All Grounds Dimensions - Some surprises
Was it that same wind that helped knock Oliver over? It's all becoming clear now.

All Grounds Dimensions - Some surprises
I think it's about time the AFL started looking at alterations to ground surfaces - particularly to keep pace with the frequency of rule changes. I'd like to see some grounds with a 2m elevation from one to the other. Maybe a hump across the half forward and back lines. Turn another ground into a velodrome type set-up with berms so the faster players can use them to run high and evade tacklers. I also have some thoughts on things such as artificial breezes caused by huge fans at either ends of some grounds which could counter-act some of the one-sided umpiring we regulalry see. Just a few thoughts.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I think the fact that in the article he's mentioned his partner has a fair say in the decision, you wouldn't be silly to think he's odds on to move back to Vic.

If Jake wants to play for Melbourne they'll have suck up whatever we offer/give them.

The Importance of Jordan Lewis
He acknowledged that he had an absolute mare on 360 last night but highlighted that as a "proud person" he would definitely bounce back next week against the Dogs. Start him in the guts this week.

Time to show Oscar some respect!
Was just watching Steven May rag-dolling Hawks opponents with effortless tackles and I started wondering if Oscar could chuck on another 8 kilo he'd be the gorilla minder we need. We need a heavy defender that is hard to move off the ball and I think it's time to grow one. Oscar is the man I reckon.

Agree with everything you say but if he nominates Melbourne (or any other club for that matter) history suggests the trade will be done in the end regardless but possibly not independent of other trades. Ed: will the fact we were wanting to draft him with the Trengove to RFC pick hold any sentiment for him to choose us? Can only hope.

Are you watching today's game? To be fair, this game is highlightjng how terrible we are all over the ground. I'm over the team and not in the mood to debate mate.

Let me know when you find Utopia. The way the game is currently being played hardly affords the the type of player you have in mind. The relentless pressure and outnumber style is in vogue and will be for some time I reckon. Give me grunt and the ability to get it into the forward line any day of the week. Our greatest concern is the inefficient conversion from good entries into F50. I think we have enough class with Lewis, Hibberd and Salem right now without running out and paying overs for a silky player that struggles getting his hands dirty at the coal face.

I tend to agree. He did quite a few mature things in last nights game - one in particular was when he set up a crucial goal in the last qtr with a great well-timed handball in heavy traffic. We've got fringe players in the way of Harmes, ANB, JKH, Bugg, Hannan, Wagner, Melksham and a couple of others rotating through the 22 at the moment. I understand this is how depth works and pressure on the 22 is kept up but I'd rather a player like Zak Jones in the team full time because he's got all of the tricks the aforementioned group have all bundled up in one.

The Suns are going nowhere fast. May will be 26 yrs old for season 2018 so he's got another ~6 years left in him. I think he'll want to play it back in Victoria, on the MCG in front of friends and family. And in red and blue.

Jake Niall comes across as one of the most unconvincing reporters out there. That and he looks like he could star in a B grade Zombie movie.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Lever is handy but hardly the player many here seem to be moisting up over. He's of the size (regardless of his toughness) that will still get man-handled by the big KPF's just like Omac does. We need a big, strong, experienced and skillful KPD in the team.- Clarence Oliver
Pranked by ANB... where's he wheelie bin?- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
No offence to @stevethemanjordan who I rate on this forum but why, oh why, are we discussing potential trades after only 2 rounds of footy have been played? One could be forgiven if it was looking Like 2013 all over again but it ain't. And those who are suggesting trading Brayshaw need to take a good hard look at themselves in the mirror and then head butt it.- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
- Biggest rivalry?
The way media commentators talk it up nowadays it that almost every team is one-another's biggest rival. There's 18 teams in the competition and the whole concept is diluted for me because of that and until we get to the pointy end of the competition and have a rivalry with another club, similar to the Hawks/Cats/Swans level, I just can't see anything of note.- Movies/DVD's
Went and watched Logan today. 4.5 stars for mine. Impressed by the storyline, acting and a couple of decent plot twists. Oh, if you like your violence and gore, this is a must see.- Clarence Oliver
It's always a debatable point as to where the plaudits should be handed out in regards to draft choices. I like to think Taylor's success links to the arrival of Roos and Jackson and in general the greater level of communication in getting the new list strategy in place and executing it. Absolutely, the efforts that Taylor and his team have put into finding players with what appears to be huge talents needs to be recognised but at the same time it is merely not a single arm of the club performing their role better than other areas. As Roos always said, it was about creating the environment and culture where everyone can be developed to become the best they can be and in this instance, it's pretty clear that the recruiters are benefitting from that ethos.- Clarence Oliver

An article out of yesterday's West Aussie. Unsure of it was also published over east. Oliver in for a bumper season- Clarence Oliver
Super talent. His hands are great but it's also nice to see him becoming more damaging with his kicking. Such a strong core for a young fella as well. The tackles he stood up in broke out of last night were excellent. - Zak Jones
