  1. Only hazarding a guess here but I'm pretty sure it's fine if the pick was traded in a previous year. Last year when we did a pick swap for Langdon sending them pick 22? Later when we were trying to organise a pick swap to move 8 to 10 with freo, we were blocked from receiving the same pick 22 that we traded, instead involving I think it was Adelaide receiving 28 and Carltons future 4th. But since the bulldogs traded that pick 33 to Adelaide last year, I don't think there is anything preventing them receiving it this year. Can't confirm though.
  2. My guess is the trade will be Hannan + 68 for a future 3rd pick. 68 should come into the 50's and provide the doggies with more points this year for their academy selection while a future 3rd gives us trading flexibility as replacing that future 3rd round pick we traded to the lions allows us to trade our future first if we so wish.
  3. As per AFL website article the Giants are demanding a mid first round pick from the Bombers for Caldwell after being selected at pick 11 and putting two years worth of development into him. Perhaps I have a degree of shadenfreude when it comes to Essendon but this is music to my ears. Their behaviour and demands when it comes to the trade period is bordering on ludicrous and has done for years, its nice to see some pressure applied back to them.
  4. Wait, what space am I supposed to be watching? ?
  5. Sure, I understand the financial incentive for Geelong. Just wish they could allow a larger portion of seating for opposition fans. Probably wouldn't bother me if we didn't play down there pretty much every year. Wonder what the ground experience would be like with 99% crown dominance. Or vice versa. Guess our Adelaide and Perth fans would know. After thought question. Is there some sort of rules or legislation that demands some grounds have general admission seats? They have members, why don't they make every seat reserved or a variant of and prevent any opposition fan from getting in?
  6. Flip Preuss (who we have no real intention of playing in our starting 22) for a trade profit and get a cheap back up option for a nothing pick or as a DFA while saving some cap space in the process. Sounds good on my end.
  7. Of the games I've watched on TV down there I remember seeing our faithful attendees shunted to the flank halfway back into the stands. Looked like they only let approximately 100 members in while Geelong fans occupy everywhere else including behind both goals. Surely this needs to change, it's a bad look and reflects poorly on Geelong in my opinion.
  8. Just for [censored] and giggles. Pick 26 + 43 = Pick 16 on points value. Pick 26 + 43 + Preuss = GWS Pick 10 - Values Preuss @ pick 49 Pick 26 + 43 + Preuss = GWS Pick 13* - Values Preuss @ pick 64 *Assuming GWS get pick 13 for Cameron
  9. Pretty sure there's a drug for that as well
  10. Cheers mate, you're a legend ? Any word on if we're trying to get back into the first round this year?
  11. Still a while to go in the trade period and we can also trade picks on draft night. With Mahoney stating that we are aiming to improve our draft position I suspect this is only the first manoeuvre. With the likely departures of Hannan and Preuss we are likely to see further trades to get up in the draft, most likely trying to get back into the first round. There is also the possibility of these picks being utilised for a player be it Brown or someone else. Yes we did trade out of the first round this year, but if the recruiters have identified a player they like and want to trade up for them then I'm all for it.

If Collingwood are desperate enough about their salary cap dumping then they need to lower their expectations in trade compensation. They've made their bed, time to suffer the consequences of bad list management.
  13. Just for the laughs I hope Essendon do split their picks and then Carlton find another trading partner anyway. Still rooting for Saad to walk through to the PSD and be picked up by North.
  14. We've finally landed the big fish!
  15. Would rather a high pressure small forward than an inconsistent athletic medium marking forward that plays out of the goal square. We already have Fritsch, Hunt, Melksham and Petracca that can fill that role. I don't see him as an upgrade on any of these players. And if he has behavioural issues that is causing punch-ons with his own teammates in season then I don't want him anywhere near our club.
  16. If they're smart they'll trade him for Brad Sewell
  17. Mahoney: Lets offer them our 1st rounder and ask for a 2nd back Dodoro: That's a thought. Or, now bear with me hear, we ask for their player AND their first round pick. ALPHA DOG!!
  18. Can already imagine Mahoney and Dodoro fighting over trade negotiation tactics
  19. Seems consistent with our desire to move up the draft order.
  20. I wonder if our hand has become stronger in the Preuss negotiations after McKernan and Martin have nominated St Kilda and Bulldogs respectively. Mahoney stated on trade radio that we are in the market for a mature ruck/forward for cover but now the market is looking increasingly thin there. We tell GWS he is more valuable to us now as a back up ruck and will make him serve out his contract unless you make it worth our while. We then see how keen GWS are to have a starting 22 ruck or put there faith in mummy for another year.
  21. Adelaide haven't matched St Kilda's bid according to trade radio with Crows set to receive a second round compensation pick currently 23.
  22. Adelaide still haven't matched Brad Crouch bid with 10 odd minutes remaining.
  23. Oleg Markov has made his way from the Tigers to the Sun for a future 3rd round pick.
  24. And GWS has sent that pick 54 back to Freemantle for Jesse Hogan. Effectively Langdon out, Hogan in. A far cry from Freo paying pick 6 and 23 for Hogan only two years ago.
  25. GWS has sent Zac Langdon to West coast for 2020 pick 54.
