Yeah GL, the next 2 games are at home for the Warriors so they've got a 'golden' opportunity. At this stage anything could happen in the West. Memphis are in with a show over OKC. Miami put their foot down today and they're looking ominous. Next 2 are in Chicago though and you'd reckon that the Bulls could win 1 of the 2. Interesting that all 4 series have been split so far. Here's some highlights from today's Warriors/Spurs game. Klay Thompson lights it up.

Grizzlies get one back and the Knicks get on the board - Carmelo went on a terrific points scoring run. Both series are tied at 1-1 and it will be interesting to see how Memphis and Indiana go in their 2 home games coming up. Reggie Miller and Spike Lee had a reunion of sorts today ...

I had a listen to the game today and even though we led with 5 mins to go, I had an uneasy feeling. You, Cards and GTG are probably a lot more fanatical than myself on your teams. Just like the NBA, I tend to follow the sport more than the team. My grief in losing is largely reserved for our Demons! With the Hockey and the Hoops, I'm a lot more interested during the playoffs. Fairly sure that if the Blackhawks get through they will play the lowest seeded 1st round winner. At this stage it's your Sharks but if the Red Wings (seeded 7) knock off Anaheim, Chicago will play Detroit (classic match-up) and San Jose will play the winner of the St Louis/LA series. Think it works out that way. Anyway, In the other conference, Ottawa now lead 3-1 over Montreal but the other 3 series are still up for grabs. Here's the highlights from today's Pittsburgh @ NY Islanders game 4.

Too good for my blokes! That 4-0 result gives the Sharks a good rest up - is that always an advantage? You got one win today and the footy rumour could deliver you a 2nd win, pantaloons. Ya never know hey ... Assuming the Blackhawks get through, do they play the lowest seeded 1st round winner in the 2nd round? Detroit (the 7 seed) may yet get through which would make things interesting. See the Islanders won again today as well. They won't go away easily.

Miami drop game 1 ... looks like they were a little rusty ... highlights In the other game today the Spurs won a thriller in double overtime over the Warriors. Parker and Curry had big games but it was a clutch 3 pointer from Ginobili that sealed Golden State's fate ... highlights
-
Thriller between OKC and the Grizzlies today ... here's some extended highlights In the other game today, the Pacers go 1 up in New York. Very important win.

Here's the highlights from that Pittsburgh @ NY Islanders game. The Penguins now lead that series 2-1. For those with cable, Fox3 are screening game 3 of the Maple Leafs/Bruins series from 9am tomorrow (the game is in Toronto)

The less said about the Canucks, the better. Getting outclassed against San Jose and the 'Roughhouse' tactics clearly aren't working It will take a miracle now. Minnesota got 1 back and Pittsburgh won a thriller at the Islanders. Speaking of roughhouse tactics, things got a little out of hand in Ottawa today (the Senators won the game 6-1) Game 4 could be interesting ...

Yeah, it was a well put together doco, Demon16. Those '30 for 30' ESPN doco's are well worth seeking out. Should be a terrific series vs the Knicks. I reckon your blokes can do it. The Pacers are strong at points allowed and rebounds so we can look for some tight games. ... Scout's take: Knicks vs. Pacers (from a Knicks point of view, only one I could find) Anyway ... the Bulls get through after defeating the Nets in Brooklyn today ... highlights Wonder if Derrick Rose will do a 'David Lee' and make a brief appearance for inspiration. Might seem a bit contrived so I doubt it. The 8 teams are set for the Conference semi-finals now. Miami might be a little rusty but if they come out and win game 1 then we could close the door on that series.

... Rangers/Capitals game 2 highlights The Maple Leafs get on the board in Boston. Will post highlights when they are up. Looks like it was quite a tense game going by the sequence of goals. Back in Toronto for the next 2 games. Feeling confident GTG? LA are 1-0 up, half way through the 2nd period vs St Louis ... a must win for the Kings. Edit: Toronto/Boston game 2 highlights

Caught up with this ESPN '30 for 30' doco called 'Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs The New York Knicks' Definitely worth a look or at least to bookmark for a later time. With the Knicks through to the 2nd round of the playoffs and drawn to play against Indiana, the doco is quite apt and is a great trip down memory lane. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QLiu10jSto

Here's the highlights of that come from behind win by the Islanders. Crosby scored twice in his comeback game for the Penguins but it wasn't enough. Strangely enough, the Islanders went 14-6-4 on the road in the regular season. Not too bad for an 8 seed. They'll need to win 1 of the next 2 at home to stay in the series you'd reckon. Pittsburgh went 18-6-0 on the road 4 games tomorrow with the most pressure being on the Kings. The Rangers and Maple Leafs won't want to fall 2 down. Anaheim dropped a game at home so they'll need to get at least 1 win out of the next 2 at Detroit. Being down 3-0 or 3-1 usually spells doom although in the NHL, there's more come from behind series wins than in the NBA.

