How good is Oliver? Even when he has a “quiet” game he still gets 5 clearances, 8 goal involvements and 2 goals. If he was anyone else you’d say he was BOG, but because it’s Oliver we just go “yeah he was fine I guess”. Kid is a damn freak!

3 weeks in and still none of our coaches have figured out how to set up the forward line without McDonald. We are still bombing it in and wasting opportunities. This will go down to the wire, and I’m not convinced the results will go our way. Mentally they know they’ve got us beat the past 17 games. They have that edge. In a close game I don’t think we win.

I had a dream we lost and I had an emotional breakdown. Maybe in 8 hours that dream will be a reality. Feeling a real lack of confidence today. After last week, even if we are 60 points up at half time, I still will be expecting a loss. North just know how to beat us.

I understand what Bugg brings to the side, but I also understand that his skills are below required AFL level, and his inability to hit the scoreboard severely hurts the side. For me he is on borrowed time.

Amen. I want to win this game more than I want to play finals this year. I know that's irrational, but I just can't stand North! Every supporter of theirs that I've ever met (all 3 of them?), was a horrible human being.

Exactly. PJ has done nothing but improved our club financially! He isn't stupid enough to give up this type of revenue without knowing he can replace it long term. This is not 10 years ago, this club is actually run by people who know what they are doing now.

Win the clearances and dominate the midfield play. Job done. This is about so much more than the defenders nullifying him. He is a great player and he will kick a few. But what really counts is how well we defend as a team, and how much ascendency we have through the middle. Gawn has a big challenge, as do Jones, Oliver and Trac.

Jackson is a very smart operator as we know. I am 100% sure that he already has some revenue supplements lined up to replace pokies. There will be more sponsorship opportunities as a result, from “socially responsible” companies who wouldn’t sponsor clubs at the moment due to their involvement in gambling. Good on the club.

You’re not wrong, but the issues of teams scoring heavily against us in periods of play is not a new one. It’s an issue we had last year and what ultimately cost is finals. Nobody here is calling for heads or declaring our season is over, but round 2 on the back of last year, is a good enough sample size to know that we have issues that need to be resolved. To put it down to “it’s round 2”, is not actually an answer and I doubt internally the club is burying their heads in the sand about this.
