  1. Media attention or not, we have the luxury of being the big winners of the season regardless of whether we win or lose this week. Already we made and won a final. We are young, we have years of success ahead of us. If we lose, the story will be about us just not having the experience to match the Hawks, and how bright our future is. Hawks lose, and it's about "false dawns", "ageing stars", "flawed recruiting", "out in straight sets". Win or lose, the pressure is not on us. Everyone would love us to win the flag, but nobody expects us to. It's a great position to be in.
  2. Well, thereโ€™s only one thing left to do... get your BOOOOOOOs ready!
  3. Do we know who the umpires are yet? *please not Nichols, please not Nichols*
  4. A premiership cup is whats missing from the banner.
  5. Thanks to the Melbournefc Insta account! It is like a cheesy Wiggles photo. I love it too!
  6. Could technically fly in, fly out to save on accommodation costs... One week at a time!
  7. Agreed. Scott is an average coach compared to Clarkson. He would have watched our game, and all the previous games we've played against each other, and will try to choke us up the ground and shut the game down. Where we can break this, is to win some good clean ball in the middle. Start well in the clearances and put some pressure on them going forward, and it will go a long way to breaking them down. This is where our inside mids and Gawny are just so so crucial to our success. You can stop a lot of things in the modern game, but you can't stop teams winning clearances.
  8. Surely another sell out. If you went last week, youโ€™d be itching for more. It was bloody amazing!
  9. That's pretty lucky! My Dad wants to book some cheap deal he found today. He says we'll regret it if we don't. I told him only when we are 10 goals up at half time, will I let him book it. I'm a big believer in not jinxing it. If we book early, we'll lose. It is our destiny to win, and then spend a bloody fortune to travel to Perth, on the red eye, and sleep in a dirty motel. I can feel it!
  10. The AFL would love nothing more than for GWS to win a flag, so they can turn around and say "see expansion clubs are great". It will help them save face given where Gold Coast are at.
  11. I would be a marvellous FF. Stuffed knee, stuffed back, 0 aerobic capacity! As someone else said, it's a pretty big effort to go to Perth. It requires a lot of planning and a crapload of money as it turns out. I definitely haven't bought anything, I was just looking into it this morning when I had some time to kill. At least now I know that IF we happen to win on Friday, it will cost about $2000 all up to get up there and watch the prelim.
  12. Sure. We won. Still hate him!
  13. Yep I wouldn't be surprised. To fly with points right now is about 130,000 return! What a joke! No point worrying about it at the moment. If we win, I'll be so bloody happy and then we can have another stressful weekend working out ticket and game logistics.
  14. Right now Qantas flights are about $900 return PP, Jetstar $860. Christ if we win, it's going to be an expensive next weekend!
  15. Excellent. I am likewise passionate and unpleasant. Still getting my voice back too. I sound like a truck driver who smokes 2 packs a day at the moment.
  16. Petracca needs to spend an entire week getting counselling to get over his mental fear of kicking goals. His set shots this year have been an absolute disgrace.
  17. Last Friday we were sitting predominately with Melbourne supporters. This week I am up on Level 2 on the 50m arc in the Punt Road End. I hope it will be a similarly Melbourne-based area this week too. I'd hate to have to put up with disgusting arrogant Hawthorn wankers.
  18. I would love nothing more than for Weids to give him a bath. Hate the turncoat.
  19. http://www.mcg.org.au/getting-around/find-my-seat This is your friend.
  20. I'm wondering if I should go early and try to get flights to Perth with my million frequent flyer points.... too soon? Yes too soon, CALM DOWN!
  21. Actually dragging along the lucky charm (aka boyfriend) this week.... still hasn't seen us lose a game live. He is pretty much dead to me if we lose this week.
  22. If it's Nichols you might as well admit defeat. Hopefully since he umpired the Saturday game, he won't get the Friday as it is a shorter turnaround including the travel. Fingers crossed we get the same 3 from last Friday. It was a very well umpired game. Free kicks even and fair.
  23. I hope he cops a week. GWS can't win without him, he is their most important player. Hate his guts. Get rid of him, and in the process get rid of this soulless garbage franchise of a club. Don't deserve success.
  24. Plus it's one hour, in and out ,and you're done for the week. No more media, and you can focus on the game from Monday afternoon onwards. I think it's a great idea!
