Not the first to say this but Levi Casboult for free could've been a handy pick up for us.

Finish it off suns. Hoping for a swans and Adelaide win and we are doing pretty well for pick 4 and keep top 2 hopes alive.

Zorko really cracks the [censored] when he gets tackled. Hope Gold Coast kicks on and smashes them.

Hawks need to make up 2 games and 10% with 5 matches remaining to overtake freo. Unfortunately freo have West Coast We need hawks to do saints in then hope for an upset against Collingwood or bulldogs (hopefully not us). Hawks play freo in the final round which could decide pick 3 or 4. Much more likely if hawks had held on against Richmond last week. -
These frees... wow

How happy was Markov getting a spoil on the ball there. Pies secret is happiness and playing for each other it seems. FMD.

Schache to play back perhaps? With D Turner out, one of our key talls surely has to play in defence. Can't fit all of BBB, Jefferson, Schache and Grundy into the forward line.

No jumper clash to see here.

Fair effort there. You can see how compromised this draft is and potentially can be. Makes me further keen on trading up for Reid. If North get pick 3 I reckon that opportunity shuts. If we opt out of the draft @Lord Travis I presume you mean with our later selections. We are unlikely to do better than pick 4 unless we can nab a future first off West Coast or North. Even then, bird in the hand and all that.

Think this is only true for Friday and Saturday games where the 22 are named with emergencies. Sunday we have an extended bench where the sub and emergencies will come from and Smith is a part of that.
-
Further to the Kangaroos compromising our draft hand discussion, one factor that hasn't been talked about much is that the roos have the right to match a bid for him due to his status as a RFA. Given logue has done his ACL, they are really short on Key defenders on their list. If they choose to not match a bid in favour of a high draft pick, they are essentially writing off the next few years waiting for junior development to come through while Corr and Young man the backline. They are in for a world of further short term pain. Why should the AFL encourage such stupid list management decisions. At least match the bid and force a trade like the mechanism is designed for.

Remember when we were denied a priority pick because the afl stated we had exciting talents such as Kennedy-Harris and Toumpas on our list. Good times.

The media hasn't referenced Brodie or his camp once when talking about a potential 3rd change of club. I find the whole thing quite disrespectful towards his character, who himself said he's a professional and will act as such when quizzed by a reporter at Casey.

Interesting bench. Petty, Woewodin, Harmes? One of McVee or Hibberd you would suspect. Smith for sub again. Think spargo makes us too small and if Petty is in I can't see Grundy being brought in just yet. Interesting that Laurie was carry over emergency and not named on the extended bench, they probably want to give him a full game at Casey again for fitness reasons.

He wouldn't have seen it coming.

Maurice Rioli jnr ruled out due to concussion protocols from s a training incident this week.

But the picks they receive can change. 8th make the grand final they get pick 17 or 18. Prelim lose would get them 15. Semi lose get them 13 and straight elimination lose gets them pick 11. Anyway, I digress. How about that Harley kid hey... looks good in a dees jumper.

I get that part. I'll try and clarify my question with another scenario. Say the 6th place team land there on percentage only at the end of the H & A season (equal points with 4th and 5th). 1st week - 4th lose their first final and 6th win theirs. 2nd week - 4th team lose their semi (to winner of 5v8) -6th team lose their semi (to loser of 2v3) Both teams knocked out in the semi finals. Is the 4th team ranked higher regardless due to their finish at the home and away season. Or does the 6th team rank higher because they've won 1 more game than the 4th team (both in the finals and in total if added to the H & A season games won total) I.e games played 4th games played 25 - W 15, L 10 6th games played 25 - W 16 L 9 My understanding is thats its still the 4th team at the end of the H & A season that's still ranked higher but never looked that closely at it. Cheers.

Just to clarify on the finalist finishing positions. Is it essentially the ladder carries over from the h&a season and the team with the highest points (percentage if the same) the deciding factor? Or is it like a new ladder starts for finals and goes straight to percentage based on each finals result? Edit: obviously elimination finals decide picks 11 and 12, semi decides 13 and 14, prelim 15 and 16.

Lol. He signed a 2 year contract extension to remain with us until at least the end of 2025 in that very same year. Seems footy personalities can just make up whatever they want these days. Nothing new there I guess.

That's some 4d chess right there.

Finlay Macrae is another mid that isn't getting a look in at Collingwood due to their midfield depth. I'll confess I haven't seen him play in the VFL this year so perhaps there are other reasons he's not getting a game as well. Seems to appear in their bests and has high numbers more often than not though. Anyone here have a view on him a couple years into the system? Might be an option if JJ leaves.

I disagree. If we can land Reid with those picks and still keep our first rounder for next year then that's a win in my view.
