The Tigers are a notch above the Lions with ball use & movement once the ball gets outside. Pressure around the pill is also a tad more intense. They structure up around the ball quicker and more effectively also. If there is no clear chance of winning possession they bunt, wack, slap or kick the ball off the ground and keep it alive but always attempting to move it forward to gain ground and put opponent under further pressure. Will take a major effort to beat in the GF. They will be there me thinks.

Are we ANY chance of getting Bolton now??

You don't rate the Pies?

Thx DJ. No finals for us, howling winds, pissing down off and on all day and the filth / GWS circus both winning through. Kayo is good though ?

Lions have the top 5 possession getters so far

Would kill for some quality smalls ... grrr.

50% hit rate...nb! Simple SW. AFL / Gil Tse-Tung = fully invested - whatever it takes.

Pretty big gap between the top 6 and the next 2 this year imv

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Demon Dynasty replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just think how much $$ and time the club could have saved SK. We could have sent OD in as the "Reality Attache'" for the wake up call and be already well into the next search for a genuine option (outside the CBD!). -
Off twitter @Stevo7AFL “Canned” Giants chants coming through speakers in outer. Something new ...

Woeful down field decision

Nice pick up Praha. 96 was his breakout year from memory. I don't recall making that game but the one that sticks in my mind (i think) was the one against the Tiges at the G. Might have been an away game. I was sitting with my tiger mate in the southern stand...roughly M13 and i still recall a running goal around the boundary on the opposite flank that helped win us that match. We were rank underdogs. Classic early Ooze. Things began turning slowly from that point i believe into the 2000 GF. Oooze playing a big part. Although this match might well have been 1997 also. My memory isn't the greatest. Look at that forward efficiency. 17.1 disposals per goal and 62% accuracy. Would kill for that now. Can we get Clarkson back? And Pike playing with the Roy boys. Goes on to win 4 premierships (did he have one already with Norf at that point?)

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Demon Dynasty replied to Nascent's topic in Melbourne Demons
Aside from his ordinary turnover count and needing another pre-season to add to the tank and a season or two of additional experience behind him, Hore is far from depth imv 55 and easily takes Petty's place up there (Petty has shown something up forward and needs further experience/coaching & blooding here..down back only in emergency imv). Even at this early stage (ie; first year rookie) he is amazingly in our top 3 defenders and may end up our best defender IF the club can turn itself from a leaky old tugboat in 2019 to something resembling a cruise liner in 2020. If it can't and we resemble anything like the tug boat again then scrap everything i just said. All bets will be off and anything's possible from there. -
Yes i was also Bin. I agree, WC were attacking more aggressively from the get go. Might have reflected their assessment/rating from Rnd 14 (and game day analyst's review of Drugster's last three Rnds or so) of the way it moved the ball (significant turnovers if WC set up & defend as per instructions) and defended mid field ie; not very effectively. Effectively allowing some additional risk taking on the part of WC, and earlier into the match, vs other finalists.

The one on the Rawling's thread you mean EO?

Essendrug mids aren't that accountable Bin and the drugsters are also terrible at delivery i50 like us catching even their better defending mids out when they miss so often. No secret they love to run the ball quickly off HB. But it's what they do with the launch that kills them... 23 intercepts for Meth Coce in defensive 50 last night. Even worse than the last time they met in Rnd 14...@ 21. Massive loss right there and allows a quality ball using team like WC the confidence to play on and go for the 45 / overlap more often vs being forced to chip more often across HB against a team that uses ball and whose mids defend better. Bottom line, the drugsters are a bad sample to judge for evidence of change imv. The total intercept / turnover differential numbers are also eerily similar in both of those games, indicating that nothing effectively changed with the Drugster's method / quality of ball movement over the last 8 rounds or so. WC Differentials: Turnovers / Intercepts Rnd 14 - 14 + 14 Elim Final - 13 + 15

Admin have alegedly lost a few already but more than likely unrelated. Possibly coincidental. Edit: one of those apparently instigated by the club (early cost cutting in prep for expected revenue loss in 2020?).

Not a chance GV...this just out from CCTV footage (from a source deep within the inner sanctum)...

Who chose the recruiting team Red? That might explain it.

It had it's moments Mr Leg. Neilson always pretty good value. Some might say the easiest role of all but i thought Hagerty played her part superbly as well.

The raison d'etre for all the 'player' puff pieces from the club (and especially their timing) is now becoming apparent
