Farewell Dean Kent
Rubbish trade but nobody else wanted him and he was not contracted. A lot of wasted development for pick 65.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Enjoy mediocrity forever Freo.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
And this is why Freo is a joke of a club and have had no success ever. Get over yourselves and get moving or you’ll end up with nothing.

Me too. It’s gonna be Lever 2.0 I wonder if we bundle KK in that pick 5 trade. Maybe 5 for May and KK? And some late pick swaps?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I've never wanted him to go, while I thought he was committed to the club. Now it is clear that he is not committed, so I want him gone. There is no point holding onto even the best players, if they are not firmly embedded in what you are trying to achieve. If Hogan signs a 4 year extension and stays, and doesn't umms and errs about his future every year, I would be thrilled. But he has never done that, and we now have a chance to trade him to significantly better our list. It's time to go.

I want him gone. I want May. I don’t want another will he won’t he year. I don’t want a player who isn’t all in. I want to improve our list and he feels surplus to our needs. He isn’t committed to us. He needs to leave. We have supported him for years. Gave him everything we could. He clearly isn’t interested, not even now that we are on the verge of serious success. He’s gotta go.

Aaron vandenBerg not going - signs a new deal!!!
Great news and well done to him. Must have been a very hard choice. Just goes to show the quality of the person he is. Well done Vanders!

If Hogan ends up staying, he better sign a long term deal. If this is just him going “yeah nah I’m gonna wait until next year to go to West Coast”, I would be incredibly [censored]. The worst case scenario is that his foot is stuffed. Such a Melbourne thing to happen.

Are we at 200 yet?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I tried. I can’t imagine the truth is worse than what I’ve made up in my own mind from watching his insta stories.

But can’t commit.

Hmmmm DM?

Aaron vandenBerg not going - signs a new deal!!!
I really hope we can keep him, but understand his position. Must be a terribly tough decision to make. Family always comes first I suppose.

All the money in the world. Still can’t buy a win.

This thread is a bigger let down than the Bachelor finale. Won’t someone give me something?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Just landed back in Melbourne. What’s new?

Andrew Gaff
Which we all hope ends in the exact same way all their other desperate bids have.

So apparently it is possible to get over home sickness when it’s a 4 hour flight away. Fascinating. Also suck it North.

Farewell Dom Tyson
He is very good depth and we all talk about our inside mids like both Viney and Gus haven’t had injury concerns. Who is to say Viney can play 25 games a year? Next year? Maybe ever. With Viney injured, we saw the value of Tyson. If he wants to stay, I’ll be happy to have him on our list. If he wants to go, I hope we get decent compensation for him. He is not a bad player.

Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018
Yep. But even if worst case scenario happens, and we replace them with equal amounts of talent (or lack thereof), we have lost absolutely nothing. People talk as if we will go into next year short of players.

Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018
Honestly, with the exception of Hogan, has any of the players who have left/are leaving, going to dent our premiership hopes? And if we end up getting a rock solid defender in May, and some outside pace in KK and a backup ruck, does anyone really care if we replace the others who left with more speculative draft picks or discards from other clubs? How will they be any worse than the players we let go, who are clearly not good enough to make it? No point holding onto players who can’t crack a game for the sake of limiting list changes. As for Tyson and AVB, we won’t let them go for nothing. We will try to get decent compensation, which will balance them leaving.

Jake Lever Running
I think there would be 0 rush. If it takes 12 it takes 12. I prefer he takes 15 and never does it again. He would probably aim to play round 1, but my guess is we will see him after the bye.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Wouldn’t that be so typically Melbourne?! If his foot is cactus, we have just lost our chance of seriously improving our list to win a flag, AND we have lost one of our big talents.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
He refuses to sign a long term deal. No point holding on to something that is never going to happen. The club is right to push him to leave now. Max value, injury an unknown and still contracted. We hold the cards. Time to go.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ
Sounds like him and Gus could buddy up. Gus could be a good mentor and give him some advice on the confidence thing. From concussion to 3rd in the Brownlow- the story of the helmeted hero
