  1. Such a good jockey is Oliver ... didn't ride a winner yesterday but making up for it today. 3 winners already today after getting Carrie over the line in the 6th race. Got it in a couple of multi's.
  2. Had every chance this time Gorg. As you said, a stronger field.
  3. Ollie couldn't get Cetshwayo out in the 4th race at Geelong ... ended up starting favourite too so was a moral beaten. But you win some you lose some. We race tight in Oz so the gaps often just don't appear That's racing.
  4. Haven't got any standouts at Sha Tin today other than to recommend that it's best to look for a bit of value. First race meeting back after 2 months so the formline is scratchy. Maybe a medium wide quaddie but don't forget to include the Purton & Moreira mounts.
  5. I was on Miss Guggenheim as well JV. Well done again for the tip ... Damien Oliver is the one. Boots 'em home Nice way to start the day! (I might add that I picked up 3 decent collects at Haydock last night so I'm on a roll this weekend)
  6. 12 legs! Did you win enough to purchase the MFC Gorg? We need someone of good standing to get in there and clean the joint out. Drain the swamp or whatever!
  7. Yeah sitting up late watching the Tour de France & a bit of the racing from the UK Wadda so will watch the replays in between. Didn't even hear the 'Nature Strip' race ... but I thought the horse might not have been quite ready. Will be next time you'd imagine (get better odds?) but by gee, Gytrash is a good horse. Just keeps winning against good company.
  8. I'm not sure Wadda .. we got 2 winners and a 2nd last week I believe And today we got 2 winners and a place pick up (3 correct then?) ... as well as a 2nd & a 3rd from 2 other win picks today I think it's just the 5 total wins Wadda but by the way, that's more than decent in terms of turning a profit. And I don't think I've seen a Saturday race live in nearly 18 months now. But I'm in the business of making money so long live capatalism!! Nearly twice as busy because of this damn virus. Go figure Anyway, playing with house money overnight & @ Sha Tin tomorrow ... the last 4 races (Quaddie legs) at Sha Tin tomorrow seem to be good betting races too. Moreira & Purton feature heavily of course
  9. Ended up in front for the day Wadda but what could have been hey? We started off like a house on fire. Still managed 4 collects from our tips so no complaints. My motto is that if you keep getting collects you'll end up in front. I was once again at work all day so only a bit of audio intermittently. Strike Rate 11: 5-2-1 Australian Group Racing And for those with a keen interest in overseas racing there's a full program of group racing to be held at Churchill Downs tomorrow morning (including the time-honoured Kentucky Derby) A couple of other Group 1's are on offer and Sha Tin is back in operation as of tomorrow as well. The ADATR thread never sleeps. Kentucky Derby Group 1 2000m $3.6Million 9.00am Stakes Program: Churchill Downs (7 Stakes Races in all from 4.55am) Haydock (UK) Sprint Cup Group 1 (12.25am) Saratogo (USA) Woodward Hcp Group 1 (7.30am) Sha Tin Sunday (Full Program) ... Race 8 is the feature event
  10. I was on Age of Chivalry as well and it was a good tip by RF ... just beaten by a real good horse in Showmanship. I'm in front with our tips anyway with 2 real chances to come.
  11. Always need a bit of luck Shot of Irish missing the start made things easier for Junipal
  12. Is 'Nature Strip' over the line in the Concorde Stakes? (Race 4 Randwick) The odds would suggest so but the horse is not always at its best first up. I've taken out a F4 in the race and I give Dirty Work & Gytrash a show in the race. And the Chelmsford Stakes (Race 7) is an open race ... Paul Joice has picked 'Angel of Truth' to win (5-1) so that might do me. At its best Avilius would win this but can it find its best form? Life Less Ordinary at 20-1 provides some real value in the race. Spec pick?
