Suspect we tried to get up for Caddy- Welcome to Demonland: Caleb Windsor
- Do we still have pick 42?
No, we traded it out for saints future 3rd pick.- Welcome to Demonland Koltyn Tholstrup
- 2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Our 2024 picks based on the final ladder of 2023 13 31 (Syd) 48 (WB) 50 (St kilda - trade on draft night) 69- 2023 NATIONAL DRAFT ORDER AND SELECTIONS
Going by the list you'd have to ask Brisbane. Our original pick 42 got traded to St kilda (for a f3) and St kilda then packaged it up for Gold Coast pick 27. 42 then disappeared in matching Academy bids.- The 2023 AFL Draft Thread
Cal usually does a write up of all the trades that fell through and who clubs were targeting a couple days after the draft. He mentioned on his recap video that we had a crack at Roos pick 4 for Duursma and Hawks pick 5 for Watson. Would also be curious to see if we made a significant play for GWSs pick 7 and who we had in mind there.- The 2023 AFL Draft Thread
Twomey confirming on his draft recap that we attempted to move up for Duursma then Watson.- Welcome to Demonland: Pick 11
I think we can apply occums razor here Tholstrup wasn't going to be available at 14 and we traded up. There may have been other hopes and designs for that pick to move even higher, but I think it's wrong to say Tholstrup would have been available to us at our original pick. Multiple articles pointed to interest from rival clubs starting with the Bombers at 9, St kilda 12 and Sydney 13.- Hertz is the New Co-Principal Sponsor
- 2024 Jumper Numbers
Guess we won't hear for a while but will be interesting to see what numbers all our recruits will receive. Don't think we did a # reveal like some other clubs did tonight? Perhaps #4 to Windsor and #6 to Tholstrup?- The 2023 AFL Draft Thread

Pretty happy overall, was hoping we could trade up for Duursma but wasn't to be. Glad that we've retained our future 1st as well. I reckon both kids will play some games next year.- The 2023 AFL Draft Thread

Anyone have access to the sun? They have a live late-mail article and headline suggests a deal for Curtin could involve 3-clubs... Edit: could be junk q&a style blog with suggestions from fans- The 2023 AFL Draft Thread
No proofreading on that tweet. First I've seen Adelaide linked to Caddy.- Welcome to Demonland: Caleb Windsor
Said it before but kid has some aggressive and loves a tackle. He may start outside as he builds his body but don't think he'll be pigeon-holed there his career.- Daniel Curtin
Quite possible, this draft is as unpredictable as ever its seems and wouldn't surprise that clubs are doing their best to manipulate an outcome with disinformation.- Phantom Drafts 2023
Sounds like he's not really in our primary plans. If that's the case I hope the roos or hawks take him early and one of Watson/Sanders/duursma (unlikely) slide through.- Daniel Curtin
See adonski's post a few above yours.- Welcome to Demonland Koltyn Tholstrup

Don't think I've ever seen such negative comments made public about a potential recruit in the lead up to the draft.- Phantom Drafts 2023
MELBOURNE Picks: 6, 11, 42 Latest intel: The Demons were hoping to turn big moves into an even bigger move, landing two top-11 picks via trade period swaps, and offering their selections to West Coast in a move for Pick 1. They’re at the back of the queue for that trade though and it appears unlikely to occur. If there is a trade involving the Dees, it could be the other way, if the Eagles want to move for a sliding Daniel Curtin. If the Demons stick where they are, they should still nab two very good players, with Caleb Windsor surging up the board and into their thinking at No.6 along with Nate Caddy. With their second pick they’ve been closely linked to Koltyn Tholstrup, after visiting the forward at his Esperance home, while Curtin, Caddy, Darcy Wilson and Ollie Murphy would be considered if they fall this far. Father-son Kynan Brown could be a late selection. Best-case scenarios: One of Zane Duursma, Nick Watson or Ryley Sanders slides to their first pick, or they find a way to move up from Pick 11 and get two top-10 selections. Or if they hold Pick 11, one of Connor O’Sullivan, Nate Caddy, James Leake or, dare we say it, Daniel Curtin slips through. Worst-case scenario: Hard to see anything here for the Dees, considering they’ll likely take just two or three players and would be very happy to take Koltyn Tholstrup with their second pick should they hold their current selections - The 2023 AFL Draft Thread
