I had that one down as a reasonable match-up. I expect both teams to improve and as you said, the Andy Reid return to Philadelphia will provide plenty of spice. Michael Vick vs Alex Smith is another reason to tune in. I like the Thursday night games ... too long between drinks otherwise and usually save the game for latish Friday night (our time) Gives us a chance to have a look at some the other teams in detail as well.

I thought he was coming to the Dees. Week 3 hey. Could be a 'Season Definer' ! He's a goodin' when on song ... Interesting schedule for a lot of teams If we go on last year's form, SNF leads the way with every game in theory being a top match-up. MNF is again strong with only 2 or 3 games that you wouldn't call 'Big' games. Thursday Night Football has a better line-up of games than last year with only about 5 or 6 games out of the 16 games in total being 'Non' blockbusters. Tough schedules for a lot of teams but if your team is good enough within your division, you'll make the playoffs. The beauty of divisions is that the other 3 teams have it just as tough. On the surface of it, the NFC looks the stronger conference again. If the Saints can rediscover their mojo then the NFC South could be a division to watch. 2013 Regular Season (when visiting this site, click on any team for that team's schedule)

  4. Why stop at Tebow? Rex Grossman might be handy in a back pocket and we could coax Favre out of retirement again. Bring 'em all over!

There's some good match-ups. 4 games on Sunday (our time) kick things off. The Rockets / OKC series has some added drama with James Harden up against his old team. ... from today ... Houston @ Lakers highlights

Steve Salisbury said today on SEN that the Lakers have a better chance without Kobe. His reasoning was that without Kobe, all the members of the team would work harder around the court and get into position to shoot more often. He went on to say that the players don't work as hard with Kobe in the team because he's so good. Find it difficult to believe that Kobe wouldn't improve any team. You'd reckon any decent coach would 'find a way' However, Salisbury didn't see them getting past the 1st round anyway (which would be against OKC?) Nash won't play tomorrow by the looks of it ... here's the latest with Steve's injury ... ... Lakers News: Steve Nash's Nagging Injury Spells Trouble for Playoff Hopes
  7. Yeah, you're right. Meant it as a general rule and probably should have been more specific. Made an adjustment.

Ok, all decided tomorrow. For those with cable, ESPN have the Lakers game vs Houston on live from 12.30pm. Keeping in mind that the Utah @ Memphis game (10.00am start our time) will probably be decided by the time the LA game starts. Utah have to win to keep their hopes alive. Memphis can grab the 4 seed from the Clippers if the Clippers lose at Sacramento. The Clippers @ Sacramento game is on at 12.30pm (our time) Not sure on the status of the tie break between Golden State / Houston or Houston / Lakers
  9. It starts with a great Board/Administration. If they are great, they will almost definitely make all the right appointments. Those appointments should then make all the right decisions = Successful on field team. It always starts from the top.

Shouldn't be too far away ... ... Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews close to new contracts? As for your bloke Strafford ... the latest? ... NFL free agent news: Bengals, James Harrison 'hit snag' in talks
  11. You're wrong. I talk about change and having strong leadership from the top. I have previously offered opinions on how the club could go about it. I'm not going to repeat myself. Read what I've previously posted. That change at the top has already started. We just parted ways with our CEO. (although I don't agree with how it was handled)
  12. Careful billy, you may get accused of having an 'Identity crisis' if you dare to question anything the club has done in the last 6+ years. lol
  13. You continue to miscontrue my words to try and win an argument. I'm not going to debate you if you twist my words. You keep mentioning finals and names whilst I'm holding everyone and everything to account. The strategy I was alluding to involves everyone at the club.
  14. Of course I do. I wouldn't have said it otherwise. You're trying to bring the debate to a 'Why aren't we playing finals' dumb down discussion and it won't work. I've described a club performing in a totally abysmal way. How do you believe the club has performed in the last 6+ years? Stick to the facts if you can.
  15. What the hell are you talking about? I made no comment about finals and don't intend to. You're trying to side-track the issue it won't work. My original comments in this thread was about the club (from the top down) never talking about winning games. I stand by those comments.
  16. Read my posts #49, #69, #71 and #73 on this thread.
  17. The long term strategy could easily be totally wrong. Have you entertained that thought? Or do you just 'buy in' because they asked you to?
  18. At various times in the clubs history. I don't want to argue with you for 2 days. It's pointless. You have your opinion and it's doubtful you'll change your mind. I've said what I've said and I don't want to repeat myself.
  19. Right now, the people in place are performing poorly. From the top down. And we have a history of performing poorly. Especially in the last 6+ years.
  20. Are you sure about that re Cameron Schwab?
  21. Satyriconhome, on 16 Apr 2013 - 07:52, said: I have my own opinions - I'm not and never have been 'media driven'. Been saying largely the same thing for years. It's about everyone at the club - not about any individual. You only have to look at how the team is or has been playing for proof positive. It's right before our eyes. I don't believe the spin and the bs. If you and others choose to, then that's your decision.
  22. Gday ad, I'm certainly not excluding the players from any blame. But it starts from the top down. This is almost certainly going to be our 7th poor season in a row. It cannot just be a player problem. It's the easily identifiable reason but a team can't be this bad for this long without management issues. The Board make the appointments either directly or indirectly and also oversee everything. The Administration also have a hand in appointments and also oversee things. The Football Department and the coaches have their responsibilities and they list or delist players and so on and so forth. There is obviously a lot more to it but that's a quick overview. Then we have the players and their output. There's a chain of command and if things go badly wrong for a long period of time it has to be a management issue. As an example ... We know that the defensive aspects of our game and our accountability skills were poor under Dean Bailey. Is that the players fault or the fault of those coaching and instructing them? And who was keeping a watchful eye over the FD and the coaches? It all starts at the top. Our CEO was moved on last Tuesday so perhaps that's the first move in addressing things at the top. Though we were told that CS 'polarising the supporter base' was a reason for letting him go.
  23. No, we need change from the top down. I've made a number of references as to why and how in posts #49, #69, #71 and #73 in this thread. .
