Now confirmed by Goody post match that Viney entered protocols on Thursday and won't play against Brisbane next week.

In: Petty, Viney, Melksham, Laurie Out: Jefferson, Fritsch, Oliver, Tholstrup I'm not a huge wrap for Sharp but at least he is fit and will give repeat efforts. Tholstrup doesn't look quite ready and not sure why we rushed him in off injury. Doubt Oliver gets dropped but was a liability today with some of his efforts. Give jeffo at least a month in the VFL to find and consolidate form. Reward Laurie for being one of Casey's best consistently, even if only as sub.

Is Viney available?

Really should have worked him into the Jackson trade a couple years ago. Perhaps we tried and were rebuffed. Think@Redleg was calling for it at the time.

Turner to go back as intercepting 3rd tall perhaps. Much prefer 2 talls in the forward line than one, if nothing else other than to give Max an adequate chop out while maintaining somewhat of an aerial presence forward. I don't mind these changes.

Of course there's a chance I'm wrong. It's an opinion after all. He certainly has a nice athletic package that gives him an opportunity to get him onto an AFL list. He may get his opportunity late in the draft or picked up as a rookie similar to Kynan Brown. I hope he makes it.

In: JvR, Johnson Out: Petty, Sharp Oliver in if good to go. Turner shouldn't be out of the team again unless injured. Would still have him as a defender though for his intercept ability.

Turner forward or back? Not a fan of a single key forward and Eagles have a tall forward line. Rivers presumably gets full midfield minutes

One of my favourite players already. Beautiful left foot kick, knows where to run and hard at it when required. Excited to see his development as a footballer and no doubt will see him run through the middle in future years.

A lot of moving parts to our tall forward line making it hard to predict where it will end up. Petty and Turner can play either end. Johnson was touted as someone that could play back as well and while we've persisted with JvR forward, he performed very well at U18 level in defence and could potentially move there. If Jefferson makes it, he looks mainly to be a forward while Kentfield has looked better behind the ball at VFL level. If we add Morris to the mix (more of a 3rd tall but plays above his height), what would our ideal tall fwd set up be? Petty, JvR, Morris Jefferson, JvR, Morris Turner, JvR, Morris Johnson, JvR, Morris Petty, Turner, Morris Petty, Johnson, Morris Petty, Jefferson, Morris Jefferson, Turner, Morris Jefferson, Johnson, Morris Or do we play with only two talls. And if we keep fritsch, do we play 2 talls + fritsch or 3 talls + fritsch. We were reportedly keen on Waterman last year who is also 191cm so we obviously don't see height as an issue and perhaps that type of player, particularly one with some athleticism and strong overhead, could complement our team.

Was ok but didn't stand out for mine. Worked hard defensively and marked well above his shoulders. Disposal not fantastic but conditions were tough. Didn't get a stack of it either despite us dominating the game and the disposal count. Unsure if he's time is still being managed.

This. Laurie was taken off at half time in round 1 to be the carry over emergency. Common practice for games played on the same day in the same state.

Mentha has some nice attributes but really needs to lower his eyes inside 50. Has burnt Jefferson twice today.

Conditions look exceptionally tough. Casey have done well against the breeze, hopefully our forwards will get an easier look in the second quarter. Most players playing well.
