forward was perhaps impeded by our other talls in Brown, Schache, Fullarton, KFW and Verrall resting forward at times. He's now kicked 15 goals in 9 games with 13 of those coming in the last 5 weeks for an average of 2.6 goals a game. I think we're just scratching the surface of his potential with a seemingly solid ground level game coupled with a strong aerial game. He might not get a debut this year but I think he'll get more than a taste next year. Reckon he will pair well with JvR.

Still a long way to go in his development but I've enjoyed Adams intercept marks the past couple of weeks. Looks like he's growing in confidence somewhat.