3 of the Conference Semi-finals are now set. Spurs/Warriors, OKC/Memphis, Knicks/Pacers are all interesting match-ups whilst you'd reckon Miami will take care of the Nets or the Bulls. They would probably have more trouble with the Nets. I reckon anything could happen with the other 3 match-ups. OKC without Westbrook will find Memphis a handful. ... Clippers @ Memphis game 6 highlights
-
The Blackhawks are gonna be hard to stop. Another emphatic win today over Minnesota ... Highlights The Penguins slipped up after leading 3-1 over the Islanders. Back to Long Island now for the next 2 games.
-
Knicks advance and now play the Pacers (who knocked out Atlanta today) Miami await the winner of the Nets/Bulls game tomorrow.
-
Maybe it's a case of what goes around, comes around ... Martin Havlat suspended five games for kicking Hal Gill to the groin
-
Today's Anaheim vs Detroit game was a beauty ... highlights St Louis go 2 up and now it's back to LA for the next 2 games. Ottawa and the Capitals start off with wins and this was the latest news with regards to Lars Eller ...

Watched a bit of the match and Andrew was very good - big game. Even David Lee played a couple of minutes and Curry had another good match. They're up against the Spurs next. Should be a good series. Highlights of game 6. The Nets/Bulls series goes to a 7th game after Brooklyn won today. Back to Brooklyn for the decider on Sunday (our time) Knicks @ Boston for game 6 tomorrow (9am ESPN) Should be a cracker. New York were leading 3-0 and they'll need Carmelo to step it up you'd reckon.
-
The Sharks go one up in Vancouver ... that's 4 from 4 now including the shortened season. Could have been worse without Luongo's efforts. The Penguins looking ominous and those Bruins were just too good again, GTG. Blackhawks and Anaheim started with wins and the St Louis / LA series is shaping up as a classic. ... NY Islanders @ Pittsburgh game 1 highlights
-
Spurs and Heat have their feet up but we've got 6 series all with a score line of 3-2. Boston and Houston would have to come back from 3-0 deficits and I believe it's never been done before. Heard some stat that only 12 Teams have forced a game 6 after being 3-0 down. ... Boston @ Knicks highlights (today)

Ha! I still wouldn't rule out the Jets going forward. Geno seems quite a confident young bloke and I expect him to be the starting QB. You just never know with Rex although the Patriots will probably dominate the AFC East again. In the 2010/11 season the Jets went 11/5 whilst New England went 14/2 so you never know. I must say, I like watching the Jets games. Just for the theatre alone it's good value. There are a few teams that are good entertainment value. Eagles/Vick, 49ers/Kaepernick, Steelers/Big Ben, San Diego/Rivers, Saints/Brees, Giants/Eli and even Dallas with Romo are good to watch. It's a great League and I find it hard to hate any team. Only 3 months to the pre-season games Strafford
-
It was only a couple of years ago that the Jets went to their 2nd Conference Championship game in a row under Rex and with Sanchez. So they're capable but they seem to be in the news for the wrong reasons a fair bit. Tend to think Rex likes it that way and maybe the organisation does as well. Any publicity is good publicity?

Well not everyone sees things the same way hardtack, so you're being a trifle liberal with the 'Everyone' In my case I wanted Mark to come in and toughen the list up and get us to play more accountable footy with a much better defensive mindset. So far he has failed at those expectations. In fact, we're playing much worse footy under Neeld than we did under Bailey. And Bailey was not a good coach. It doesn't seem that the team plays for him nor do they seem to play in spite of him. On the surface of it, it looks like all he does is alienate them. By the way, a few of us raised our concerns about Mark after round 7 and 8 last season ... in this thread ....makes for some interesting reading in hindsight ... ... Everyone Stand Up And Applaud Mark Neeld Many of the points brought up then are the same points being brought up now. Close enough to one year later.

Geno Smith in the news already. Not sure what the bonus dollars are when a player is selected in the first round or indeed if there's any extra dollars involved if a player is a high draft pick. Couldn't see KC picking him anyway with Alex Smith on board. Although you're never quite sure with these things. Surely Geno's not upset about being in a 5 way tussle for the QB spot at Jets? Surely not? ... Geno Smith fires agent after fall to New York Jets