  13. It'll figure itself out over time Wadda ... we can just use any of the tips as we see fit. 2 leg doubles is my preference so if we have 5 or more tips then one doesn't have to necessarily use them all. Even out-out win bets such as 'I am Superman' last week can give a good return. As an example I have got How Womantic & Surprise Baby in a one-out double from our selections. Gator likes both of them as well and he's often on the money. Still worth a coffee on all of them in a big multi but again, my preference is to pick the eyes out of the selections. We could use a roughie pick for the place in a multi as well. That's how I might use that type of tip. I can see your point about multiple selections in the one race but again, it'll figure itself out once everyone knows how it all works. I don't believe we'll have a repeat of the previous double-ups.
  14. Now that's a good idea ... there's always a lot of value about on an each-way basis. And the value at the Valley can be the on pace runners who get a cushy run. I'm also weary of backmarkers who draw an inside alley.
  15. Every week we had issues yet there were only 4 tipsters! haha Anyway, well said in your previous post. We like to see ourselves as a co-op with no entry fee.
  16. Best Bet Moonee Valley Saturday Race 1 No.3 How Womantic (Win) $3.10
  17. 8 Stakes races out of Sydney & Melbourne this Saturday ... an exciting day at the races coming up. Randwick Form, Odds & Tips (Stakes Races 4, 6, 7 & 8 ) Moonee Valley Form, Odds & Tips (Stakes Races 5, 6, 7 & 8 ) And here are the two 1600m races to be run ... both G2's & both worth $250k

  20. Best Bet Strike Rate 5: 2-1-0 Australian Group Races 2020/21 And the Group 1 replays from the weekend
  21. Long term I'm reasonably confident that Kozzie & LJ will provide some answers but we still need a KPF and a good defensive forward if we're going to challenge. Weideman is developing ok and I haven't given up on T-Mac just yet. Brown is back up. Fritsch & Melksham can both be much better but it is up to both of them to get the best out of themselves. Playing forward these days means playing in crowded situations a lot of the time. So it isn't easy but we need to find the right mix. Meanwhile, the make up of the midfield and backline are more than adequate. Not perfect but both areas aren't of great concern.
  22. Robbie Flower would carry the team regularly. Same deal for Hardeman, Wells & Alves. Back in the day. But we still couldn't beat the good teams even with those 4 performing as well as they did. And all 4 did so most weeks (perform) But up to 5 or 6 other teams often had up to 12-15 bona-fide top players back then. These days it's very difficult to build a list containing 15 top players. But that still has to remain the aim even though it's hard to attain. I reckon we're sitting at about 7 or 8 top players right now. Need more.
  23. Kozzie isn't really the issue either although he is part of the forward line group. Same goes for LJ. They are both very young with a lot to learn. But the others have been around for long enough. Can they learn? Maybe. Could be that they are what they are RN. The off-season might provide the answers if our recruiting team are 100% switched on. We have got to be aiming at having an A grade or B+ forward line. Right now it's barely a C. But that can change quickly up to B or even B+ with some astute recruiting. A gun key forward along with a proper defensive forward who can kick goals (Viney?) as well as 2 decent high half forwards are needed. Fritsch & Melksham can provide the latter 2 spots if they both play to their best. It would be hoped that Kozzie fills the role of the dangerous small forward with LJ as the genuine X factor. So all hope isn't lost ... we just need to get a lot better up forward. The team is a work in progress but so is the team within the team (the forward line)
  24. I'm not advocating that every one of our forwards pushes up so that as a consequence there is no one to kick to. Petracca in 2019 played that high half forward position very well but ... the players further afield were ineffectual. So we wasted him. If players like Spargo or Hannan were to work their butts off to gather 20+ possessions (like Petracca often did in 2019) then we'd be better off. But they don't and it's probably because they are incapable of doing so. Check out the way Richmond go about it ... their forwards often roam far and wide (when they are on song) and they work really hard for each other. And their defensive pressure is immense. That's the template AF.
  25. The players in the forward line can win the ball outside the 50 metre arc. That was my point. It's not all about inside 50 entries. Again, our forwards don't work hard enough. 'Chasing kicks' is a prerequisite of a forward these days. Previously that term was sometimes frowned upon or looked upon as a selfish pursuit.
