  1. More than just last week Red what have you been watching? We robbed ourselves of a key back and probably a win a few weeks back to send a message. Could have just as easily fined him or put him on notice. I also have faith that JVR will make a decent fist of things (in the short term).
  2. 100% ready jontee. Will he last more than a few weeks in that hurly burly? I doubt it but i reckon this week's as good as any to roll the die
  3. Im not a believer Mr Leg but it will be a missed opportunity if he isn't and sends a very poor message to the rest of the playing group. Need to stop the rot .... and no better time than the present.
  4. He will be fine for a debut this week. Would happily have him come in for Fritsch for a short stint or as long as he deserves to hold the spot. The whole forward line needs to be put on notice and a rocket sent. Aside from Macca and a few cameos here & there they've been bog ordinary most of the year and may well cost as the double chance etc.
  5. Oh well if you are happy for us to keep playing a selfish player who keeps burning his team mates 58 .... just keep picking him and say / ask nothing in terms of changing that habbit. That attitude will then start creaping through the group and it's a downward spiral from there
  6. We were the same during the MN years and a few other periods
  7. So the umps just gave Ginniven 17 seconds after he got up to take his free.... who else gets these luxuries? No wonder they win so often
  8. Go Norf! Haven't seen so much squealing in ages. Maggies could put a fabulous castrati of eunuchs together with this lot!
  9. After watching the entire Casey match tonight.... Outs: Spargo, Bedford, Fritsch & Bowey Ins: Laurie, Chandler, JVR & Hunt If Clarry doesn't make it Dunstan must be close to getting a call. Sparrow would want to bring a higher level than he did against the Cats IMV as Dunstan is ready to pounce even with Clarry in. Could easily manage both of these two for that position by rotating them for a block of games in the next 6 weeks. May the best man win! BBB is also on notice IMV with Mitch & Weid looking very sharp in patches tonight under shizen conditions, especially Mitch. The three of them are all pretty much at the same level in terms of potential impact as a KF. There's no stand outs amongst any of them. I wish there was! Weid does bring something the others don't which is the ability to ruck if needed. Allows us to rest Maxy on the bench / forward or in an intercept role behind play. Same with Dogga. Even if Weid only played about 60% game time just to give this chop out and keep the other two talls fresh & allow them to play their other roles a little more effectively?
  10. Pretty meh game for mine. Hunt kicked the door down big time in the second half.
  11. Hunt has to come in for Sparrow after that performance IMV. Bowey needs a rest for Laurie who was superb tonight. Hunt was the instigator of our come back from about half way through the third and has earned a recall. While all others were handballing to players two to five feet away bringing more pressure.... or trying to pinpoint passes from the back pocket under shizen conditions when we were still slightly behind, Hunt said "stuff this...im gonna get it, break lines and roost it deep into our forward half". In addition he intercepted brilliantly on a number of occasions a kick behind play just back of the square and didnt hesistate to shoot low raking kicks into the hot spots putting the puddy cats under immense pressure in 1 v 1s giving our forwards a decent chance. Baker & Mitch also did the same on a few occasions. Thought Mitch actually had a decent game without really hitting the scoreboard but very tough conditions. Weid also presented well after half time i reckon.
  12. Took about 4 or 5 contested marks...most after it started raining cats n demons. He's ready for a look at the top against the Power on our home turf
  13. Dunstan is really knocking on Sparrow's door big time.... pretty good tonight. Handball is elite most of the time. Kicking a bit hows your father though
  14. Chandler for Spargo...did enough tonight and the last two weeks in particular
  15. Laurie (BOG) comes in for Bowey
  16. Van Rooyan gets his first AFL game this week for Fritsch
  17. Tough conditions but a bit of a howler dropped chest mark from Tomo there under zero pressure. Ultimately Cost Casey a goal
  18. Wow one of the worst hospital handballs ive ever seen by Munro. Basically invited Smith to a death wish. Go back over the mark and kick it long Munro on a soaked pitch! Silly stuff
  19. So now you want him to go to the Dogs!?
  20. Havent looked at the stats but sounds like an awful second half 100% however he does have the right to exit. As a coach though you also have the right to ask what's happening with performance. And if you suspect he's already checked out... i know what i'd be doing...
  21. Sorry graz but about the best you are holding under that scenario is a 2 3 off suit
  22. I know he was under done but then why play him? Gawn running past the contest looking for the easy receive when Hawkins broke a tackle from the pack and kicked a goal around the corner was a seriously bad look. Should have been hitting in to that contest and/or at least covering the goal side space that Hawkins ran into to goal 🤮
  23. In 2020 with our season waining, Goody used the term "ruthless....we have to be more ruthless". For this season he might want to add "Selfless, we need to be more selfless". Well now's his chance to follow the ruthless and selfless sides through. Fritsch should be out for a stint at Casey to work on his selfless acts. Bottom line you can't have selflish players if you want to make a GF and win the big one. Selfless footy is catchy...and so is selfish footy. Coach needs to be ruthless here for everyone's sake. Huge opportunity to make that statement this week. Don't stuff it up son. Hard call but has to happen.
  24. Round 17, 2022 GMHBA - Cats vs Demons While we started off pretty well, seeing May start to fumble, drop marks and run under the ball i thought to myself "hello, hello, what's all this then!?" From there a few others caught the same fumble bumble disease and slowly but surely we started turning the ball over and gifting the opp a few cheapies. Got to give it to the Cats though, they also pressured us well around the ball, won their own fair share and had 20 more inside 50s. Better than us on the high press (harder/longer) and also punished us more often on the turnover. Method of entry i50 was a level above ours tonight. They use the spaces well and to their advantage to seek out potential loose receivers in fairly high percentage places. We've had many matches to work on getting something going with our own forward half play but so far a fail since Macca went down. You just won't win (defend!) against many teams scoring 8 or 9 goals very often. Even 10. You need at least 11 or 12 minimum as we witnessed from the Cats tonight, kicking 12 goals 19 behinds. Is it time for Goody to take the mantle and start changing things up with how we deliver coming inside and present / work when leading up to those delivering!?? Also wish BB would stop playing from behind so often. All forwards if you see your fellow player/s under the pump coming through the middle or on the wing, FCS try and at least get front position and be there for the bail out / dump kick under pressure. Why would you attempt to sit back in the hole in such a high pressure game unless players up the field were on a roll and gifting you a stack of repeat deep entries!?? Ok so leave one player deep eg Kozzy for the over the back crumb or goose. I think it's super important Goody does step in for a major attempt to tweak if we're to finish this season on a very strong note. We are flat-lining forward of center (badly!) and the buck stops at Stafford ...and then Goody. Come on Simon. Time to step up and get more heavily involved in this aspect of our game IMO and make the most of our (presently) strong ladder position. Clarry finishes at No.1 and no doubt he was up there for us on the night. But jeepers i just felt like he over hand balled (again) and that a large proportion of his disposals went nowhere and ended up being pretty ineffective and or resulting in a Cat's turnover & in some cases a goal. Steven May (8), Viney (6) & Clarry (5) the three worst turnover offenders. No doubt Viney & Clarry were under intense pressure tonight (heavy locks?). Most of Viney's efforts coming inside 50 and some of Traccs reminded me of the name of a villain from a fight scene in a god awful 2008 movie, The Incredible Hulk. For those of you who are lucky enough to forget or even better, haven't seen it, the Hulk had to battle one of his arch enemies...
