  1. I don’t disagree. But there’s a big difference losing clearances to Carlton and losing them to Bulldogs, Geelong or Port who have very potent midfielders and very potent forwards.
  2. This is the one area where we must get better before finals.
  3. It must also be hard to get yourself up for every game to the same level. When you play quality teams you are naturally more likely to play better. It’s human nature. I am sure we will lift a gear against the Dogs because we know they are our competition. Just as we did against Richmond.
  4. I go to games specifically so I don’t have to listen to [censored] BT. Or any other commentator. They are embarrassingly bad.
  5. No change. You can’t drop a player after one week. Viney needs to be 100% against the Dogs.
  6. 38,000 odd. Good attendance. A regulation win. We played at maybe 5% of our full capacity. Backline again won us the game. They are a bunch of absolute weapons. Kick 7.1 and not 1.7 in the last and it’s a 10 goal win. There is no point being at our best in May. We have multiple gears to lift and the time to do that is in August and September. You bank the win and look ahead to 10-0. Then the really hard road begins.
  7. Clearance stats still a major worry
  8. The umpires are awful across the ground and on both sides. We are barely in first gear. If we take it up like 6% we will win by 10 goals.
  9. Trac is filthy at himself. I sit near the bench and he was fuming when he came off in the first. Needs to do better.
  10. Tap on the game when you see it in the app. Once you tap on it it should bring up the ticket. Then add to wallet. Don’t click on view barcode or ticket details. It’s confusing but that won’t show you the ticket.
  11. Once you log into the digital membership on your app this game will come up. Tap on it and it should show you the ticket. You can then add it to our wallet (if you don’t have an iPhone you can take a screenshot of it. The barcode will still work).
  12. If anyone gets multiple tickets on their own account you can just take a screenshot of one and shoot it across to your family members. You can also text any ticket that is in your wallet to someone else.
  13. After years of botched list management and dead set busted [censored] recruiting, it’s nice to now have a team in charge that knows what they’re doing. Will be interesting to see how much our trade period dynamic changes now without Josh Mahoney. He was always very good at getting stuff done.
  14. I hope the boys got up this morning and saw that we are not 1st on the ladder anymore and decided this level of mediocrity just won’t do anymore.
  15. Dogs midfield is a class above the competition. Their backline is very suspect. Their forwardline is meh although they do have Josh “kicks goals against Melbourne specialist” Bruce. Port were disappointing for mine. Dogs were very good. Their midfield is next level. Edit: didn’t watch the Richmond GWS game. But given the injuries to Richmond it seems like GWS blew a good chance. Or did they choke under the pressure?
  16. Gees imagine getting The Bont. Dreaming I know.
  17. Hate Thursday footy. So hard to get there in time from work. Massively late night by the time you get home. I’m too old for that [censored].
  18. Come talk to me when you have to play down in f&$/& Geelong every year!
  19. We have enough talls who can pinch hit. Gawn will take 90% of the Centre bounces. Weid the other 10%. Brown and Tmac will alternate up forward. Gawn will take the defensive ball ups, perhaps with Tmac helping out if he’s pushing up the ground. I am really interested to see how Brown, Tmac and Weideman plus Fritsch who plays tall can work. Can they work? Will we just look immobile? Tmac is quite good defensively. Weideman is not. Nor is Fritsch. Brown is mediocre at best. It will be fascinating. If it’s very wet we might struggle.
  20. This is not really a question. Weideman will come in. We’ve waited all year for an opportunity to slot him in. Given Jackson is only 1-2 weeks away, he, Tmac and BB will all wanna play at their best. Someone will lose their position in two weeks. Not a bad thing really.
  21. I’m not sure anyone is taking this casually. But in the grand scheme of things Jackson getting a week or two off with a minor injury is hardly a disaster. Losing Tomlinson for a year is a disaster. Jackson getting a rest and recovering from a minor injury is a hiccup. Carlton don’t have a great ruck division. Gawn has gone it mostly alone in the past. It’ll be ok. We need to get our Centre clearances working again. If we can’t do that with Gawn we are stuffed regardless.
  22. Makes getting our Centre clearances back on track even more crucial this week, as I feel Jackson has been pivotal in turning things around for us in the center the last two weeks.
  23. The only footy podcast I listen to is the Gus and Gawny show. I save it for Monday morning when the drive to work is especially depressing. It’s such lighthearted rubbish and as an avid #positivelingers fan I keep hoping one day they’ll get the great man on.
