  1. Really ? I haven't read enough of him.
  2. I read a post where Goose stated he'd not buy a membership if CJ goes. It seems to have been deleted. Not to worry. I'll buy 2 if he goes.
  3. Congratulations - you've just made it into one of my lists. One is titled 'Footy Cred' and the other 'Footy Stupid'. I'll let you guess which one.
  4. I also really like Walters from WA. There are a lot of very good players this year. Anyway, the very best thread on young talent presently on the Net is linked below. It's fantastic and a must for footy followers. Even if it is on Big Footy: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=499369
  5. I agree with 99% of that except I like Maguire. He actually wants the struggling clubs to survive....
  6. This is where I have an issue. It's the acceptance that this is our lot when in reality it's a completely compromised competition. Ask North Melbourne, Footscray, and the Saints, if the "grounds for demanding better" are paid anything more than lip service. And if it was a fair competition, why would you need to "demand better" ? But that's the problem, isn't it ? You and everyone else knows that it's not fair. You also know that nothing is going to change. So, there's nothing more to do other than accept that it is what it is and get on with it. It would be very easy to lose interest in football, which unfortunately puts a club like Melbourne in an even more parlous state.
  7. Absolutely correct. The AFL ONLY care about TV ratings and crowd numbers - nothing else. And the acceptance of such a skewed inequitable competition is only marginally less extraordinary.
  8. What, all 20 of them ? You seem a bit edgy, but then I remember it's mating season down there. Who said you can't put lipstick on a pig. (yeah, yeah, flea, Mr Sparkles, etc.- good one Einstein)
  9. I suppose the cyber stalking childish pm's like last time are next ? Nighty night
  10. I gree, but don't you think that our club would have this information ?
  11. I've never closely watched him play, so I'm not in a position to comment. It's pretty obvious that our club will seriously consider a supposedly talented hard at it 20 year old with two years development in an AFL system. Fwiw, Tim Watson intimated on SEN this morning that the reason he was delisted was off field disciplinary reasons. But Sleeve has already put us straight on that one.
  12. As usual Freak, that's not true. He was officially measured at Draft Camp it's just that that recording hasn't been publicly confirmed and you, and I, don't know what it is. His previous measurement was 189cms, but, yes, unsubstantiated reports now have him at 194cms. Jack Watts was 194cms and is now 'officially' 195.8cms. We only know what it is because he made the top 10 for height at Draft Camp and top 10 results were released. I like to use my eyes, Freak. I don't know about you, but he looks taller than Cameron Bruce and Simon Buckley and both those boys are listed at 190cms. Matty Bate comes in at 192cms. Have a look at the footage again and ask yourself "who looks taller ?".
  13. I think you're as thick as two short planks. I said that none of the above showed in their first year that they would be definite A graders. You then said that Ablett averaged 2 goals a game as a permanent forward pocket. I showed this up to be a fallacy when I pointed out that he averaged less than a goal a game in his first year and only 8 disposals. You now say "that's a good platform though, don't you think ?" And because you were just about prepubescent when he started his career you admit you "never saw much of him in those years". Stop wasting my time, Faceache.
  14. Ablett kicked 135 goals at 1.35 goals per game from his first 100 games and averaged 15 possessions. Also, I said "And none of them did anything in their first year to suggest that they would either" in response to their current A grade status. Note the words "first year" ? Ablett played 12 games in his first year, kicked 10 goals at an average of 0.8 a game, and averaged 8.3 disposals. Franklin played 20 games in his first year for 21 goals. He kicked 31 in his second year, not the 50 you assert. He played quite a few games for Box Hill in his second year as he was still learning the caper. If you're going to post on an opposition forum and stick your nose in then at least get your facts right. Frankly, I'd [censored] you off.
  15. Well there's an endorsement if ever I've heard one.
  16. I noticed that too, Mo. It was quick thinking and looked natural. The 'load time' on his non preferred wasn't a problem either. For those yet to see any of Rhys O'Keefe here's a snippet of footage. He's a strong bodied left footer who gets involved in the contest (187cms) A good pickup at around pick 19, but Strauss, Broadbent and a couple of others would also be great.
  17. Time will tell. We need him to be better.
  18. Taller, faster, 10 years younger.
  19. For those that haven't seen Schoenmakers here's a quick glance: Nothing wrong with his load time.
  20. And none of them did anything in their first year to suggest that they would either. Players evolve. Ablett averaged 15 disposals per match in his first 100 games. He's averaged 27 in his last 40. Morton has fantastic upside and I like the look of Grimes and Maric, but granted Buckley, Davey and Wonaeamirri aren't in the A grade league.
  21. You playing second fiddle again ? Refer to post #20. It's either subliminal thinking or you're improving - slowly.
  22. I'm not saying you're wrong and he may well end up being very good, but I struggle how anyone could rate him highly at this juncture. By what parameters do you make such an assessment ??
  23. I'll leave it at that. As I said, good post.
  24. Basically the concerns you have for Watts are all yet to be cemented in concrete. In other words, you don't know. By your own admission you've only ever seen him play once. You have no idea what courage or aggression he'll show when he's 'AFL ready'. You're crystal ball gazing. I think you spend too much time looking at your own.
  25. Good summation. You rate a couple more than me, but a very sound and realistic analysis.
