CASEY: Rd 05 vs Richmond
What a gem from Sestan!! Powered out of a tackle from the bounce and kicks a barrel from 60!

This shizenly biased umpiring for the Tiges is a carry over theme from last year as well.

CASEY: Rd 05 vs Richmond
If the umps can stay out of gifting the tuges and denying us we should win easily. McAdam a nice grab... NOT PAID play on. hilarious stuff

CASEY: Rd 05 vs Richmond
Wow so mark spilled by tiger in our goal square. The umps so eager to blow the whistle in favour of the tiges he pays it. The resulting spill is kicked off the ground by us for a goal but then ump decides his original decision was wrong and calls.it back.... talk about amature. McAdam on for his first run

At least two dubious frees to the Tiges gifting them two of their first three goals.

No longer on Kayo Buck. Crank up your mobile or laptop and enjoy. But don't try and cast it to your TV. The AFL reckon that's a little too much luxury for us VFL riff-raff.

CASEY: Rd 05 vs Richmond
Surely there's a better alternative than playing this match on the same day as the senior match? What's wrong with Sat or Sunday?

Whatever happened to Bell? Had a reasonable season in 2021. Stepped things up at times in 22 and a flag. 2023 unsighted from what i recall and now sits on the emergency list?

PREGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
It wasn't a blinder IMHO Kickit. A very solid game with the highlight being 17 tackles. Still coughed up some major clangers (mostly by foot) and mostly under fairly average to just ok pressure. Unfortunately Kolt probably didn't do enough to hold on to his place with Kozzy coming back. Maybe the coaches don't see Kolt as having the tank / strength/ experience to hold down a mostly mid field role (at this point) and see him more as a HF-Mid. For mine i thought Sestan and Paddy Cross's games were as good or better than Bill against Port. Not that Ollie was polished enough through the middle to earn a call up for this role either, in particular he still has much improvement to go with two way running and defending/pressure in general. However, Ollie is picking up the pace and may only be a few months or so away from knocking the door down . Hopefully sooner and playing a mostly HF role where he seems much more at home and quite dangerous when he's on. The FD probably has more trust in Bill's defensive side which was on show over the weekend. Given the oppo's depleted line up i personally think we may have missed the boat here and could have left Kolt in to go around one more time tomorrow night. He may have settled in his second game and gained some confidence from the coach backing him in. And given there's likely to be a bit more space & time vs the Tiges, who knows, he may have brought something more impressive to the table. I'm sure he'll be back at some stage this season and really looking forward to seeing how he goes at Casey tomorrow and beyond.

Training Ground?
As long as there's a sign saying... "This Way to the Bar 👉🏼 " That will suffice surely

TRAINING: Tuesday 23th April 2024
Thanks Kev. He's done that at his other sessions with the hand issue. Sounds like all's well though. Coach says all good etc.

Laurie in for Clarry? Strapping and/or glove still on? Looks fine or is he restricted in any way?

Great to hear. Looks like his performance in the second half with Casey up forward did not go unnoticed

He said he'd be ready for this week two weeks ago. I took that to mean Anzac eve (but via Casey). I'd be very surprised if he isn't in the squad.

PREGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Things are starting to click. Reckon they're still wanting to build his contest to contest and 2nd efforts tank. Plus some more involvements at stoppage? Definitely starting to look the goods around HF vs his time through the middle. I guess the latter will come with more time spent there. His debut might depend on what role the FD are expecting him to bring in future? If it's initially just a HF role he's probably super close. If they're expecting him to play a mid-HF role then he might still be a fair ways off?

Where is this 'dangerous' KF view and coming in to replace Roo coming from? Merely suggesting he replace BBB for the Tiger's match at this point. He went pretty well vs Port up forward and as chop out ruck for Verral. BBBs done a great job to assist early but has dropped off the last few weeks from early season efforts for obvious reasons. Thats not to say BBB doesnt come back. But you need to trial / manage for alternatives if or when the opp arises. Now is a great time for that to occur. Also on 'dangerous' KFs i would argue we presently don't have one in a form sense. BBB, Roo & Petty have all been significantly off their best in this regard so far other than the odd cameo from BBB & Roo. Missed the point entirely

He's not competing with Verral imv Dee. Fullarton's a mostly KF type bit part ruck a la the role we're attempting to have Roo play. He has height on his side though and is as good as Roo in the ruck dept imho which isn't saying much i realise but you just want a contest. You don't have to have back up rucks dominating or winning most of the hit outs as such. Just neautralise as much as possible while Max is resting. Im not saying Fullarton would necessarily be more successful either vs Roo but having him in means we now have a 2 meter back up to Max (vs Roo 194cm) allowing a young / developing Roo to focus on what he needs to do best which is a KF crashing packs, pressuring as best as poss at ground level and also just bringing high balls to the deck if he is out of the contest. As much as i like BBB as the leading forward (when fully up and about, which he is not.... he's being nursed just to make it on the field each week) he doesn't offer the versatility that Fullarton potentially brings for Max AND Roo. Fullarton also matches BBB in the height dept at 200cm. There will also (highly likely) be no BBB in 2025. We have to start prepping for that and seeing who on our present list is capable ...or not! No better time than these sort of games (against severely depleted oppo) to do just that.

PREGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Couldn't agree more sir. These are the ideal matches (and vs North) to trial Turner / Fullarton & Rivers (into the middle until Clarry is 90% - 100%). If Clarry's hand is even 70% after having an opp roughly one week ago i'll eat my hat. I'll believe he's right to go when the glove comes off.
